Very topical for Kenya and drone warfare. They get several things right discussing Westgate Mall and University attacks from Al-Shabaab. I was really impressed with the editing here. The movie is constantly cutting to show you different vantage points from different locations. You are constantly having to assess the story line based on the vantage point you are watching the events. In reality I don't think Helen Mirren's character would act so trigger happy and I wish that Alan Rickman's final role had had more to do. I think the film is very topical and it was great to see Barkhad Abdi find work again.

The only time I laughed in this film is when a mother bird regurgitates the food she is eating into her children's lunch bags. Otherwise I really hated this film. There is absolutely no suspense and you are guaranteed to know how it starts and ends. Pigs steal the birds eggs and the birds steal them back. I kept thinking i needed to be on lithium to watch this and that only audience I would want watching this is some very slow learning children. Every bird and pig pun was used in the screenplay and none of it felt funny, fun or original.

This is by far the most *beep* up Danish film I have ever seen. Mads Mikkelsen is hardly recognizable as a mutated, retard who we find out his DNA is part bull. Basically two brothers discover on their father's death that their biological father was a geneticist and live on some remote island in Denmark. The two travel there and discover they have three deformed brothers who are very aggressive and express themselves by striking each other with any blunt object including taxidermy. The final discovery is that all five men have the same father but their father modified all of their DNA and so all of them are part animal (dog, chicken, bull, owl, mouse). Ypu don't even realize that these characters are personifying their animal personas until the end of the film. It's all very strange. I didn't care for any one particular scene all the there was enough suspense to keep me watching until the end. I kept thinking this was like the Danish version of Grey Gardens that had been made by Sacha Baren Cohen. The moments that are meant to be touching and heartfelt really aren't and I left feeling nothing other than I had witnessed a really bizarre film.
