Oscars Category Misplacements

by penchofifteenpolls | created - 25 Nov 2015 | updated - 15 Mar 2016 | Public

The Academy of Motion Pictures has a long history of nominating actors in the wrong categories.

Often called category frauds, these nominations are due to for your consideration campaigns set to place a lead role in the supporting category where they are supposed to have a better chance of winning. It can be to avoid vote splitting with another lead, to place a relatively unknown actor competing without big names, or simply due to the age of the performer.

While the academy has no obligation to follow these campaings, and they could nominate the actors in the right category, this rarely happens, and over the years the list of misplaced actors grows.

Which leading actor or actress nominated as supporting do you find to be the worst misplacement?
