Oscar Snubs & Surprises of the Last 10 Years17 of 24
With 2 Oscar wins and 6 other nominations, 'Dreamgirls' was a shoo-in Best Picture nominee after winning the Golden Globe and Satellite Award, and with 'Chicago's Best Picture win 4 years ago, musicals were very on-trend with Academy voters. After garnering a surprise nomination in 1999 for quite a simple role in 'The Sixth Sense', Toni Colette was expected her second nomination for the critically acclaimed 'Little Miss Sunshine'. It was down to Colette and Emily Blunt (for 'The Devil Wears Prada') for that last place in the Supporting Actress race, but they were both beaten to it by 10 year old Abigail Breslin.
