One of the biggest box office surprises in 2013 was the comedy film "We're the Millers," which featured Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, and Will Poulter as a ragtag group of amateur drug smugglers posing as a family in the hopes of bringing home a massive payday. The road trip comedy was a huge financial success and is considered by many to be one of the very best films of Sudeikis' career. Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber ("Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story"), the film also features a knock-out supporting cast including Nick Offerman, Kathryn Hahn, Ed Helms, Molly Quinn, Luis Guzman, Thomas Lennon, Ken Marino, Tomer Sisley, Matthew Willig, and the feature film debut of Sam Richardson.

"Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" was a major commercial success when it first premiered in June 2004. At the time, the film grossed over $168 million worldwide against a $20 million budget. Its raunchy comedy, feel-good story, and hilarious cast helped make the movie a classic 2000s hit. Now, 19 years later, Deadline reports the film is officially getting a sequel, and yes, it'll star Vince Vaughn.
As you may remember, the original film starred Vaughn as Peter Lafleur, the owner of a small, local gym called Average Joe's Gym that's in danger of being taken over by his business rival White Goodman (Ben Stiller), who's the owner of the bigger Globo Gym across the street. When Peter hears about a dodgeball tournament that's giving away a $50,000 prize, he enters the competition with a group of misfits in hopes of using the prize money to save his business.

We’re not sure who asked for it, but Vince Vaughn is returning to star in a sequel to his 2004 comedy Dodgeball, reports Deadline.
The film is in early development stages at 20th Century Studios, with Jordan VanDina attached to write the script based on an idea from Vaughn. This isn’t the first time Vaughn has worked together with VanDina; the actor starred in The Binge, a 2020 parody of The Purge that was also penned by the writer.
At this time, there’s no word yet about whether Rawson Marshall Thurber — who wrote and directed the original Dodgeball — will be involved with the sequel. However, Thurber previously said “never say never” about expanding the Dodgeball universe. Vaughn, who will likely produce the movie, is the only actor currently attached.

When actors work so closely together, it’s not surprising when sparks fly, and an on-set romance begins. That’s how the love story between Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor began back in 1999. The couple met during filming on the unaired television pilot, Heat Vision and Jack. The following year, they got married. And though time has taken the couple down a complicated road, Stiller and Taylor reunited in large due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Mel McKeon and Laura Myones Ruf have been working side by side so long that it’s common they finish each other’s sentences. That comes in helpful, especially now, as the veteran talent managers have a lot to talk about.

If you were a movie-goer growing up in the early 2000s, you probably appreciate Justin Long. And you certainly should, given how underrated he is. Perhaps it’s not that he hasn’t done enough, but it feels like he doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as he should be. Just a little recap of some of his best performances, you early 2000s kids (including me) might remember him best as the gawkish teenager Justin in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. If that didn’t show his comedic chops as an actor, his signature leading role was Bartleby Gaines in Accepted, which

"Resident Alien" star Alan Tudyk has had a number of memorable roles throughout his career. In terms of movies, long-time fans look back fondly on the parts he played in "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," "A Knight's Tale," and "Tucker & Dale vs Evil." He even had that memorable guest spot on an episode of "Frasier" as the new owner of Kacl that Dr. Crane takes under his wing. Although, his most beloved role to date is probably still the fun-loving pilot Hoban "Wash" Washburne from Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and its feature film sequel "Serenity."
However, to many members of his modern fanbase, Tudyk is likely more known for his voiceover work. He can be heard in "Ice Age," "Batman: The Brave and the Bold," "Young Justice," "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and HBO's "Harley Quinn," among many other projects across film, TV, video games, and more. In the world of fiction, every character serves a purpose. For some unlucky characters, their only purpose in the narrative is to die.
These characters are sometimes known as "Redshirts," a term coined by "Star Trek" fans used to refer to the unfortunate ensigns who'd be sent along on a mission with the main cast members, their inevitable death just a plot device to raise the stakes of the episode. Death is a commonly used trope in film and television because it's a common experience in real life. A character's death can serve many purposes, whether it be illustrating the danger and severity of a situation or forcing another character to undergo change and growth. It works as a narrative tool, and so writers use it often.
It makes sense, then, that in Hollywood, you start to see some actors pushed into the Redshirt role more often than others. Actors...

Nearly two decades have passed since “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” hit theaters. And for teens of the early ‘00s, Rawson Marshall Thurber’s sports comedy remains a classic. In the film, Vince Vaughn faces off against Ben Stiller in a dodgeball tournament over the ownership of Vaughn’s gym. It’s a silly premise, but Stiller plays it up well as deranged Globogym owner White Goodman, and the supporting cast of Christine Taylor, Justin Long, Rip Torn, Alan Tudyk, and Stephen Root put the movie over the top.

It’s been 18 years since “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” opened in theaters, and the film remains a bonafide classic for a generation of moviegoers who were teenagers in the early 2000s. Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the sports comedy stars Vince Vaughn and a deranged Ben Stiller as rival gym owners who face off in a dodgeball tournament. The supporting cast includes Christine Taylor, Justin Long, Rip Torn, Stephen Root and Alan Tudyck. According to Long, a “Dodgeball” sequel idea has been been ironed out by Vaughn and is just waiting on Stiller’s approval.
“Of course I would love to do it and I hope that it ends up happening, but I think Ben [Stiller] is a little… what he told me on that podcast was that he’s a little trepidatious about doing a sequel to something so beloved, something that people enjoy so much,” Long told ComicBook.com...

Since its release nearly twenty years ago, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story has become a classic sports comedy… which of course has left fans begging for a sequel. Ben Stiller is making his family dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge any spoilers about “Severance” Season 2.
The director and executive producer of the Emmy-nominated AppleTV+ series revealed to People magazine that he asks kids Ella, 20, and Quinlin, 17, to be a “focus group” for “Severance” plotlines…but his family would much rather Stiller undergo a Lumon severed procedure to keep his work and home life separate and avoid any Season 2 spoilers.
“My kids were sort of the first test screening for me in terms of when I was editing episodes,” Stiller shared. “I would show them and they started to get into it. I showed them at different times, but it was fun to have them as kind of a focus group to see what they reacted to.”
Yet as Stiller works on Season 2, his kids don’t want any spoilers.

“I first learned about this show very casually at a Halloween party,” admits “Severance” composer Theodore Shapiro. “I was with Adam Scott, who I know because our kids go to school together. He mentioned that he was working on this series with Ben Stiller. He mentioned a little something about what the premise was and it sounded amazing. I sort of thought, ‘I hope I get that call.’ In late 2019 Ben called and told me about the series and he sent me a couple of scripts. It was immediately so thrilling and sparked so many ideas. I started writing themes immediately.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.

As the German series industry continues to change rapidly, young filmmakers who decided to leave the country are coming back, ready to tell their stories.

Thurber will write and direct the pilot script as well as executive produce the hourlong project, which has been garnering interest from multiple buyers.
Adapting Dungeons & Dragons for television has been “a big focus” for eOne following the company’s acquisition by Hasbro, eOne’s President of Global Television Michael Lombardo told Deadline in November.

It is a safe assumption that anyone with even a casual awareness of popular culture knows an Alan Tudyk performance.
For science fiction fans, Tudyk may be Wash from Firefly, or K-2So from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For fans of comic-book-based shows, he’s Joker and Clayface on Harley Quinn, or Mr. Nobody on Doom Patrol. Disney fans have their pick of comedic villains, and animal sidekicks. From comedies to drama to dramedy, Tudyk has one of the most recognizable and interesting careers in showbusiness.
But it is in his current role, on Syfy’s sci-fi comedy series Resident Alien, that Tudyk is receiving newfound recognition. Premiering its second season Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 9 p.m. Et, the show revolves around Tudyk’s extraterrestrial character who crash lands on our planet while trying to exterminate humanity. Adapted by Chris Sheridan from the Dark Horse comic of the same name,...

Lifting its title from Interpol’s most-wanted list, “Dodgeball” director Rawson Marshall Thurber’s twisty treasure-hunt lark “Red Notice” blurs the lines between good guys and bad guys, and instead focuses on which of two notorious art thieves is better at breaking the law: sarcastic master forger Nolan Booth (a reliably whiny Ryan Reynolds) or his upscale nemesis, known only as “the Bishop” (a more wine-and-diney Gal Gadot).
Their goal is to collect three ornamental orbs — worth some $300 million, but only as a set — originally gifted from Anthony to Cleopatra, then scattered to the corners of the globe.
