Netflix’s sci-fi thriller Atlas, starring Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, and Mark Strong, was released on May 24, 2024, and while it seemed like Netflix was going to have an action-packed hit in its library, the first reactions aren’t that great. The movie has been out for just a couple of hours now, and the critics had their say on the movie; from what we can infer from the initial reactions, the movie is actually – horrible! Based on several reviews, the movie has been declared Rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, as critics pan the movie. The initial audience reactions have yet to come in.
The movie was initially announced back in 2022, with principal photography beginning on August 26, 2022; the shooting ended in November 2022. Atlas is directed by Brad Peyton from a script by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite.

Arriving on the heels of “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” — a true milestone of superstar transparency where Jennifer Lopez expressed a clear-eyed view of her current career status — “Atlas” feels like an underwhelming return to the kind of projects that have maintained Lopez’ place in the Hollywood firmament, but not the ones that catapulted her there in the first place.
One of her few science fiction-themed films, its novelty alone should make it stand out, especially with Brad Peyton, a reliable purveyor of large-scale spectacle in the director’s chair. But a dearth of original ideas undercuts the appeal of “Atlas,” leaving Lopez to fend for herself in much the same way her character is forced to in the film’s formulaic story.
Lopez plays the title character, a coffee-addicted, “rigid and hostile” data analyst whose mother Val (Lana Parilla) developed the first artificial-intelligence being, Harlan (Simu Liu), when Atlas was just a child.

The Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling that became hugely popular with kids and young adults all over the world, gained iconic status when they were adapted into films. The blockbuster movies also made Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson huge stars and gave them their first foothold into the industry.

The three young actors who shared screen space together in 8 films, also formed a really close bond together over the years. This camaraderie turned out to be a pretty cringeworthy situation for Watson and Grint whose characters Ron and Hermione share a famous kiss in the final film. Watson even compared the moment to an incestuous relationship and revealed that it was one of the toughest scenes to do.

This article contains spoilers for "Battlestar Galactica."
15 years ago, on March 20, 2009, "Battlestar Galactica" concluded its run with the series finale "Daybreak," and man, what a frakkin' good show that was. A reboot of a short-lived 1970s series, "Battlestar Galactica" follows a starship fleet searching for the fabled planet Earth after humanity's home, the 12 Colonies of Man, are destroyed by their robotic creations, the Cylon. I was a little too young to watch "Galactica" weekly on its first airing, but thanks to the magic of Netflix, I downed the whole thing the summer before I entered high school.
It was the first show of that length that I watched from beginning to end. I love "Star Trek," but I'll always appreciate "Battlestar" for going further than even the Final Frontier dared push. "Battlestar" co-creator Ronald D. Moore got his start in TV writing on "Star Trek" and set out to make...

“At our initial meeting, he said, ‘Okay, not only is this going to be one of the most important parts you play, you’re also going to have the summer of your life and meet some of your best friends,’” Watson recalled to Entertainment Weekly.

There's no doubt that part of the infectious appeal of "Yellowstone" has to do with the show's no-nonsense, unbridled approach to storytelling. There's a wild unpredictability to Taylor Sheridan's smash hit neo-Western that keeps fans coming back week-to-week, not knowing what to expect. When "Yellowstone" isn't focusing on the political machinations occurring in the state of Montana, it's telling tales of murder and mayhem, with a little of sex thrown in for good measure.
Characters like Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) are decidedly R-rated, and they're much more interesting because of it. Due to the continuing lull and lack of new stories taking place under the "Yellowstone" banner, Paramount Network has continued to find new ways of getting their prize horse out of the stable so an even bigger swath of the population can find out what they've been missing. To do that, some of...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “The Idol” Episode 3, “Daybreak.”]
In a scene so subdued and intimate it feels like an interlude from the “The Idol’s” standard edgelord provocations, Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) sits smoking by the window with Chloe (Suzanna Son). The less famous singer and more devout Tedros Tedros follower asks her mirror image why she doesn’t sing about her late mother. “I feel like it’s not something anybody wants to hear about,” Jocelyn says. “Like that’s not what they want from me. […] I feel like the more you let people in, the more reason they have not to want you anymore.”
Jocelyn goes on to say that’s why she’s never sung about anything “truthful, or anything that really means anything to me.” Given what we later learn about Jocelyn’s relationship with her mom — the person who’s supposed to care, who’s supposed to want to know the real you,...

Daybreak is the title of the third episode of The Idol, and we definitely need a break after watching it. There are improvements in this episode in the middle section somewhere, but it all gets lost in the grand scheme of things. Overall, though, this episode has to be the best one till now if we had to make comparisons. The background score by The Weeknd was definitely a good move, and Lily-Rose Depp’s vulnerable moments have got to be her best. It is possibly the pacing of the episodes that is making it all seem a little too messy to actually make sense of the overarching theme of the “dark side” of the industry. Let’s get straight into the recap to make some sense out of the 3rd episode of The Idol.

‘The Idol’ Episode 3: Tedros Takes Control Over Jocelyn With a Sexual Shopping Spree and a Hairbrush
Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from the third episode of HBO’s “The Idol,” titled “Daybreak,” now streaming on Max.
The third episode of “The Idol” is here, and it further pushes the show’s already-salacious story, with a disturbing scene at the end that illustrates how thoroughly Jocelyn is under Tedros’ control.
“Daybreak” opens with the rat-tailed Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye) taking Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) out for a shopping spree and performing oral sex on her in the backseat of a convertible driven by her assistant Leia (Rachel Sennott). As he picks out skimpy clothing for Jocelyn to try on, Tedros threatens a sales associate: “Let me catch you looking at her again, I’ll fucking drag you down Rodeo. I’ll fucking curb-stomp you.”
We see Leia call Chaim (Hank Azaria) to express her concerns about Tedros’ growing power over Jocelyn. In a flashback to the morning,...

Adrian Chiles has shared his “horror” after learning that he has a “naked lookalike” on OnlyFans.
A recent cover of the Sunday Sport newspaper featured a social worker called Mike, who claims to make a living impersonating Chiles on the paid content website, which is often used by sex workers.

Writing in said column in The Guardian, the former The One Show host said that he’d been sent the cover online, describing how “the pictures featured an all but naked man with his bits obscured”.
“He looked a little like me,” Chiles wrote. “Gingerly, I expanded the image so I could read the text. As soon as I’d got the gist of the story, recoiling in horror, I pinched...

Akiva Goldsman is behind some pretty well-loved scripts, including "Practical Magic," "A Beautiful Mind," and the post-apocalypse flick, "I Am Legend." The 2007 adaptation of Richard Matheson's famous book of the same name was a massive success, taking in over $585 million worldwide at the box office. Goldsman inked a first-look deal with Warner Bros. and announced a handful of new projects to celebrate. One of those films is a sequel to "I Am Legend," with Michael B. Jordan joining Will Smith in the leading roles.
The first film takes place after a plague destroys all of humanity, turning folks that somehow survive into Darkseekers, vampiric, cannibalistic mutants that must avoid sunlight. Smith plays U.S. Army virologist Dr. Robert Neville, who lives an isolated life in a deserted Manhattan with his beloved German Shepard, Sam. Neville believes to be the only human left alive and spends most of his time desperately...

Love it or hate it, it’s kind of impossible to escape “Yellowstone.” The Paramount Network Western series, co-created and written by Taylor Sheridan, is one of the most popular series currently on television (and is a primetime Emmy nominee for Best Production Design). The series follows the Duttons, a Montana ranching family led by patriarch John (Kevin Costner). Alongside his three children, he’ll do whatever he has to in order to maintain his family’s ranch.
Because of how ubiquitous the show, which just wrapped the first part of Season 5, has become, it’s a good time to look back and celebrate the episodes that made “Yellowstone” the series it is today.
Here are the 10 best episodes of “Yellowstone.”
