Jon Favreau has found his Mandalorian.
Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to join the upcoming “Star Wars” TV show titled “The Mandalorian,” an insider with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap.
The “Game of Thrones” actor would become the first cast member to join the series, which will air on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+. Disney and reps for Pascal did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
The series, which is set in between “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens,” follows a Boba Fett-like character, described as “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…” In “Star Wars” lore, Mandalorians made the iconic armor that bounty hunter Boba Fett, and his “father” Jango Fett (he was technically an unaltered clone of Jango) wore in the films.

Nickelodeon will produce Pinky Malinky, a new animated series for Netflix based on its character, as Viacom’s cable networks begin to develop shows for digital outlets and other third parties.
This new strategy, which Viacom dubs the “studio model,” marks an attempt to take advantage of streaming services and mobile carriers to capture audiences that can’t be found on pay TV. Viacom’s six flagship networks — MTV, Comedy Central, Bet among them — will begin identifying characters or shows that could be reinterpreted for new audiences.
MTV, under the banner of MTV Studios, has begun to pick through its 35-year archives of youth-centric content to re-imagine its shows for non-Viacom platforms. In addition to tapping its library, MTV will produce new shows, starting with The Valley, about a group of friends growing up in the Mexican border town of Nogales, TX.

Being the lone girl in the Black Eyed Peas wasn't the biggest obstacle Fergie had to overcome when she joined the band back in 2003; it was convincing the fans that she belonged there that really posed a problem for the singer.
"When I first joined, there were a lot of people who didn't know what to make of me, and they'd been a fan of Black Eyed Peas being an underground hip-hop band," she said in the Women in Music issue of Elle. "Then I come in, and the first song we released when I was in the band was 'Where Is the Love?' with Justin Timberlake. So when that hit all the crossover markets, a lot...

Here's more on our story yesterday about a lawyer for Campbell's Soup demanding the removal of a mural of Andy Warhol-like soup cans at Pop Burger on East 58th Street. Campbell's first claimed copyright infringement in the early 1960s, when Warhol began using the iconic red-and-white soup label in his art. But no legal action was taken, in part because Campbell's realized War hol's art meant good publicity. In fact, in the 1980s, the company commissioned Warhol to depict the box of a new (and ultimately short-lived) line of dry soups.

Vince Vaughn is yet to understand why so many people found his character in cult hit Swingers to be so cool - because the actor saw him as a nerd. In the 1996 film, 31-year-old Vaughn played smooth-talking Trent Walker - but found his character more laughable than admirable. He explains, "Swingers was so misunderstood. I never saw Trent as cool. I always thought he was pathetic - funny and comical, but never the standard of cool. He was sort of geeky, when you think about it, the way he was so committed to the clothes and rituals and that he thought he had girls figured out. But there were a lot of guys, though, who started modelling their whole lives on the guy. It shocked me." But if Trent wasn't quite as cool as many people thought, he's still a little more in touch than Vaughn's character in his new movie Made. In the film Vaughn plays socially inept Ricky, who doesn't understand why the rest of the world can't be more like him. Vaughn adds, "And you know what? Guys are going to love Ricky. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Swingers all over again."...

Hollywood star Jon Favreau was shocked when he worked with Sean 'Puffy' Combs on the new movie Made - because the rapper is so much nicer than he's portrayed. Favreau says that Combs' villainous reputation is totally undeserved - and even compares him to legendary performer Frank Sinatra. Favreau says, "He's very unlike the way the media has portrayed him. The fact is, he runs a multi-million-dollar business, and I see him as a guy who likes to party in his downtime. It's like a Sinatra syndrome. If you're friendly with a lot of people and you're a magnet for public attention, people are going to take shots at you." And Favreau found Combs to be nothing but professional when he directed him in Made. He continues, "He was very well prepared. I didn't know what to expect, because when you work with people who are already celebrities you don't know if they are going to be spoiled. He was probably disappointed that I didn't give him more direction, but I was really happy with what he was coming up with."...

Actor Vince Vaughn was thrilled by the reaction from the first screening audience watching his new movie Made in Hollywood - even though he was miles away in North Carolina. The Swingers star was so depressed when he was told he wouldn't be able to make the screening last night that pal Jon Favreau agreed to call him on his mobile phone at the end of the film so he could hear fans' reactions. Favreau, who co-starred with Vaughn in Swingers, and wrote, directed and co-produced Made with him, says, "He was thrilled. He's working with Travolta in North Carolina and couldn't be here, so I just called him up and he heard the reaction. Fortunately everyone cheered and clapped. I think silence would have destroyed him." The timely mobile call really lifted Vaughn's spirits - he was arrested after a bar brawl with pal Steve Buscemi last month.

Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau are excited to be teaming up again for the first time since Swingers (1996) - but Favreau fears they'll laugh too much to get anything done. The pair hit the big time after starring in the hit comedy and now are collaborating again on Favreau's directorial debut Made (2001). Favreau says they're a match made in heaven, but don't get as much work done as they should, because they laugh too much. He explains, "As we're editing now, we have to really look at each other and say is this scene just in there because we like it, or will other people think it's funny too. I think Vince and I are complete opposites, I'm more of a worrier, a thinker and I tend to get paralyzed from worrying too much and he's more of a guy that shoots from the hip and so together we sort of feed off each other." He continues, "We drive each other crazy but really compliment each other and I think the chemistry we have is something we both value."...

Movie star Famke Janssen conducted unconventional research for her latest role - she visited strip joints to get private lap dancing lessons. The sexy actress plays a stripper in new movie Made (2001) - so she made sure she received expert tuition. She explains, "I found a woman who taught me how to strip at home, in the privacy of my own environment with nobody else watching me. That was quite an experience because she taught me how to lap dance and I practiced on her. It was very funny. And then of course I have to come to the set and do it in front of everybody, men only pretty much, so that was intimidating." Famke also picked up a few useful tips for herself. She laughs, "What she does is teach women how to turn their men on. She knows exactly how to rub all over their body and do those things. It's hysterical. She gave me some hot tips that if you wanna know, you have to watch the movie to see what those are!"...

Hunky actor Vince Vaughn is always thinking about women - even if they're more than twice his age. Vaughn was shooting a fight scene with Jon Favreau and Jennifer Esposito on the streets of New York when he saw the woman, a pedestrian, trip over a production cable. Latin beauty Jennifer Lopez will do everything she can to make sure her boyfriend SEAN "PUFFY" COMBS' acting debut is a success - even if it means staying up until 5:30 a. m. to watch the shoot. The rapper is currently in the So-Ho district of New York filming his first movie Made (2000) along side the film's writer/director Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. And girlfriend Lopez is putting her personal plans on hold to make sure she's on call whenever her bad-boy boyfriend needs some acting tips.
