Hosted by "Entertainment Tonight" anchor Nischelle Turner, the event will include a number of very exciting guest speakers and performers. Some prominent figures who'll converse with Turner about Black affairs are Leon W. Russell, Chairman from the NAACP National Board of Directors; Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of NAACP; and Bishop T.D. Jakes. Then, a discussion on the current issues the Black community is facing will commence. This will consist of breaking down social media moments regarding social injustices that have been brought to light recently such as George Floyd's killing and much more. Viewers will also enjoy performances from Mykal Kilgore, Maranda Curtis, Kierra Sheard, and Captain Kirk Douglas. Messages from celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Bill Bellamy, Deon Cole, J. August Richards, Ledisi, Rahne Jones, Jonathyn Adams and more will also be aired. On June 19, 1865; Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and told the last remaining Confederate sympathizers, who had no idea at the time, that they were free and the north won the Civil War. On such a day, REVOLT is more than proud to celebrate with our people in partnership with the NAACP.
