- Louise is determined to continue working as a detective, and when a couple is found brutally murdered, she takes on the case. She helps Frederik Havgaard, the chief investigator, who thinks he knows who the killer is.
- Louise finds Björn's little sister, Maria. Maria's colleague suggests that Louise mentor the young woman. Frederik visits the municipality of Breiðablik, where Björn lived with his mother and María.
- The police are putting more emphasis on the search for Birni after the last murder. Frederik and Louise uncover Björn's past after an informative search at Pelle's.
- Another crime is committed and Frederik is convinced that Björn is the perpetrator. Louise points to another criminal career. Björn looks for Louise and wants to share with her knowledge that could close the case.
- Louise is moved to Aarhus and plans to start a new life there, but events from the past are recalled when she meets Frederik again. He tells her about a new criminal case where a disabled woman was found dead.
- Louise and Frederik discover a connection between Björn and Alberte. Louise moves to the commune on a secret errand and soon notices the ravishing leader, Jóni, who has a special relationship with Alberte.
- Louise's disguise is compromised. In the meantime, Frederik discovers that one of Jón's old friends, who also owned Breidablik, died in a mysterious fire.
- Louise and Frederik pressure Jón to take responsibility for his actions, but once again he takes advantage of his relationship with Alberte. Louise deals with her past and finds inner peace.
