- Twenty-one year old Leanna aspires to three C's: clothes, cocktails and clubbing. She knows she overspends, setting spending limits for herself, but ATMs and credit cards quickly puncture those thoughts. She lives at home rent-free, and sponges off her mom Debra, who provides her with her every need and many wants. She has further taken advantage of Debra by buying a $1,700 dog that she knows Debra did not want in the house and which Debra now has to clean up after, and making Debra clean up the post-clubbing vomit in the family car. She doesn't feel guilty about taking advantage of her mom as she knows she can afford it. Debra has even gotten Leanna a manufactured job just for her at the family business as an assistant to the receptionist, a job which Leanna seems to come and go as she pleases. Leanna has no set career goals, so far racking up $16,000 in tuition, $6,000 of which was Debra's money with the other $10,000 on student loans, on two programs which she has since decided are not her cup of tea. Gail wants Leanna to experience what it's like to be independent, which includes not working for her mom. She gives Leanna the exposure to professionals to test if Leanna is cut out for her latest chosen career, that of flight attendant. And Gail wants to see how much Leanna knows about her mom, or if she was just using her as a source of income.
