Many scenes were deleted, some others were re-shot and added, these includes over the top nightmare sequences and death scenes.
- DirectorShane BlackStarsBoyd HolbrookTrevante RhodesJacob TremblayWhen a young boy accidentally triggers the universe's most lethal hunters' return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled scientist can prevent the end of the human race.Shane Black's original cut was butchered by 20th Century Fox studio which made the final theatrical cut into a mess, and that's not including the fact that movie went through some massive re-shoots, which included filming entire new third act. Black said that he wanted to include all the deleted scenes on Blu-Ray releases, but Fox refused, which further shows how much they want to avoid being blamed for ruining what should have a been a much better film. Only deleted footage which is available to see are many glimpses of it in all the trailers.

- DirectorStephen HopkinsStarsDanny GloverGary BuseyKevin Peter HallThe Predator returns to Earth, this time to stake a claim on the war-torn streets of a dystopian Los Angeles.First movie that got NC-17 rating. It was submitted to the MPAA around 20 times and it kept getting cut for R rating. There were some other scenes and plot parts which got deleted for pacing. It's been mentioned that 15 or 20 minutes were cut for these reasons.

- DirectorSteve MinerStarsBetsy PalmerAmy SteelJohn FureyFive years after the events of the first film, a summer camp next to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake is preparing to open, but the legend of Jason is weighing heavy on the proceedings. My second favourite Friday The 13th movie. Original X rated version is one of the horror movies that i'm sure fans would definitely like to see.
- DirectorJoseph ZitoStarsErich AndersonJudie AronsonPeter BartonAfter being announced dead and taken to a morgue, Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives, escapes from the hospital, and stalks a group of friends renting a house in the countryside near Crystal Lake.My favourite Friday The 13th movie. Most of the stuff that was cut for R rating was shown in some special DVD features but i would love to see all of it put back in movie.
- DirectorDanny SteinmannStarsMelanie KinnamanJohn ShepherdAnthony BarrileStill haunted by his past, Tommy Jarvis, who, as a child, killed Jason Voorhees, is sent to a secluded halfway house in the countryside, where the killing of a young man triggers a brutal series of murders in the area. After part 7, the most heavily cut Friday The 13th sequel. It was submitted to the MPAA nine times before it got R rating. Cut scenes include girl killed with machete stab between the legs and what is said to be longer sex scene in woods which was almost like something out of softcore porn.
- DirectorTom McLoughlinStarsThom MathewsJennifer CookeDavid KagenTommy Jarvis exhumes Jason Voorhees to cremate his corpse, but inadvertently brings him back to life instead. The newly revived killer seeks revenge, and Tommy may be the only one who can stop him. Some scenes were cut for R rating, also some scenes were deleted and couple alternate endings were filmed.
- DirectorJohn Carl BuechlerStarsTerry KiserJennifer BankoJohn OtrinJason Voorhees is accidentally freed from his watery prison by a telekinetic teenager. Now, only she can stop him. What it's said to be most heavily cut Friday The 13th sequel. Just like part 5, it was also submitted to the MPAA nine times before it finally got R rating. It's been confirmed by director that uncut version will never be released, but since workprint with uncut scenes was discovered, maybe there is a way to see some uncut version get released.
- DirectorDwight H. LittleStarsDonald PleasenceEllie CornellDanielle HarrisTen years after his original massacre, the invalid Michael Myers awakens on Halloween Eve and returns to Haddonfield to kill his seven-year-old niece. Can Dr. Loomis stop him?Reportedly, lot of scenes were deleted or cut down, there are rumors that 15 or 30 minutes were deleted from movie. There were also some MPAA cuts made.
- DirectorRobert RodriguezStarsHarvey KeitelGeorge ClooneyJuliette LewisTwo criminals and their hostages unknowingly seek temporary refuge in a truck stop populated by vampires, with chaotic results.Second half of the movie where main characters fight with vampires was heavily cut for R rating. I saw the workprint that has uncut footage and i think that uncut version should definitely be released.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsSigourney WeaverTom SkerrittJohn HurtThe crew of a commercial spacecraft encounters a deadly lifeform after investigating a mysterious transmission of unknown origin.Ridley Scott's original cut was bloodier but it was cut down because of the orders by studio, negative reactions of test audience and probably to avoid X rating.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsSigourney WeaverCharles S. DuttonCharles DanceReturning from LV-426, Ellen Ripley crash-lands on the maximum-security prison Fiorina 161, where she discovers that she has unwittingly brought along an unwelcome visitor. Some graphic scenes were cut for R rating. These include longer autopsy scene of little girl and bloodier death scenes.
- DirectorJohn LandisStarsDavid NaughtonJenny AgutterJoe BelcherTwo American college students on a walking tour of Britain are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists. Some graphic scenes were deleted because of the MPAA and preview audience reactions.
- DirectorJohn MiliusStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerJames Earl JonesMax von SydowA powerful warrior seeks to avenge the genocide of his people and the murder of his parents at the hands of a snake cult.Heavily cut for R rating. Most of the violent scenes from the movie were cut down, rumour is that 5 minutes were cut to avoid X rating. Also lot of scenes were deleted, probably to make the movie shorter.
- DirectorJohn HughesStarsEmilio EstevezJudd NelsonMolly RingwaldFive high school students meet in Saturday detention and discover how they have a great deal more in common than they thought.Original cut was 150 minutes long. Fans of the director and movie really want to see this version, but apparently only copy of it is on old workprint that director watched from time to time.
- DirectorJohn HughesStarsMatthew BroderickAlan RuckMia SaraA popular high school student, admired by his peers, decides to take a day off from school and goes to extreme lengths to pull it off, to the chagrin of his Dean, who'll do anything to stop him.Original cut was 165 minutes long. I read shooting script that has all the deleted scenes and i can honestly say that i would love to see this version, cause besides some extra characters and comedy scenes, there were couple of interesting scenes which would change the way audience would look at character of Ferris Buller.
- DirectorAlex ProyasStarsBrandon LeeMichael WincottRochelle DavisA man brutally murdered comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée's murder. Many scenes were deleted or re-shot after on set accident when Brandon Lee died. While some of the deleted scenes were included on special edition, there are more scenes which were never released.
- DirectorJohn WooStarsJohn TravoltaChristian SlaterSamantha MathisTerrorists steal nuclear warheads from the U.S. military but don't count on a pilot and park ranger spoiling their plans.Just like Hard Target and Mission Impossible 2, this is yet another John Woo film that suffered studio interference and cuts for ratings. Woo's original cut was about 2 hours long and it had some more character development scenes and more violence in action scenes.
- DirectorRobert RodriguezStarsAntonio BanderasSalma HayekJoaquim de AlmeidaFormer musician and gunslinger El Mariachi arrives at a small Mexican border town after being away for a long time. His past quickly catches up with him and he soon gets entangled with the local drug kingpin Bucho and his gang.Heavily cut to avoid NC-17 rating. Cut scenes include longer sex scene, longer and bloodier deaths and additional shootout in the ending.
- DirectorSam PeckinpahStarsWilliam HoldenErnest BorgnineRobert RyanAn aging group of outlaws look for one last big score as the "traditional" American West is disappearing around them.Sam Peckinpah's original cut was around 4 hours long and it was more bloodier and more violent.
- DirectorAndrey KonchalovskiyAlbert MagnoliStarsSylvester StalloneKurt RussellTeri HatcherFramed by their ruthless arch-nemesis, a pair of mismatched LAPD officers must put their differences aside to get even with the brutal crime baron who sent them to rot in a maximum-security prison.Movie was constantly being re-edited in post production before it was released. Because of this, some scenes were deleted.
- DirectorTony ScottStarsBruce WillisDamon WayansChelsea FieldA private detective's protected female witness is murdered, prompting him and the victim's boyfriend to investigate the crime that leads to a corrupt politician and a crooked football team owner.Already suffering from big interference in the final product by main actor Bruce Willis and producer Joel Silver, original cut/workprint of the film was considered to be so bad and unwatchable that Warner Bros took the movie away from director Tony Scott and hired editor Stuart Baird to heavily re-edit the entire film. While i wouldn't mind seeing Scott's original workprint, what i would really like to see is the full uncut version of the film since besides being re-edited in attempt to make it better, movie was also heavily cut for R rating after it originally got NC-17. It's very obvious when watching the film that violent scenes are cut to shreds.
- DirectorMarco BrambillaStarsSylvester StalloneWesley SnipesSandra BullockA police officer is brought out of suspended animation in prison to pursue an old ultra-violent nemesis who is loose in a non-violent future society.Just like with Tango & Cash, Warner Bros. didn't like first cut so they brought editor Stuart Baird to re-edit the movie. Originally over 2 hours long, Demolition Man originally had more plot parts and more action scenes.
- DirectorRachel TalalayStarsLori PettyIce-TNaomi WattsA girl is among the few survivors of a dystopian Earth. Riding a war tank, she fights against the tyranny of a mega-corporation that dominates the remaining potable water supply of the planet.Director Rachel Talalay had to fight with MGM studio over the editing of the movie. Unfortunately, she ended up having to re-cut the movie quite severely after some test screenings which actually didn't had very bad reactions by audience but MGM just didn't care about the movie which they also couldn't understand which is why they ordered her to delete some scenes and do some other re-editing. According to Talalay there was about an hour of footage that was cut out. Although some deleted scenes did surface over time, full original cut was never released.
- DirectorDavid NutterStarsJames MarsdenKatie HolmesNick StahlThe new kid in Cradle Bay, Washington stumbles across something sinister about the town's method of transforming its unruly teens into upstanding citizens. This solid teen thriller was unfortunately a victim of severe studio interference. Although first test screening had good enough response from audience MGM studio still demanded for it to be heavily re-cut and for lot of the scenes involving plot parts and character scenes to be cut out to make the movie shorter and to film new sequel bait ending, which was changed also because test audiences didn't like original sadder ending in which Gavin dies. DVD release has 11 deleted scenes and original ending included as bonus but these scenes are not everything that was deleted. Original director's cut was 115 minutes long which means that there is approximately 12 or more minutes of scenes missing. There is a fanedit of the film which is available online and is 103 minutes long (theatrical version is 83 minutes long), it includes all deleted scenes and original ending and is much closer to director's version of the film.
- DirectorTony MaylamStarsRutger HauerKim CattrallAlastair DuncanIn a flooded future London, Detective Harley Stone hunts a serial killer who murdered his partner, and has haunted him ever since. He soon discovers what he is hunting might not be human. Some scenes, including additional murders and dream sequences were deleted from the movie, which probably explains its short running time. Rumour is that there are some rare extended versions that include some of the deleted scenes.
- DirectorPaul W.S. AndersonStarsLaurence FishburneSam NeillKathleen QuinlanA rescue crew is tasked with investigating the mysterious reappearance of a spaceship that had been lost for seven years.Originally 130 minutes long. Some scenes were deleted for pacing, but there was also lot more violence and gore that was cut because of the MPAA and negative reactions of audience during test screenings. There were also few different endings filmed.
- DirectorRobert ResnikoffStarsLou Diamond PhillipsTracy GriffithJeff KoberA dedicated L.A. police detective and a psychic must stop a demonic serial killer who was given the powers of resurrection, teleportation and possession. This underrated but still a cult supernatural thriller starring Lou Diamond Phillips originally had different ending which instead in sewers took place in some warehouse and was lot less action packed. Following the successful test screening producers gave the filmmakers some money and short amount of time to film the new, more exciting ending and unfortunately to add the awful sequel bait bit at the very end. Not much is known about original ending and does it still exists but there are many stills showing parts of it and some other deleted scenes.
- DirectorMike FiggisStarsRichard GereAndy GarciaNancy TravisAn Internal Affairs agent becomes obsessed with bringing down a cop who has managed to maintain a spotless reputation despite being involved in a web of corruption.Original ending of the movie which had different version of final showdown between two main characters was changed after audience in the test screening of original cut didn't like it. Theatrical trailer shows several parts of the original ending and some other deleted scenes.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsMichael DouglasAndy GarciaKen TakakuraTwo NYC cops arrest a Yakuza member and must escort him when he's extradited to Japan.Ridley Scott's first cut of the movie was 160 minutes long. It included some more plot parts and character scenes and original ending where main hero kills villain by impaling him on spike.
- DirectorDwight H. LittleStarsSteven SeagalJoanna PaculaBasil WallaceA retired DEA agent is out to hunt down and take out a Jamaican drug posse that has targeted he and his family for murder. Some scenes were deleted and there is high suspicion amongst fans that it was cut for R rating.
- DirectorJohn FlynnStarsSteven SeagalWilliam ForsytheJerry OrbachWith his partner executed in broad daylight by a psychotic mafia enforcer, a veteran Brooklyn officer vows revenge. But is the unstoppable detective prepared to face the truth and pay the price of blood?Originally, before Warner Bros. and Steven Seagal re-edited the movie, it was lot longer and it included more plot and characters.
- DirectorGraham BakerStarsJames CaanMandy PatinkinTerence StampIn 1988, Earth makes the first contact with an alien civilization. In 1991, these aliens, known as Newcomers, slowly begin to be integrated into human society after three years of quarantine.Movie was heavily re-edited before theatrical release. Based on original script, some character development scenes were cut, some other scenes were re-edited (which is very obvious when watching the film) and couple action scenes were deleted.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsEddie MurphyNick NolteBrion JamesJack Cates once again enlists the aid of ex-con Reggie Hammond - this time to take down The Iceman, a ruthless drug lord operating in the San Francisco bay area.Heavily re-edited week before theatrical release. Original workprint was 145 minutes long and it had scenes which could help with the plot holes that released theatrical version has.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsNick NoltePowers BootheMichael IronsideA Texas Ranger and a ruthless narcotics kingpin - they were childhood friends, now they are adversaries...Original cut of the movie was around two and a half hours long. Entire subplot involving additional CIA character played by actor Andrew Robinson was cut for length issues. Many other scenes were deleted for same reasons. Final shootout was cut down by director. There is a high suspicion that movie was cut for R rating.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsNick NolteEddie MurphyAnnette O'TooleA hard-nosed cop reluctantly teams up with a wise-cracking criminal temporarily paroled to him in order to track down a killer. Some scenes were deleted, rumour is that there were two deleted nude scenes where Annette O'Toole was topless.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerJim BelushiPeter BoyleA tough Russian policeman is forced to partner up with a cocky Chicago police detective when he is sent to Chicago to apprehend a Georgian drug lord who killed his partner and fled the country. Some scenes were deleted. Example, there are pictures that show Schwarzenegger lifting weights and fighting with one of the inmates in deleted prison fight scene.
- DirectorMark L. LesterStarsDolph LundgrenBrandon LeeCary-Hiroyuki TagawaTwo L.A. cops with opposing views on what is the best way to uphold the law have to work together to bring down the Yakuza, while trying to protect a beautiful woman. After viewing first cut of the movie, in their typical habit Warner Bros. demanded re-editing to make it shorter. Most of the scenes that were cut include lot more character development scenes.
- DirectorRenny HarlinStarsSylvester StalloneJohn LithgowMichael RookerA botched mid-air heist results in suitcases full of cash being searched for by various groups throughout the Rocky Mountains.Couple of action scenes were cut because they didn't look good or were thought to be unbelievable by test audience, also almost every violent scene was cut down for R rating.
- DirectorDeran SarafianStarsChristopher LambertMario Van PeeblesDenis LearyUSD400,000,000 is stolen and a drug lord wants it back. The killed thief's brother is broken out of prison by a DEA bounty hunter to help find the money boat. The body count continues in Latin America. This fun and very underrated action comedy stars Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles, who have really great chemistry with one another, as two guys who have to stick with each other and try and keep each other alive while searching for $400 million belonging to big drug dealer. Sadly, not only that this film got poor release and wasn't successful, but almost all DVD releases are presented in EXTREMELY *beep* cropped 1.33:1 pan and scan format when movie was originally filmed in 2.35:1 widescreen, and source that was used for DVD is also not that good with picture quality. Besides that, this movie was tinkered with by Miramax studio who cut it down by five minutes removing some of the violence and language just to "make it more appealing to the general movie going audience." This movie really deserves to be released in uncut widescreen DVD/Blu-Ray. It has a cult following and many fans, all of who want to see it in better version.
- DirectorBrian G. HuttonStarsClint EastwoodTelly SavalasDon RicklesA group of U.S. soldiers sneaks across enemy lines in WWII France to get their hands on a secret stash of Nazi treasure. One of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies. Based on couple of different sources, either 20 or 45 minutes was cut out from movie. Eastwood himself said in interviews that he was very dissapointed after movie was cut because lot of good scenes which would make the movie even better were deleted.
- DirectorRowdy HerringtonStarsPatrick SwayzeKelly LynchSam ElliottA bouncer hired to clean up the baddest honkytonk in a Missouri town. Armed with a black belt in karate and a degree in philosophy, Patrick Swayze sets out to tame the Double Deuce for its owner. This 80's classic was originally two and a half hours long. Some of the cut scenes include lot more scenes with Keith David (the "Double Deuce" bartender Ernie Bass) including more dialogue scenes between him and Patrick Swayze's character Dalton, Dalton making the other bouncers wear ballet outfits and dance as part of their training, there is also a still picture showing Dalton fighting with Ketchum (guy with knife-boot) inside the Double Deuce in a different fight than the one in the film, and theatrical trailer shows quite a few deleted and extended scenes.
- DirectorJohn MiliusStarsPatrick SwayzeC. Thomas HowellLea ThompsonIt is the dawn of World War III. In the west mountains of America, a group of teenagers band together to defend their town, and their country, from invading Soviet forces. Some scenes, including couple of love scenes, were deleted.
- DirectorJeffrey BloomStarsLouise FletcherVictoria TennantKristy SwansonChildren are hidden away under an attic by their conspiring mother and grandmother.Original cut of the movie was longer and besides more scenes focusing on plot it was more graphic with more scenes focusing on incestuous relationship between two main characters, brother and sister. It also had more nudity and violence. All this was cut by producers and studios after audience during test screening of original cut reported that they didn't like all the incest, nudity and violence in the film, and movie was further cut down to 90 minutes by studios after they practically gave up from it and cut it to be shorter and to have more theatrical screenings, and they made sure to cut even the slightest hints of "sensitive content" in order to make sure that movie gets PG-13 rating. Original ending was also changed by studios and was not written or filmed by original director who walked off from the movie when they took it away from him. There are also reports of some other alternate endings being shown in various test screenings.
- DirectorAlan ParkerStarsMickey RourkeRobert De NiroLisa BonetA private investigator is hired by a man who calls himself Louis Cyphre to track down a singer named Johnny Favorite. But the investigation takes an unexpected and somber turn. Some scenes were deleted, including couple of graphic deaths and lot longer orgy scene.
- DirectorMarek KanievskaStarsAndrew McCarthyJami GertzRobert Downey Jr.A college freshman returns to L.A. for the holidays at his ex-girlfriend's request, but discovers that his former best friend has an out-of-control drug habit. This powerful adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' novel deals with problems of drug addiction in very disturbing way, and thanks to Robert Downey Jr's incredible performance the suffering that his character goes through is very believable. Movie was originally even stronger and edgier, before 20th Century Fox took it away from director and made cuts in order to soften it up and then further changes were made after some negative response by audience during test screening. One of the cut scenes included the music group Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- DirectorJoe DanteStarsEthan HawkeRiver PhoenixBobby FiteA boy obsessed with '50s sci-fi movies about aliens has a recurring dream about a blueprint of some kind, which he draws for his inventor friend. With the help of a third kid, they follow it and build themselves a spaceship. Now what?Director Joe Dante's original rough cut of the movie was around 3 hours and 15 minutes long before studio made him stop with the editing because they decided to release the movie much earlier than it was planned, which is why the final (theatrical) version of the movie is often considered to be a "workprint".
- DirectorAdrian LyneStarsJennifer BealsMichael NouriLilia SkalaAn 18-year-old female amateur dancer who performs nightly at a dancing bar, and works as a welder during the day, dreams of joining the Pittsburgh ballet school.Original cut was around two and a half hours long but because of the orders by producers it was cut down to 90-some minutes.
- DirectorAdam WingardStarsDan StevensSheila KelleyMaika MonroeA soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.Original rough cut was over twenty minutes longer than the final theatrical cut. After this version was screened to a test audience, it was cut down to the running time very close to the runtime of the theatrical cut. After another test screening, the audience was confused at the sudden arrival of Major Richard Carver and his team at the Peterson home, which is why some scenes with Carver at KPG headquarters were added in final cut of the film. Some of the scenes which were cut down or deleted completely after test screenings were scenes which explained what exactly main character "David" is, what happened to him, why he does some of the things he does in the film, and more details and information about the KPG program that he was involved in. These scenes were cut because the test audience felt that all of it was just too much information. Even director and screenwriter admitted that they hated explaining "David's" character and his background because they always wanted to leave much of the information about him ambiguous, which is why they were glad that those scenes were disliked by the test screening audience and had to be cut out of the film. Still though, as a huge fan of the film i would like to see the full original cut. There are few deleted and alternate scenes included on DVD/Blu-Ray of the film but they are not everything that was cut out.
- DirectorWes CravenStarsChristina RicciJesse EisenbergPortia de RossiA werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes the lives of three young adults who, after being mauled by the beast, learn they must kill it in order to avoid becoming werewolves themselves.Originally, Cursed was almost completely different movie with different plot, actors and even the special effects. Original script was 150 pages long and after reading it, it's obvious that this was meant to be much better movie. But only about 90% of original intended version was filmed, only thing that wasn't was the original scripted ending.
Although during the filming of the original version he said to Wes Craven that he was happy with the film, infamous producer Bob Weinstein later changed his opinion and ordered for the movie to be almost completely re-shot and for new plot to be included. Due to the re-shoots many cast members were cut entirely, including Skeet Ulrich who was originally playing one of the main roles but after finding out how his character was gonna be changed he quit from the film, Mandy Moore, Omar Epps, Illeana Douglas, Heather Langenkamp, Scott Foley, Robert Forster, James Brolin and Corey Feldman.
After massive re-shoots which included filming newly written ending Weinstein told Craven that he didn't like it so another ending was filmed in which Jake attacks Ellie and Jimmy in their home, despite the fact that it makes no sense with rest of the movie. It was added because Miramax and Weinstein wanted for ending to be like ending of the Scream, in which boyfriend of main actress turns out to be villain.
Rick Baker did the werewolf effects for the original version of the film but once Bob Weinstein and Miramax ordered re-shoots all the scenes with Baker's effects were deleted and KNB had to took over. But even most of their work didn't made it into the final film because Miramax and Bob Weinstein thought that their effects didn't look good so they added lot of CGI into the film to cover up all the practical effects, like death scenes and almost all the werewolf scenes.
Although there is a high chance that original version still exists and could be released, it still won't be full complete film because it was never finished and it would probably look like very rough workprint. - DirectorTim PopeStarsVincent PerezMia KirshnerRichard BrooksThe spirit of the Crow resurrects another man seeking revenge for the murder of his son.Original workprint was 160 minutes long and it had lot of scenes which could actually help the movie.
- DirectorJohn McTiernanMichael CrichtonStarsAntonio BanderasDiane VenoraDennis StorhøiA man, having fallen in love with the wrong woman, is sent by the sultan himself on a diplomatic mission to a distant land as an ambassador. Stopping at a Viking village port to restock on supplies, he finds himself unwittingly embroiled in a quest to banish a mysterious threat in a distant Viking land.Original John McTiernan's cut was 127 minutes long and it was different than the theatrical version.
- DirectorWalter HillFrancis Ford CoppolaJack SholderStarsJames SpaderPeter FacinelliRobin TunneyA deep space rescue and recovery spaceship with a crew of 6 receives a distress call from a mining operation 3432 light years away. A rescue operation via dimension jump is made. Bad idea. Not exactly the best movie ever (and that's saying it mildly) but it's also not that bad, in best case it is solid time waster. MGM studio decided to show director Walter Hill's rough cut to test audience against his wishes because movie was still not finished and it didn't had any special effects sequences which they still had to add. After test screening turned out to be huge disaster and because he was fed up with constant studio interference, Hill left the production and had his name removed from the movie. Another director Jack Sholder was called in for some re-shoots and re-editing but MGM studio also didn't liked his version. Although Francis Ford Coppola was brought in to re-edit the movie and try to make it better, it still wasn't well received by audience at test screening and later when movie was eventually released in theatres it was huge box office bomb. Movie does have small cult following and fans have expressed their wish to see Walter Hill's original cut which was never released, although some deleted scenes were included on DVD/Blu-Ray editions of the movie.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsBruce WillisBruce DernWilliam SandersonA drifting gunslinger-for-hire finds himself in the middle of an ongoing war between the Irish and Italian mafia in a Prohibition era ghost town.Walter Hill's original cut was over two hours long. Some scenes were deleted, some others were cut down or re-edited for final theatrical version, there was also an alternate ending. Trailers and promotional stills show lot of deleted and alternate scenes including additional shootout sequence between two gangs.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsRyan O'NealBruce DernIsabelle AdjaniA getaway driver becomes the latest assignment for a tenacious detective.Although there are some people who think it's not true, rumor about how Walter Hill's original cut was over two hours (possibly 131 minutes) long is true. There weren't more car chase scenes although there was additional small shootout scene. Most of the deleted scenes focused more on characters and plot, and some of the same type of scenes which are still in the movie were originally longer. Couple scenes including female nudity and some of the violence (like the death of The Connection character) were cut, possibly for lower rating. Theatrical trailer shows some deleted and extended scenes.
- DirectorJohn WooStarsTom CruiseDougray ScottThandiwe NewtonIMF agent Ethan Hunt is sent to Sydney to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called "Chimera".Director John Woo's original cut was three and a half hours long and it was rated R with more action and violence. Unfortunately, only theatrical trailer shows some bits of deleted scenes. I think that despite some criticism from fans this is still a very good and well made action movie that deserves special edition with all uncut and deleted footage included back in.
- DirectorMartin BrestStarsRobert De NiroCharles GrodinYaphet KottoA bounty hunter pursues a former Mafia accountant who is also being chased by a rival bounty hunter, the F.B.I., and his old mob boss after jumping bail.Based on original shooting script and the fact how every single trailer shows lot of deleted, extended and alternate scenes, this film probably had some cuts in order to be shorter. Considering how the movie is little over two hours long, it's possible that some heavy editing was done to keep the running time down.
- DirectorJames IsaacDavid BlythStarsLance HenriksenBrion JamesRita TaggartDetective McCarthy finally catches "Meat Cleaver Max", a serial killer, who promises revenge during his execution. Nonetheless, a parapsychologist tells the detective that the only hope of stopping Max for good is to destroy his spirit.MPAA butchered this movie a lot more than the killer from it butchered his victims. Although there is one European DVD version with few extra scenes of gore and violence, full uncut version of the movie was never released. Cut scenes include teenage boy's dead body cut in half and man ripping his chest open and pulling his heart out.
- DirectorRussell MulcahyStarsDenzel WashingtonJohn LithgowIce-TA District Attorney is terrorized by the criminal he put away years ago when he was a cop.Although it's already known that scene where Blake physically abuses Styles until he pukes was cut from the movie after preview audience reacted very negatively to watching a white man torture a black man, there are many reports from people who were members of test screening audience which all claim that movie was even more violent and that version that was released is heavily cut.
- DirectorRingo LamStarsChow Yun-FatSimon YamAnn BridgewaterTwo disreputable friends get tied in with a group of criminals who turn out to be excessively violent and deceptive. This very and undeservedly underrated, badass as fk action film by Ringo Lam and starring Chow Yun Fat had quite nasty scene in the original cut; In the scene after the car chase where he forces him to go and kill Gou Fei, Judge also tells Sam to bring him Gou Fei's eyes as proof of his death. Sam can't kill Gou Fei, so he cuts the eyes out of one of the bodies of the family in the house. Judge takes the eyes and eats them. This was also a payoff of the scene from earlier in the movie where Judge compliments Gou Fei's "pretty eyes" when they first meet. If you watch Sam in the normal versions of the film, as he comes out of the house you can see his right hand is clenched and holding something - the eyes, of course.
- DirectorWalter HillStarsBill PaxtonIce-TWilliam SadlerTwo firemen in a burning building get a treasure map - stolen gold church items are hidden in a closed down factory in St. Louis. Once there, they're trapped in by a black gang considering it their territory.Although there is a DVD release which has few deleted scenes as bonus feature, for some reason alternate ending which was filmed during production was never released. In this alternate ending Raymond (the pimp guy) is not killed by Savon but instead he gets shot in the leg by Vince who along with Bradlee escapes in Raymond's Jaguar and they turn the gold to the police. Even the ending that was chosen for theatrical release had to be slightly changed when black audience members during test screenings expressed dissatisfaction because both Ice-T and Ice Cube's characters died, which is why in the final theatrical version death of Ice Cube's character Savon is not shown, to sort of imply that his character might have survived the explosion and fire. Also the original script and movie had different title, The Looters, and a completely different score which was composed by jazz musician John Zorn but Walter Hill disliked it and had his friend Ry Cooder to re-score the entire film.
- DirectorRenny HarlinStarsRobert EnglundRodney EastmanJohn BeckmanFreddy Krueger returns once again to terrorize the dreams of the remaining Dream Warriors, as well as those of a young woman who may be able to defeat him for good.Director Renny Harlin's original cut of the film was considered to be way too campy and ridiculous by Robert Shaye and New Line Cinema, so much so that they made sure that no deleted footage from the film ever gets released. Despite attempts from fans, only clues of some deleted scenes are small bits shown in trailers and on promotional stills, and original script is only way to find out which scenes were cut out.
- DirectorTom HollandStarsCatherine HicksChris SarandonAlex VincentA struggling single mother unknowingly gifts her son a doll imbued with a serial killer's consciousness.Original workprint is said to be over 2 hours long, but some reports mention that it was near 3 hours long. Lot of interesting scenes were deleted.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsLiam NeesonFrances McDormandColin FrielsA brilliant scientist left for dead returns to exact revenge on the people who burned him alive.Studio re-edited the movie because they didn't like Sam Raimi's rough cut. Some plot parts were deleted.
- DirectorWilliam FriedkinStarsAl PacinoPaul SorvinoKaren AllenA police officer goes undercover in the underground S&M gay subculture of New York City to catch a serial killer who is preying on gay men.William Friedkin's original cut of this infamous cult thriller was around 140 minutes long. For a longest time Friedkin claimed that missing 40 minutes were cut because MPAA kept giving the movie X rating and how United Artists studio destroyed all the deleted footage. Rumors about 40 minutes of cuts made for R rating were later proven to be false although it was also confirmed that there were indeed some nasty scenes that were cut either for rating issues or other reasons and some parts of the plot were also cut.

Betrayed and set up by the federal agents, the only person he can trust is Ryan, a Chicago cop who reminds Jake of his deceased father.Very solid action movie with late great Brandon Lee. Some scenes were deleted, one of them is fight scene between Brandon and some soldiers which can be seen in theatrical and TV trailers.
- DirectorJohn SchlesingerStarsDustin HoffmanLaurence OlivierRoy ScheiderAfter the shocking murder of his older brother, a New York history student finds himself inexplicably hounded by shadowy government agents on the trail of a Nazi war criminal who is trying to retrieve smuggled diamonds.Besides infamous dental torture scene, some other graphic scenes were cut down or deleted because preview audience thought that they were too much.
- DirectorSergio LeoneStarsRod SteigerJames CoburnRomolo ValliA low-life bandit and an I.R.A. explosives expert rebel against the government and become heroes of the Mexican Revolution.Although this cult Sergio Leone film is already 157 minutes long, it was originally even longer. Some of the more famous deleted and possibly lost scenes are John being forced to walk through the desert by Juan and his kids after blowing up their home and scene where Villega is tortured by Colonel Reza.
- DirectorJack CardiffStarsRod TaylorYvette MimieuxPeter CarstenA band of mercenaries led by Captain Curry travel through war-torn Congo across deadly terrain, battling rival armies, to steal $50 million in uncut diamonds. But infighting, sadistic rebels and a time lock jeopardize everything.Lot of violence was cut out from the movie prior to theatrical release. Cut scenes include rebels raping nuns and throwing them to the crocodiles, male on male gang rape, main hero ripping the heart out of his enemy after the fight between them in the ending and bitting a huge chunk from it and eating it.
- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsMatt DillonMickey RourkeDiane LaneAbsent-minded street thug Rusty James struggles to live up to his legendary older brother's reputation, and longs for the days of gang warfare.Although there is that infamous rumor about how there exists (or did at one point in time) an eight hours long bootleg version of this underrated Francis Ford Coppola film, actor Mickey Rourke said in interview that there was actually five hours long rough cut which was cut down to 94 minutes for theatrical release. Special edition DVD only has six deleted scenes which if put back into the film would probably make it like two hours long. There are however some interesting rumors amongst the fans of the film regarding never released deleted scenes, which would be interesting to see.
- DirectorDanny CannonStarsSylvester StalloneArmand AssanteRob SchneiderIn a dystopian future, Joseph Dredd, the most famous Judge (a police officer with instant field judiciary powers), is convicted for a crime he did not commit and must face his murderous counterpart.Pretty average action/Stallone film with great score and not much anything else worth of watch, but i would still love to see original cut which was like half an hour longer, was rated NC-17 and had to be cut five times just to get R rating! Considering how movie was then further cut by studio and Stallone in attempts to get PG-13 rating which only hurt the film, i think that seeing all the juicy stuff that was cut would be great since movie does feels like it's PG-13 although it has R rating. Couple of the sequences that were cut because of the violence and gore are scene where big ABC warrior robot kills a guy by ripping his arms and legs off and scene in the ending where Dredd shoots the clone judges after they wake up.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroSharon StoneJoe PesciIn Las Vegas, two best friends - a casino executive and a mafia enforcer - compete for a gambling empire and a fast-living, fast-loving socialite.Heavily cut for R rating. Besides infamous vice torture and baseball beating scene in the ending, most of the other graphic scenes were cut.
- DirectorJohn FrankenheimerStarsTalia ShireRobert FoxworthArmand AssanteA government health inspector is dispatched to assess the damage a logging company is causing to a patch of forest claimed by Native Americans, and comes face to face with true terror wreaking havoc in the woods.Director himself cut out several gorier parts of the movie for some reason. There are pictures of some deleted scenes and notes about some others.
- DirectorHarold RamisStarsChevy ChaseRodney DangerfieldBill MurrayAn exclusive golf course has to deal with a flatulent new member and a destructive dancing gopher.Original rough cut of the movie was either four and a half or five hours long, and according to lot of the people who were involved in the production of the film, it was very bad, so much so that they had to do hire new editor to severely re-cut the movie down to more reasonable length and even after heavy editing some re-shoots had to be done to fix up the movie. Some old TV versions of the film had two short and one longer deleted scene included in it and other than some others which can be glimpsed in theatrical and TV trailers and on some stills, till this day these remain only deleted scenes from the film which are available to see. Only reason why i would like to see at least some more deleted scenes from the film is because of the cast of well known comedians who without a doubt probably had more funny scenes.
- DirectorMark BuntzmanStarsRobert GintyMario Van PeeblesDeborah GeffnerThe flamethrower-wielding vigilante John Eastland returns to rid New York City of a drug lord and his gang. Not exactly the best B-movie ever and hardly a guilty pleasure, but as a fan of the first film i always wanted to see original uncut version of this sequel. Original director was replaced after he went over budget and The Cannon Group studio's dislike of his rough cut of the film, so different director was brought in for re-shoots and re-editing. Entire vigilante with flamethrower part of the film was added during re-shoots so there was something good that he brought to the film but either by his or studio's decision lot of the scenes from original cut were deleted, including not just some additional character bits but also some darker and more violent action sequences, including a scene where street gang shoots down police helicopter which falls on night club killing and injuring everybody in it. Original cut also had different ending in which John and X get into street brawl after John kills all of X's gang members and police chase with John running from the cops through the streets with his garbage truck and ends up crashing it into the river. Bunch of stills, theatrical trailer and rare behind the scenes making of documentary all show lot of these and other deleted scenes.
- DirectorMichael CrichtonStarsYul BrynnerRichard BenjaminJames BrolinA robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.Director and screenwriter Michael Crichton's original rough cut was apparently so slow and boring that it made him depressed so he had to do to some heavy re-editing to make it better. Scenes which were deleted from rough cut include a bank robbery and sales room sequences, an opening with a hovercraft flying above the desert, additional and longer dialogue scenes, more scenes with robots attacking and killing guests, including a scene where one guest is tied down to a rack and is killed when his arms are pulled out, a longer chase scene with the Gunslinger chasing Peter, and scene where the Gunslinger cleans his face with water after Peter throws acid on him. Crichton's assembly cut also featured a different ending which included a fight between Gunslinger and Peter and an alternate death scene in which the Gunslinger was killed by being ripped apart on a rack.
