- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseRebecca FergusonJeremy RennerEthan and his team take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF.My least anticipated summer movie "well next to the Fantastic Four" is actually the best. It's exciting and fast paced with great stunts.
- DirectorColin TrevorrowStarsChris PrattBryce Dallas HowardTy SimpkinsA new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.Cool and a lot of fun. I can't count how many times I've seen it.
- DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.Simply insane with some great action.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.Sentimental and heart-felt.
- DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world.A funny heist/superhero film with Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly in good form.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.More action than story and when the film slows down it informs on things we don't really care to know about our heroes. Like Hawkeye has a family and Black Widow can't have kids.
Oh and Ultron who should be cool and kick-ass with James Spader voicing him just gets to shoot out one-liners and blown up a lot. And Thor goes solo for a little while without the audience in on what he is actually doing.
The good however is Paul Bettany as Vision and the film is simply just better when he is on screen. - DirectorPaul FeigStarsMelissa McCarthyRose ByrneJude LawA desk-bound CIA analyst volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer and prevent diabolical global disaster.Very funny. I just don't get why after the "F" word was said about 800 times that McCarthy starts using sugar coated cutsie curses.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsGeorge ClooneyBritt RobertsonHugh LaurieBound by a shared destiny, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.Preachy but we need preachy these days. It also has it's fascinating and charming moments. The movie isn't what Summer goers rush to see. Dreamers could save the world is a good lesson though.
- DirectorBrad PeytonStarsDwayne JohnsonCarla GuginoAlexandra DaddarioIn the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey with his ex-wife across the state in order to rescue his daughter.Great effects and a good cast. But it offers nothing new to the disaster film genre. It's about a family trying to reunite during crisis. Even Godzilla last year was sadly about that.
- DirectorKyle BaldaPierre CoffinStarsSandra BullockJon HammMichael KeatonMinions Stuart, Kevin, and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a supervillain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world. It has a funny opening and cute end credits. That's all I remember lol. The Minions deserve a better script. Than just pretty much running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
- DirectorChris ColumbusStarsAdam SandlerKevin JamesMichelle MonaghanWhen aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth in the form of the video games. One of Sandler's better films even though critics would never admit that. I was only bored during the unnecessary party scene.
- DirectorSeth MacFarlaneStarsMark WahlbergSeth MacFarlaneAmanda SeyfriedNewlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he's a person in a court of law.The problem with Seth McFarlane is that he drags out a lot of his jokes until they aren't funny. Plus after Mia Kunis is the one who brought Ted back to life in the first; a sequel without her makes no sense.
Giovanni Ribisi back as the creepy guy who wants Ted to be his was unnecessary too. The movie could have used a new villain.
Still the movie is better than what they say and I loved all the funny cameos. - DirectorAlan TaylorStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerJason ClarkeEmilia ClarkeWhen John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline.Despite trying to reboot things and wanting to be fresh. The movie is like a 2nd rate Terminator film. Judgement Day is still the best by far.
- DirectorJosh TrankStarsMiles TellerKate MaraMichael B. JordanFour young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.**: A lot of the bad reviews feel as if critics just cut and pasted someone elses one bad review and took credit that it was there's. Since you see the words joyless with no humor tossed around in many reviews.
Fantastic Four...isn't fantastic but I do think it had it's enjoyable moments and it does have a small amount of humor. So I wouldn't say there was no laughs.
The problem is that the main four actors together are the way I expected; like they were randomly chosen. Miles Tellar and Jamie Belle prove to be better in their roles as I expected. But Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan aren't believable as two people that were raised together.
Not because of his color but because they have no chemistry. The film doesn't even get into if she was adopted or what. While despite being cocky; Michael B. Jordan just is nowhere near as funny as Chris Evans as Johnny Storm. Evans played the part like he ownded it. Jordan however doesn't even get much of a chance to even show why he was cast.
Toby Kebbell gets to steal the show in the beginning as Victor who of course becomes Dr. Doom. He's not an evil blogger as rumored. He's a scientist who wants to work on a teleportation device with Sue Storm (Kate Mara) alone. But Reed (Miles Tellar) is there and getting along well with her. Which makes Victor jealous; that love triangle goes nowhere though.
According to director Josh Trank; Fox hacked the movie to bits. So maybe the love triangle was supposed to go somewhere. But Fox just cared about getting the movie out there so Marvel wouldn't get the rights back.
I liked some of the science fiction elements of the film and maybe Trank's complete vision might have been better than Fox allowed. However; watching the 1994 B-Movie on YouTube yesterday; I felt like more love for the comic was put into the making of that movie.
Even if it wasn't great they wanted to make a faithful adaptation. Trank just wanted to reinvent the Fantastic Four with a more serious tone which doesn't work for them; whether his complete version would have been better or not. - DirectorGil KenanStarsSam RockwellRosemarie DeWittKennedi ClementsA family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces must come together to rescue their youngest daughter after the apparitions take her captive. It hasn't been 34 years since the original; it already felt like I saw Poltergeist remakes with Insidious and the Conjuring. Those films are far superior to this.
Hell films like Poltergeist come out like every 4 months now. So a remake just wasn't necessary even if the movie is more decent than they say.
