The background for both lists is, that we often hear that movies are dominated by characters from the upper classes; kings, princesses, presidents, capitalists, media stars and the like, and while it is certainly true that the upper class dominates the movie industry disproportionally, lets not forget that many many movies takes on a different perspective. I made this list too, because I found that many films takes the perspective or centre around people from lower parts of society, but for example feature periods before the rise of the working class. These films are for example about slaves, poor peasants or the like.
