- CreatorGraham YostStarsTimothy OlyphantNick SearcyJoelle CarterEnforcing his own brand of justice, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, a strong-willed, quiet law-man haunted by his past, returns to his native town to see that justice is served to those in need. The character growth from series to series is excellent. Boyd is still my number 1 with Raylan sitting at no.2. Each episode is interesting and the over-riding storyline engrossing. A series without padding and the reduced airtime for Winona is a plus to the storyline if not to the eye.
- CreatorStephen CarpenterDavid GreenwaltJim KoufStarsDavid GiuntoliRussell HornsbySilas Weir MitchellA homicide detective discovers he is a descendant of hunters who fight supernatural forces.Season 2 hasn't lived up to the incredible level of season 1 but nonetheless it is still a remarkable series. The Captain's character has an increasing role which is good. Monroe continues to excell but Nick has stalled a little with the Julieete storyline becoming monotonous. Wu is also outstanding. Give us more creatures and less love story. This is the best Fantasy series on the market at the moment, by far.
- CreatorRobert DohertyStarsJonny Lee MillerLucy LiuAidan QuinnA crime-solving duo that cracks the NYPD's most impossible cases. Following his fall from grace in London, eccentric Sherlock escapes to New York where his father forces him to live with his worst nightmare - a sober companion, Dr. Watson.A nice surprise. An American Sherlock series that maintains a high standard throughout the first season. There are certainly hints of Dr. House in the central character, which is not a bad thing and a lady Watson is well handled by Lucy Liu. The timing is strange given the incredible British Sherlock recently unveiled and whilst this series is no match for that it has given us 20+ episodes of entertaining drama whilst the other Sherlock only comes up with very short mini seasons.
- CreatorMichael HirstStarsKatheryn WinnickGustaf SkarsgårdAlexander LudwigVikings transports us to the brutal and mysterious world of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore--and raid--the distant shores across the ocean. What a wonderful series from the History channel. Beautiful to look at as well as educational and entertaining. I can't praise this series enough. There are a number of excellent characters, maybe it doesn't need to slip into the latest fad of soft porn scenes invading US TV series at the moemnt but other than that fantastic.
- CreatorAnthony HorowitzStarsMichael KitchenHoneysuckle WeeksAnthony HowellAs WWII rages, DCS Foyle fights his own war on the home-front; investigating crime on the south coast of England. Later series, see the retired detective working as an MI5 agent in the aftermath of the war. After a 3 year hiatus and what appeared to be the end of Foyle this new season has appeared and maintained the previous high level entertainment. British Crime Drama again hits the heights. And Foyle is uniquely British and phlegmatic.
- CreatorPeter FlanneryStarsMartin ShawLee InglebySimon HubbardWith the help of DS John Bacchus, Inspector George Gently spends his days bringing to justice members of the criminal underworld who are unfortunate enough to have the intrepid investigator assigned to their cases.Another great British period detective. George Gently is fantastic, set in the late 60's Martin Shaw again provides great character depth as his sidekick John Bacchus further develops. the only negative is that again it's a short season, quality not quantity - just a shame we can't have both.
- StarsShaun EvansRoger AllamJames BradshawSet from 1965 into the 1970s, the show follows Endeavour Morse in his early years as a police constable. Working alongside his senior partner DI Fred Thursday, Morse engages in a number of investigations around Oxford. The young Morse. It was brave to make a series as a prequel to te great Morse but it has proven to be a good decision. set in the 60's in Oxford as opposed to the 60's oop north for George Gently, the scenery and architecture along with the music are atmospheric and beautiful. The storylines engaging and captivating. Evans as young Morse is great as is his DI Fred Thursday. Only the chief superintendant lets down a believable cast and storyline.
- StarsEmilia FoxDavid CavesWilliam GaminaraA team of exceptional forensic pathologists and scientists investigate heinous crimes and use their skills to catch the people responsible.A 16th season which maintained the standards of earlier seasons. It missed the great Harry Cunningham character in this season but I believe he'll be back for season 17 as season 16 sees the exit of another leading character. All the stories remained captivating.
- CreatorFrank DarabontStarsAndrew LincolnNorman ReedusMelissa McBrideSheriff Deputy Rick Grimes wakes up from a coma to learn the world is in ruins and must lead a group of survivors to stay alive.I'm only on Season 2, I found season 1 a little up and down but season 2 has started much better and has got me looking forward to the next episode again.
- StarsKevin WhatelyLaurence FoxClare HolmanDI Robert Lewis and DS James Hathaway solve the tough cases that the learned inhabitants of Oxford throw at them. This final season was good but did not live upto previous seasons, mostly because of the lack of screen time for Hathaway , in my opinion. Perhaps it's for the best that the series is now shleved.
