Through the Never has two distinct parts, between which it alternates throughout the film. First, a runner working a Metallica concert in town, running around a city in the midst of tearing itself apart. Second, the concert itself. The narrative portion of the film is well-photographed, but the 3D doesn't serve to make it more engaging. The concert, on the other hand, is a whole different story. Wow. It is a stunning thing to behold. 3D is the perfect way to shoot a Metallica stadium show (which is done in-the-round). They put cameras all over, getting just about every angle imaginable. It's awesome.
