Amazing movies. Check them out. - DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodViggo MortensenIan McKellenGandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron's army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.*****I CONSIDER THE THREE LOTR MOVIES ONE MOVIE SEPERATED BY THREE PARTS. SO THIS WILL BE ONE COMBINED SHORT SUMMARY OF LOTR*****
This movie has one of the strongest stories of the 2000's. The characters are very interesting, and developed, the battle sequences are epic, and it FINALLY has a non annoying CGI character. I've read the books and I think J.R.R Tolkien would be happy to see that his movies are being translated to the big screen, even with some minor changes to the books. - DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroCathy MoriartyJoe PesciThe life of boxer Jake LaMotta, whose violence and temper that led him to the top in the ring destroyed his life outside of it.Strong story, loads of emotion, great acting from Robert De Niro, and Three, scratch that, FOUR dimensional characters.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJohn TravoltaUma ThurmanSamuel L. JacksonThe lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.*****THIS REPESENTS ALL TARANTINO MOVIES*****
His movies may be violent, but he is a great director/writer/producer. Some of my Favorites are:
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Kill Bill 1+2
4. Inglorious Basterds
5. Jackie Brown
One of the few great living, active directors, whether you like him or not. - DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsMarlon BrandoAl PacinoJames CaanThe aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.*****THIS IS FOR ALL GODFATHER MOVIES, YES, EVEN THE THIRD ONE*****
About Part III, I don't think it should be shunned away from the others because while the story was slighty weaker, the characters are still quite intriguing except for ONE MAJOR PERSON: Sofia Coppola's character. She is also not a very good actress. Other than these problems, The Godfather Part III is good, if not as great as the first two - DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroRay LiottaJoe PesciThe story of Henry Hill and his life in the mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito.Great characters, Strong story, and some very good acting. Why didn't this win Best Picture?
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsLiam NeesonRalph FiennesBen KingsleyIn German-occupied Poland during World War II, industrialist Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis. This movie is uncriticizable. You cannot criticize this movie. It is literally flawless. Nothing about this movie is bad/bland. I almost forgot these were actors, and that's good for a movie.
- DirectorTerry GilliamStarsJohnny DeppBenicio Del ToroTobey MaguireAn oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades. If you saw my top 10 weirdest movies/TV shows. I told you this is one of my favorite movies. I loved Johnny Depp as Raoul Duke, that role was just made for him. Benicio Del Toro is also a pretty good actor. The characters are interesting despite being on drugs. The story is a little fast paced but only a little bit.
- DirectorAlan ParkerStarsBob GeldofChristine HargreavesJames LaurensonA confined but troubled rock star descends into madness in the midst of his physical and social isolation from everyone.Very gripping, the songs are very emotional, Pink is a very well developed character, and the story is absolutely excellent. If you are a Pink Floyd fan or not, you will enjoy this movie.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsHarrison FordRutger HauerSean YoungA blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.*****THIS IS ONLY FOR THE FINAL CUT*****
The story is imaginative, intriguing, and very cool. Decent character development, but some very good acting from Harrison Ford, and the guy who plays the Blonde Replicant. - DirectorZack SnyderStarsJackie Earle HaleyPatrick WilsonCarla GuginoIn a version of 1985 where superheroes exist, the murder of a colleague sends active vigilante Rorschach on the trail of a conspiracy that will change the course of history.Like Eyes Wide Shut (loved), or the passion of the christ (hated), this movie has 2 sides of the fence. I fall on the loved it side. The characters are interesting the story is consistent and strong, and I found the theme very interesting. Is the morality of superheroes truly overlooked? Is there something we're missing? Do they ever do wrong? Watch the Watchmen today!
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonJack NicholsonKim BasingerThe Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker.Only 3 Batman movies are on this list (Batman, Batman Returns, and The Dark Knight).
Dark, edgy, cool characters, and some neat action sequences. The Joker for both Batman, and The Dark Knight were both really cool (I liked the Heath Ledger Joker a bit more). - DirectorGeorge LucasStarsMark HamillHarrison FordCarrie FisherLuke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a Wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the mysterious Darth Vader.*****ONLY FOR THE ORIGINAL, UNALTERED TRILOGY*****
Amazing story, amazing visuals, amazing characters (except for C3PO, who is annoying, and a little prissy if you ask me). - DirectorBrian De PalmaStarsAl PacinoMichelle PfeifferSteven BauerIn 1980 Miami, a determined Cuban immigrant takes over a drug cartel and succumbs to greed.Excellent Story, some very good, memorable characters. Although the story snorted a veeeerrry long line of coke in the 3rd act (I swear everything fell apart and became *beep* crazy). But still, Scarface is one of those classic gangster movies that you can't miss.
- CreatorGraham ChapmanEric IdleTerry JonesStarsGraham ChapmanJohn CleeseTerry GilliamThe original surreal sketch comedy showcase for the Monty Python troupe.*****THIS IS ALL OF THE MONTY PYTHON MOVIES*****
They are really, really funny. Their movies are my favorite comedies. It's silly, and laugh out loud funny - DirectorWilliam FriedkinStarsEllen BurstynMax von SydowLinda BlairWhen a young girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two Catholic priests to save her life.I'm an atheist and this still scares me! Linda Blair/Mercedes McCambirdge's acting are some of the best in a horror movie. The Director actually scared them so the characters would have more emotion. It worked.
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsHenry ThomasDrew BarrymorePeter CoyoteA troubled child summons the courage to help a friendly alien escape from Earth and return to his home planet. The Classic tearjerker. This is one of Steven Spielberg's best movies. Also, don't see the Walkie Talkie edition of ET (The so called "Special Edition")
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsSigourney WeaverTom SkerrittJohn HurtThe crew of a commercial spacecraft encounters a deadly lifeform after investigating a mysterious transmission of unknown origin.****THE FIRST TWO ALIEN MOVIES*****
Also pretty unnerving. Not much atmosphere (no pun intended), but the characters are very developed (despite the fact that two characters are androids). Sigourney Weaver is by far the best actress. - DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsHarrison FordKaren AllenPaul FreemanIn 1936, archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the U.S. government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can obtain its awesome powers.*****ALL INDIANA JONES MOVIES EXCEPT FOR CRYSTAL SKULL*****
I love Indiana Jones. There are some great characters, really cool action scenes, and some very beautiful set designs. - DirectorDavid FincherStarsBrad PittEdward NortonMeat LoafAn insomniac office worker and a devil-may-care soap maker form an underground fight club that evolves into much more. It's cool. Edward Norton is a very good actor. This movie was interesting.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsDonald PleasenceJamie Lee CurtisTony MoranFifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again.*****ONLY THE FIRST TWO MOVIES ARE ON HERE*****
Ulike, most slasher movies, this oe had a strong leading woman who was also a pretty good role model. Donald Pleasance is also a pretty good actor. RIP Moustapha Akkad. :( - DirectorJonathan DemmeStarsJodie FosterAnthony HopkinsScott GlennA young F.B.I. cadet must receive the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims.*****THIS REPRESENTS SotL and RED DRAGON*****
Silence of the Lambs: Great story and and excellent chracters, especially Buffalo Bill, Clarice Starling and, of course, Hannibal Lecter.
Red Dragon: This one was scarier than the previous movies. Hannibal Lecter is much scarier in this movie than in the Silence of the Lambs. But who really steals the show is Dolarhyde. He is scary, demented, twisted, everything a serial killer has to offer. But I didn't think the story was very strong. Still, I liked it.
Hannibal: Nope, this was stupid, gross, lurid, and unecessarily gory - DirectorTim BurtonStarsJohnny DeppHelena Bonham CarterAlan RickmanThe legendary tale of a barber who returns from wrongful imprisonment to 1840s London, bent on revenge for the rape and death of his wife, and resumes his trade while forming a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett.A lot of people didn't like this movie for some reason, why? Alan Rickman, and Johnny Depp were both pretty good actors. The songs were also pretty nice (except for one or two). It had good pacing. What's wrong with it?
- DirectorLarry CharlesStarsSacha Baron CohenKen DavitianLuenellKazakh TV talking head Borat is dispatched to the United States to report on the greatest country in the world.Sacha Baron Cohen is a very good actor, the humour, while shocking at times, is pretty funny.
