- The festival takes place since 2002, first in Valenca and now permanently in Raleigh, and is the successor to the Santa Clarita International Film Festival. It's mission is to promote socially responsible films and screenplays that express a fundamental respect for the positive values of life.
- The IFFF award trophy has been designed by internationally acclaimed artist/sculpturer Shlomi Haziza.
