- DirectorJames AlgarSamuel ArmstrongFord Beebe Jr.StarsLeopold StokowskiDeems TaylorThe Philadelphia OrchestraA series of eight famous pieces of classical music, conducted by Leopold Stokowski and interpreted in animation by Walt Disney's team of artists.I've told you about this in my top 10 favorite musicals so I won't really go into a lot of detail. Fantasia is my favorite disney movie, because it's truly unlike any disney movie, or any movie for that matter. It has some truly defining music and great animated sequences to go with it too.
- DirectorGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsDemi MooreJason AlexanderMary Kay BergmanA deformed bell-ringer must assert his independence from a vicious government minister in order to help his friend, a gypsy dancer.I've talked about this before so look in my top 10 underrated movies.
- DirectorGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsPaige O'HaraRobby BensonJesse CortiA prince cursed to spend his days as a hideous monster sets out to regain his humanity by earning a young woman's love. While I'm not a big fan of Disney Princess movies, this one is just flawless. The characters are very developed (especially the Beast himself). The movie is pretty much Disney's comeback success. This movie also had a very surprising villain, and a very surprising hero. The songs are also very well written, and even catchy sometimes.
- DirectorHenry SelickStarsDanny ElfmanChris SarandonCatherine O'HaraJack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but his attempts to bring Christmas to his home causes confusion.I love this one. The idea of crossing over two holidays is just creative. Danyy Elfman created some killer songs, the story is good, and the characters are very interesting.
- DirectorRoger AllersRob MinkoffStarsMatthew BroderickJeremy IronsJames Earl JonesLion prince Simba and his father are targeted by his bitter uncle, who wants to ascend the throne himself.Great, emotional movie. The songs are very nice, the story is pretty great too, and Mufasa's death is also one of the saddest movie moments. This was also the first Disney movies with all animals (Bambi doesn't count due to the unseen hunter). Another Disney comeback.
- DirectorGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsMichael J. FoxJim VarneyCorey BurtonA young linguist named Milo Thatch joins an intrepid group of explorers to find the mysterious lost continent of Atlantis. This film got mixed reviews and did poorly at the box office, but I really liked it. I thought it was good that Disney was departing from their musical numbers and princesses, and started exploring excellent animation, and character detail. I found this movie very creative.
- DirectorClyde GeronimiWilfred JacksonHamilton LuskeStarsKathryn BeaumontEd WynnRichard HaydnAlice stumbles into the world of Wonderland. Will she get home? Not if the Queen of Hearts has her way. Also unlike most disney movies, Alice In Wonderland had some pretty weird, sometimes psychedelic moments. It is wild, crazy, insane, and over the top for any Disney movie. The story stays faithful to Louis Caroll's masterpiece while still making Liberites of it's own.
- DirectorWolfgang ReithermanDavid HandStarsBrian BedfordPhil HarrisRoger MillerThe story of the legendary British outlaw portrayed with the characters as anthropomorphic animals. One of my favorite vigilantes comes to life in this wonderful Disney adaptation. The characters are developed, the songs are ok, and the story is also pretty strong for an animated film.
- DirectorClyde GeronimiHamilton LuskeWolfgang ReithermanStarsRod TaylorBetty Lou GersonJ. Pat O'MalleyWhen a litter of Dalmatian puppies are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the owners must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement.absolutely phenomenal. This film marks the beginning of one of my favorite animators, Don Bluth's career. Cruella Deville is....insane, the story is good, the one song about cruella Deville is catchy. The story is nice. Overall, great.
- DirectorWolfgang ReithermanStarsPhil HarrisSebastian CabotLouis PrimaBagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.Baloo, the monkeys, and Shere Khan are some of my favorite Disney characters. The song Bear Necessities is one of my favorite disney songs. The story is faithful to Rudyard Kiplings masterpiece.
