- A very early side-scrolling space shooter.
- The famous shoot'em up series Thunder Force reaches its third installment. 8 new levels of non-stop action packed with gargantuan bosses.
- The Thunder Force saga continues in this video-game in which you must help to protect several planets from total destruction at the hands of a mad alien race looking to conquer the universe.
- The premise is that two opposing forces are in combat with one another. Each player controls a jet airplane which zooms across the screen and may turn into a ground based soldier. These ground soldiers can hurt enemy units, but can not affect bases. To take over bases scattered across the map (and ultimately, the enemy base), players must purchase new units and transport them to certain positions. In this way, the player acts more like a transport and management for different types of units rather than a combat character themselves. If the plane is ever destroyed, it restarts at the player's base location. As previously mentioned, a level is complete when either side's base is lost to the opposing forces.
- This installment, which occurs sometime after Thunder Force IV, takes us away from the conflict between the Galaxy Federation and the ORN Empire, this time taking place on Earth in the future. In the previous installment, Rynex was badly damaged after destroying its final target, forcing the pilot to eject. The damaged fighter drifted into the Sol System, and it was captured and studied by scientists. In the South Pacific Ocean, a large, unmanned artificial island named Babel was created, and then the supercomputer known as the Guardian was constructed. However, as research in Vasteel technology had advanced, Guardian suddenly achieved full consciousness and declared war on humanity. As a result, Cenes Crawford and her team of hotshot pilots have been sent to destroy the Guardian and its forces in order to save humanity.
- Eighteen years ago the planet Nebula was attacked by the Lone Star system, arch-enemy of the Interplanetary Federation. It's population decimated, the few survivors swore to protect its future with their lives. That time has come.
- Team Starblade is thrust to stop the enemy invasion, led by Mechanized Planet Red-Eye, from destroying the Mother Planet.
