Suspects range from a criminal Williams had once put away to a former boyfriend who may have been stalking her. - When Longford and Mahajan are assigned the case of a woman bludgeoned to death, they're in for a few surprises. Upon further inspection, they discover that she was a he, a prominent drag queen in Detroit's drag circuit. Ardent admirers and jealous divas are among the likely suspects as the detectives explore the public and private sides of the victim's life. Elsewhere in Detroit, Fitch and Washington investigate an ex-con's confession that he killed two rival gang members in self-defense. Here too, things are not quite as they seem: There's a secret that the shooter isn't revealing, and it extends the case well beyond gang rivalry. Finally, a mysterious woman from Stone's past reappears just in time to complicate his budding relationship with Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Sanchez tries to find out the truth about Stone's junkie ex-girlfriend, Riley Sullivan, who is still hanging around the squad and trying to reignite her relationship with Stone. Is this as sincere attempt to get her life back together, or is she playing him? Then, a tense standoff results in a cataclysmic event.
- The devastating blows come left and right as Fitch, Washington, Stone and Sanchez invade the boxing world to investigate the death of Vanessa King. King's fiance, Tommy Westin, is preparing for a big match against Dap "The Detroit Hammer" Fields. The detectives discover Vanessa, an ex-girlfriend of Fields', was hiding a closely guarded secret which could have thrown the fight and its payday into question. Meanwhile, Longford and Mahajan are forced to give a cold case a fresh look: It's been five years since James Lakeland died. Now Lakeland's mother brings new evidence to the squad. A love triangle is uncovered and the detectives must piece together Lakeland's two lives, the one with his wife and daughter and the other with his married lover who has hidden a crucial piece of the puzzle all these years. The detectives are confronted with tough ethical issues in order to bring a resolution to the case.
- Covin and Wysocki try to connect the shooting that killed Betz on Alderman Gibbons, but the investigation takes an unexpected turn. Meanwhile, Betz's family may not get help from the city because he was not wearing his vest.
- An explosive event sets the stage for emotional shifts in the lives of the detectives: Fitch tries to rebuild his relationship with his 12-year-old son, Bobby; Longford begins the paperwork needed for his retirement; Washington focuses on his newborn son; Mahajan retreats further from an arranged marriage, and Sanchez may be contemplating a new relationship. Finally, when Fitch's ex-wife flies to Detroit to leave their son for a planned visit, she drops some shocking news on her ex. Little does Fitch know that he, his son and the other detectives will soon all be in great jeopardy.

Dunn goes looking for her sister and turns to her boss for help. Finley takes Clarenbach to FBI headquarters and shows him some of the information they have. He recognizes the kidnap house from a drawing and knows where it is. He wants a deal before he reveals anything. Gibson meanwhile has contacted one of the parents, Jakob Vries, and sends him after Clarenbach.
- John investigates what's really going on in Salem as the fear of witches living in the town escalates. Mary puts her plans into action.
- The police have found Jin Lao's body and realize Gibson is sending a message to the other parents. At the kidnap house, Ian tells Beth Ann what he saw her father do but assures her the kidnappers made him kill Jin Lao. Gibson needs more time for Jonas to finish the serum and so contacts another parent, a neo-Nazi who quickly sets off with half a brick of plastic explosive. The FBI manage to trace Gibson's call to its destination and they soon surround the kidnap house. Throughout it all, Gibson seems calm and determined, as if his plan is rolling out exactly as planned.
- Finley is forced to go inside the mansion as part of a hostage exchange. In an effort to trick the world into believing he is innocent, Gibson takes extreme measures and sets his sight on a new target for his next parent mission. With Meg's help, Gibson enacts a piece of his plan that will bring out the truth about the soldier program.
- The tables have turned. Gibson finds himself on a mission orchestrated by Beth Ann's kidnapper, who insists Gibson publicly confess to his crimes at a ceremony with the President and First Lady. Meanwhile, Ian receives a cryptic message that sends him and Amber on a dangerous mission. Elsewhere, Finleyand Dunn attempt to stop a threat and stumble upon a shocking revelation.
