- CreatorVictor CookSteve DitkoStan LeeStarsJosh KeatonLacey ChabertJoshua LeBarAn animated television show that focuses on a sixteen-year-old Peter Parker, and the origins of Spider-Man.Out of all the unfairly cancelled shows out there, this just so happens to be the one that frustrates me the most. Not only is it the best Spider-Man cartoon, but it also just so happens to be the single greatest "adaptation" of Spider-Man that we've ever had. It had an eye-pleasing and stylized art style, creative action scenes that are utilized through a character's different abilities, brilliant character designs, and lots of love letters to the fans (especially considering the people making the show were fans themselves). But the writing was easily what made the show Spidey's best incarnation, it just feels so real and superbly captures what it would be like if he existed in real life. But sadly, due to Disney buying Marvel, Sony lost Spidey's TV rights and were unable to continue the show, even after ending on one of the single most shocking cliffhangers ever. It's often been said that Disney could buy the rights to the show to keep it going if they wanted, but they find it unnecessary to buy the rights to a show from a rival company that stars a character they now own the rights to, which has usually been referred to as the sole reason the show is going to remain dead whether we like it or not.
- StarsEric LoomisColleen O'ShaughnesseyBrian BloomAfter 74 villains break out of prison, Marvel's most powerful superheroes team up to capture all of them, and also to defend the Earth from widespread threats. This is essentially Marvel's answer to Justice League Unlimited. It takes all these beloved characters we've grown to love over the years, put them in almost cinematic stories, fleshes them out to the point that they feel like real people, and expands upon the universe they live in. Sadly, due to the success of the MCU, Disney felt it necessary to produce a bunch of shows that can act as 20-minute promotions for the movies, so EMH was cancelled and replaced by Avengers Assemble. This cancellation had also proven the point that DC is the winner when it comes to making high-quality animated shows, not only did Marvel have to constantly switch between different studios that owned the rights to them before Disney bought them, but Disney is a company that has 3 major requirements, 1-heavy censorship, 2-nostalgia bait, and 3-lots and lots of money. The only reason Marvel has finally become the most mainstream superhero company is because of its movies, henceforth why all their animated shows have to be 20-minute promotions for them. DC never had to deal with any of the issues Marvel went through for their animated shows because they've been owned by Warner Bros since the 1969, a studio that encourages all forms of creativity for people of all ages and isn't obsessed with highlighting one specific version of DC everyone is familiar with.
- StarsSteve BlumJim WardNolan NorthAfter an explosion at the school, the X-Men went their separate ways. But they must unite once again under the leadership of Wolverine to prevent an inevitable war while also dealing with present problems. This isn't a personal favorite of mine but it's quite a shame that despite how good it was it only lasted one season, so they should totally have kept it going longer than it did. Fox was producing the show at the time so because of when Disney bought Marvel, Fox lost the TV rights to the X-Men. Plus without spoiling anything a huge plot threat popped up at the end of the last episode so it's pretty unfair to not let the show continue after that. However with Disney having recently bought Fox (the studio that was producing the show), maybe there's still a chance for it to come back.
- CreatorJhonen VasquezStarsAndy BermanRichard Steven HorvitzRikki SimonsAn alien named Zim from the planet Irk is sent on a secret mission to conquer Earth, not realising that his leaders were just trying to get rid of him and hoped that he would die. Once there, Zim manages to disguise himself as a human child, but one boy named Dib sees through his disguise. When I first watched this show, I began to have questions about how my reality works and whether or not it's justified for it to be that way, but I mean that in the best way possible. This was cancelled because Nickelodeon deemed it being "too controversial," which doesn't make much sense considering they've allowed Ren & Stimpy and the worst episodes of SpongeBob to do whatever they want. But ZIM deserves more tales of however he plans to enslave the filthy humans of Earth, I bet the way this could go down will end up being both very dark and very funny.
- CreatorAlex HirschStarsJason RitterAlex HirschKristen SchaalTwin siblings Dipper and Mabel Pines spend the summer at their great-uncle's tourist trap in the enigmatic Gravity Falls, Oregon. The show was originally not intended to only last 2 seasons. The only reason it ended so soon was because Alex Hirsch was afraid that the show would get cancelled at a point where he wouldn't have wanted to, so he decided to end the show "before" Disney could cancel it. That was definitely a smart move but the show does still deserve more stories and episodes, especially considering that Hirsch actually is interested in doing more.
- CreatorPeter GaffneyButch HartmanSteve MarmelStarsDavid KaufmanGrey GriffinRickey D'Shon CollinsA 14-year-old receives ghost powers and uses them to save the world.Even though Fairly Oddparents dragged on far too long we definitely didn't get enough adventures with Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz. Butch Hartman has actually stated that he's considering doing a 10-year-later story arc, which already sounds perfect. I'd love to see Danny at a point in his life where he's been doing the whole Ghostbusting business for about a decade and what role his friends now play in helping him.
- CreatorTom WarburtonStarsBen DiskinDee Bradley BakerLauren TomThe adventures of a group of ten-year-old friends who fight for the right to do everything that adults restrict from them. There was originally supposed to be a "sequel" series that was uploaded online and even has the original voice actors reprising their roles in it. It's just a storyboard presentation of something that happens right after the show's last episode, someone tell Cartoon Network to pick that back up and finish it.
- CreatorTom RueggerStarsPaul RuggDavid KaufmanJoe LeahyWashington, D.C. has a new defender: Freakazoid. The comedy and insanity never stop when he's around, and he's only one of the weird heroes of the series. It's better than a nice tub of good things.Airing during the golden age of Warner Bros cartoons it definitely has been growing a cult following over the years. Much like The Tick, this show is a parody of common everyday superhero tropes we're used to seeing and at the same time it's very self aware and the characters even state that the staff doesn't always know what they're doing at times but in a good way. The creators themselves thought it was actually heartbreaking to end the show after the second season, but with the popularity it's been growing in recent years surely we could get more laughs from Freakazoid and the rest of the gang any day.
- CreatorBryan AndrewsPaul RudishGenndy TartakovskyStarsTara StrongKevin ThomsBrian PosehnThree young alien beings with the ability to form a giant robotic warrior attempt to blend into suburbia, all while battling the tyrannical forces that ravaged their home world.Due to a lack of merchandise to serve as funding towards the show's budget coupled with the death of Toys R Us, this show couldn't keep its budget up for any potential future episodes. But with its entertaining jokes of people from a different planet misunderstanding Earth culture, strong action scenes, and compelling story arcs, this is truly worthy of finishing what it started. Besides, if Samurai Jack was lucky enough to get revived to wrap up the story, so could this.
- CreatorDavid SlackBob HaneyBruno PremianiStarsHynden WalchGreg CipesScott MenvilleA team of five teenaged superheroes save the world from many villains around their city while experiencing things normal teens face today. You actually don't have to watch the unintentional last episode of the show, it feels more like what could've been the opening of season 6. But its multi-layered characters and other opportunities for other concepts and stories to tell and share make it worthy of getting its 6th season.
- CreatorTodd McFarlaneAlan B. McElroyStarsKeith DavidRichard DysartDominique JenningsAfter being betrayed and murdered by his employer, a government assassin is resurrected as a Hellspawn and is forced to act as the reluctant leader of Hell's army.Honorable mention: This was cancelled for being deemed too controversial for live TV, but my solution is to have this released on HBO Max or have it be a home video exclusive with new episodes on the way. Afterall, Todd MacFarlane is both one of the greatest comic artists and writers out there.
