- From Africa, the continent of breathtaking vistas and primitive beauty, changing mood and character, comes an epic story of two warring tribes, told with a little assistance from an author, (Jan Michael Vincent) and his brother, an official (Maxwell Caulfield) of the United Nations - who keep a close scrutiny on the situation. Into the heart of Zululand, domain of tribal custom, proud nobility and forgotten Kings, the exciting, but simple tale of IP TOMBI ("Where are the Girls?"), focuses on a young tribesman, 'Prince', (O'Neil Johnson) who prepares to wed the King's daughter - a marriage arrangement to attempt peace in the region. The King's brother, ('Scarface"), hungry for monarchy, is cultivating the conflict. And so, with help from a bad witch doctor, ancient ritual and African magic, the innocent young groom's destiny is altered, and he loses his bride He leaves his homeland to seek fame and fortune in the city. But, here he encounters disappointment, corruption and... "Duke" (Henry Cele), the shady, power-wielding owner of the 'Ipi Tombi' nightclub. In this venue of vibrant, hip-swinging, foot-stamping modern township-jive that is unique to Africa, 'Prince' falls in love with the cabaret-singer, 'Angel' (Nana Moloi). The love tryst renders him victim of 'Duke's' wrath and 'hoods', which he escapes during the happy mayhem of 'Mama Tembu's' famous wedding celebration. Where are the Girls?" - at home of course. Taking 'Angel' with him, Prince returns to his homeland where she meets her 'mystery' father, the King. The emotional introduction, followed by a colorful wedding ceremony, explodes into a throbbing festivity of more music and riotous dance and ultimate reunion of the feuding tribes. Action-packed from flag fall to finish, at the heart of IPI TOMBI is the beat of the African rhythm. Featuring thousands of high-kicking warriors, performing tribal dance routines in brilliant ethnic costume, to the pulsating, world-famous music score that made the stage production an overnight hit. From Africa, her people, her music, a timeless story of love and peace.... to the infectious, irresistible pounding of a different drum!
