The foot responsible for tripping Ali when running down the street changes from the right to the left foot between cuts.
Ali's first assignment is to assault a police officer. During this, the cop's hat falls to the ground, and the position of the hat changes between cuts.
Early on in the film when a man is being escorted to the guillotine in an Algiers prison, there is a cut from a long shot of the courtyard to a close-up and two men wearing suits suddenly appear by the guillotine even though there is no door nearby through which they could have emerged.
In the final scenes of the film, showing the mass street protests, the French police are backed up by armored vehicles that are, in fact, Soviet-made SU-100 tank destroyers. These were part of the Algerian military when the film was made in 1966 after independence, but would not have been present or used by the French at any time.
At around 1:28, when the policeman is taking away the child beaten by the peat you can see a woman grinning at the sight.
After the French officer is shot by his car, as he is being carried away the actor is holding his head up. Normally his head would fall back when carried so soon after death.
When Ali is first in jail the shadow from the cell's bars appear on his face during close-ups. During longer distance shots there are no shadows.
One of the Arab workers is recorded after being "interrogated." The English Subtitle says that he states his last name as Smain (first name Ahmed). When his name is put onto the chain of command board it is written as Ahmed Said. Later his sister is looking for him asking if anyone has seen "Said" per the English sub-titles.
Fathia is looking at her hair in the mirror around the 41:50 mark. However, she is looking into the mirror at an angle so the viewer can see both her and her image at the same time. She would not be able to see herself at that angle.
In one scene, the rebels plant bombs in three locations in 1956. At one of the locations, the song "Rebecca" by Los Chakachas is playing on the jukebox. The song wasn't released until 1959.
Numerous incidences of actors moving their lips without sound throughout the film, for example when Ali enters the brothel and the Madame comes down the stairs; she is talking but there is no audio. Another example is when the child comes looking for Ali on the steps, as he moves away he is speaking but there is no further audio.
After the Arab section of town was bombed, people are shown cleaning up the area. One man has a pick that he is using on the ground in front of the rubble. However, the action as no apparent purpose. If he is digging a hole, why? There is nothing below the ground.
