Great stunt performers/riggers/coordinators
The men and women who do what most people won't in order to give audiences the full physical experience. If the Academy gave stunt people a category i still wouldn't watch the Oscars, but it'd be nice.

As the most inspirational and diverse action actor of recent years, Alicia Vela-Bailey has emerged from A list stunt double to on screen sensation. Whether it is her chilling performance as Diana in the smash hit "Lights Out" or her acrobatic, ass kicking, portrayal of Alisha Whitley on Marvel's Agents of Shield, it is clear Alicia Vela-Bailey truly is the human special effect.
Vela-Bailey was raised in Kailua, on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. Her mother Cecelia was a ballerina and an artist from North Carolina. Her father Carlos Armando, was a top magician from El Salvador. Having two artistic parents, Vela-Bailey was enrolled in gymnastics and dance at a very young age and quickly climbed the ranks of the Hawaiian Island Twisters, becoming a competitive Level 9 Gymnast. Later, Vela-Bailey shifted more of her focus to dance, becoming a member of Marcelo Pacleb's famous 24-VII Danceforce.
At age 21, Vela-Bailey auditioned to double for Milla Jovovich in the film "Ultraviolet," and subsequently spent four months in Hong Kong and two months in Shanghai doing stunts and martial arts for the film. Ultraviolet was her very first movie experience, as well as her first time doing stunts and martial arts. Her performance earned two nominations for a Taurus World Stunt Award in 2007. Vela-Bailey has continued doubling Hollywood's hottest stars including Charilze Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kate Beckinsale to name a few.
As a dancer, Vela-Bailey booked her very first audition and she became a Pussycat Doll in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace, before being called to audition for James Cameron's Oscar® winning feature film Avatar. She spent 3 years working on the groundbreaking film as Zoe Saldana's stunt double for the character of Neytiri, as well as playing many different Navi characters including her own character as the Ikran Clan Leader.
Making her way in front of camera in recent years, Vela-Bailey landed the role of Inhuman Alisha Whitley on ABC's hit show "Marvel's Agents of Shield." Having the ability to act and do her own stunts has quickly helped Vela-Bailey become a fan favorite over the last 2 seasons. The fan dubbed "Ginger Ninja" uses her ability to multiply to take on whatever the Marvel Universe throws at her.
Being a huge fan of the horror genre, Vela-Bailey takes pride in scaring the "bejesus" out of people. Her terrifying performances in "The Purge" as the Female Freak and the leather clad Cyber Punk in "Hostel 3" feature Vela-Bailey's unique ability to manipulate her body to create terrifying movement.
This character work caught the eye of director David Sandberg and horror super producer James Wan, who were having trouble finding the correct portrayal for the lead villain Diana in "Lights Out." Blown away by Vela-Bailey's audition, they hired her on the spot and Vela-Bailey created the performance of Diana that had New York Times' Jeannette Catsoulis say "Lights Out delivers frights in old-school ways. Chief among these are the chilling exertions of Alicia Vela-Bailey, who portrays Diana with limber ingenuity. She imbues the spook with devilish intent. Whatever you do, don't blink."
Recently Vela-Bailey has just finished Doubling Gal Gadot on Wonder Women and is collaborating again with David Sandberg and James Wan on "Annabelle 2" as the evil Mrs. Mullins.- Director

In a quest for a lifetime of excitement and adventure Alison Reid pursued a career as a stunt performer. She landed her first stunt at the age of seventeen on The Littlest Hobo and went on to rack up over 300 film and TV stunt credits and become the second female stunt coordinator in North America. Being a stunt coordinator gave Alison the opportunity to work with numerous acclaimed actors, directors and cinematographers - many of whom played a significant role in her development as a director.
Along with her drive for excitement, Alison has an equally strong passion for storytelling. She earned her first professional writing credits in her twenties with two episodes of the CTV television series Katts & Dog (Rin Tin Tin K-9 Cop).
Continuing on her path to be immersed in the creative process, Alison formed Free Spirit Films to make films diverse in genre but similar in their exploration of the human spirit. Under that banner she produced and directed her award winning debut feature film LGBTQ2+ comedy, The Baby Formula (E-One, Warner Bros Digital) which screened at over 50 film festivals worldwide and was chosen to be opening night or closing night film multiple times including at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival.
Along with episodic television directing, Alison continues to work on her own passion projects. Most recently she directed, wrote and produced feature documentary, The Woman Who Loves Giraffes (Crave, Zeitgeist Films, Kino Lorber) which won multiple Best Film and Audience Awards and had a robust theatrical release in the USA and Canada. Positive reviews from The New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Variety and The Wrap contributed to its 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.- Stunts

Anthony Molinari was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to his wonderful parents, William and Joyce, alongside his brother, Billy, and sister, Christina. He earned his degree in Sociology and Education from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. After graduating, he began teaching early elementary education, where he was inspired by one of his students to follow his passion of becoming a stuntman. Soon after, he moved to Hollywood to pursue the entertainment business.
While breaking into the stunt industry and becoming one of the elite performers in that arena, Anthony discovered a love for acting. It started with his performance on the feature film The Fighter, playing Shea Neary opposite Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. That role got him a part in Papa, playing FBI agent John Fletcher across from Giovanni Ribisi and Mika Kelly. While on location in Cuba, he auditioned and booked his next role as Charlie McTiernan for the feature Black Mass with Jesse Plemons and Johnny Depp. It was on that night that Director Scott Copper took Anthony aside and said, "You have what it takes...You should go for it." So that's what he did, and since then he has booked roles like Buzzcut in Jack Reacher across Tom Cruise, Rocky Marciano in Barry Levingston's movie The Survivor, and in Christopher Nolan's pictures Tenet and Oppenheimer. As of 2022 he is a guest star on the HBO TV series Perry Mason playing Big Marv and the menacing Shane Taylor on Barry with Bill Hader. Over the last 20 years, Molinari has performed in over 200 different television shows and feature films. He has been blessed to work with some of the best directors and actors in the business and is truly grateful for his success.- Stunts

Arnold Chon began his training at the age of 5 at the Jhoon Rhee Institute in Virginia. Arnold received his black belt at the age of 11 while training equally hard in gymnastics. Arnold became an Extreme Martial Arts competitor and conquered the competitive martial arts circuit, eventually becoming a NASKA champion and two time Junior Olympic gold medalist in Tae Kwon Do.
After his rise in the competitive martial arts circuit, Arnold moved to Los Angeles to try his hand at Hollywood. Arnold got his chance to show the world what he could do in Mortal Kombat: Conquest. After this, Arnold began working on feature films like Big Mama's House, Epic Movie, and Wild Hogs.
Arnold has also appeared in multiple installments of trilogies and franchises such as Rush Hour and Pirates of the Caribbean. Throughout his career, Arnold has fought the crème de le crème of Martial Arts legends including Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Jean Claude Van Damme, Michael Jai White, and Chuck Norris.
From fighting the best to training the best and sharing his knowledge from a lifetime in the Martial Arts. Arnold has trained MMA fighters to a championship level in his spare time, both in Bellator and the UFC.
Arnold Chon continues to fight with Hollywood's toughest titans, recently taking on Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in Escape Plan. His more recent film credits as a stuntman include G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Hangover Part III. Arnold also continues to frequently work in television, where it all started for him. Recently Arnold has done stunts for shows such as Sons of Anarchy, Criminal Minds, and Teen Wolf.
Not only can Arnold Chon perform these amazing feats but he can also coordinate and choreograph stunts and fights sequences that rival the Hong Kong masters. Arnold began coordinator and choreographing back in 2000 on Sisqo's Unleash the Dragon music video. After that he was hired by Hunger Games director, Francis Lawrence, as stunt coordinator for Destiny's Child's Independent Woman from the Charlie's Angel soundtrack.
Arnold Chon continues to work as a stunt man but focuses on stunt coordinating and choreography. As a trainer of MMA champions, it's only natural that Arnold would begin to coordinate and choreograph MMA movies as the current market is in high demand thanks to UFC, making MMA the fastest growing sport in the world. Although Arnold Chon is the most knowledgeable coordinator in on-screen MMA fights, he can coordinate and choreograph for any big project with combat stunts of any kind.- Stunts

He came from a kick-boxing background; he entered the film field as a stunt performer at the age of 24. Before that, he worked as an instructor at the Inosanto Martial Arts Academy in California, teaching Jeet Kune Do/Jun Fan. After doing numerous roles in low budget martial art movies like Mission of Justice (1992) and Bloodsport III (1996) his first start as a stunt double came from the movie The Crow (1994) for doubling late Brandon Lee whom he trained with at the Inosanto Academy. Dailyn was born in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up in a large family, she started downhill skiing at a young age and attended an all-girls high school. This is where the shy, gawky teenager found her inner performer. Performances in the high school productions led to pageants, where she was crowned Miss Metro National Teen-Ager and subsequently Miss Michigan National Teen-Ager. After attending Michigan State University for two years, she ran off to Hollywood. Years of chasing an acting career brought little success. A little detour into the production side of things, she UPM'd (unit production manager) for the likes of Zack Snyder and David Fincher. During the seven year stint on the other side of the camera, she even hung out in edit bays with Gore Verbinski. Valuable knowledge was gained whilst filling in any position on the crew on various productions. It was akin to being a fly on the wall. After leaving a volatile marriage with a small child in tow, Dailyn needed to reassess her life. Needing a way to provide for her child, all the while being present in her life, she thought about her assets and passions. Athletic and crazy, with a love for the entertainment business, she ventured into the stunt world. She was wildly discouraged, for the nepotism runs deep in that community but she was fiercely determined to make her mark. Almost 18 years of getting punched, thrown, shot, beat, axed, you name it ~ and she still gets butterflies when that phone rings for the next job. Dailyn has doubled so many women that you may have never heard of and some that you have, such as Heather Graham and Katherine Heigl. She says she has that "one-of-a-kind face" that makes her the perfect stunt double. After a lifetime in Los Angeles, she has recently made Atlanta, Georgia her new home.- Director

Don Theerathada is one of the most exciting talents ever to grace the Thai film and TV industry. Don won the prestigious Golden Statue Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the film Fah (1998) (nominated for 22 Golden Statue awards and Thailand's highest grossing film at that time). After that, came a slew of parts in features that lead to 6 series regulars for network Thai TV.
Years prior, while attending George Mason University, Don competed in the 110m High Hurdles for the Thai National Track & Field Team as well as representing the U.S. National Tae Kwon Do Team instantly making him a national hero. Don's newfound status garnered him large campaigns for Nike, Tag-Huer, Ray-Ban, and Oakley. This lead to commercials, and ultimately starring roles in feature films.
In 1999, Don was sought after by Chris Lee for management in America but Don chose to stay in Thailand due to his increasing popularity and demand. While in Thailand, Don was also heavily recruited by the prestigious Jackie Chan Artists Group. They currently still represent him in Hong Kong.
Now Don has recently relocated to California. It has always been Don's dream and plan to return to the states to further his acting career. What Thailand loses in one of it's brightest young stars will be our gain in what hopefully will be a new blossoming career in America.- Stunts

Eddie Matthews was born in Des Moines Iowa, where he grew up hunting, fishing, and playing baseball right where "Field of Dreams" was made! He later went to Arizona State University for college, hoping eventually to be a professional baseball player, but found out quickly he was lacking in only a one area: talent.
While in Arizona, Eddie was an extra on a movie filming in "Used Cars" in 1980, where he met some of the top veteran stunt people in the business whom said, "if you want to be in the stunt biz, you must move to LA." In this first moment of mentor ship, Eddie realized a career as a stuntman was an opportunity to be a professional athlete while getting to play a wide variety of sports.
Inspired, Eddie moved to La La Land, and quickly realized, like the thousands before him, it takes many years to get one job, let alone make a living. Eddie made use of his trampoline background and started working with a professional high diving company doing high diving shows in theme parks around the country. During this time, Eddie also attained a masters degree in family counseling. Eddie's favorite movie include "Rain Man"and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and Eddie found and additional vocation working as a counselor in various Psychiatric hospitals. Eddie worked and lived in a home for autistic adults with high support needs. These patients were now his roommates and Eddie lived the movie "Rain Man" on steroids every day for five years.
This additional education and experience prepared Eddie for any craziness that Hollyweird might throw at him..
Eddie then got a good job at Universal studios Hollywood playing the Don Johnson character in the Miami Vice stunt show for the next 6 yrs, where he started meeting more people in the industry and started to get solid footing in the industry. After a lot of hard work and even more hard falls, he was honored to be voted into the prestigious Stuntmen's Association by some of the prestigious stuntmen he had met on his first day as an extra on set.
Another rewarding full circle moment in Eddie's career includes when one of his dear friends and mentors for 20 plus years was a real movie cowboy and stunt double for John Wayne. He taught Eddie far more about Gods plan & purpose for his life then the movie industry could offer. And before his cowboy friends career ended, Eddie was blessed with the opportunity to stunt double Kenny Rogers on one of his western "Gambler" movies where got to ride in buckboards and stage coaches with his old buddy.
Now a thirty year veteran of the entertainment industry, Eddie has had the opportunity to stunt coordinate movies and double for great actors such as; Matthew Broderick in "Ferris Bueller's Day off", Dennis Hopper in "Speed", Robert De Niro in "Casino" as well as other Hollywood greats including: Sylvestor Stallone, Chris Farley, Richard Gere, Charlie, Sheen, Anthony Hopkins, Jean-Claude Van Dam, Johnny Depp, and many others.
Having the opportunity to work on some of the biggest movies, Eddie has witnessed the highs and the lows of the entertainment business. It quickly became obvious no matter how successful at the box office, no one can avoid the storms and trials of life. No amount of fame, fortune or awards can bring any lastly peace or fulfillment without the peace of God.
As a Producer, Eddie is guided by his experience in entertainment, vocational work as a family counselor, and profound faith in God... Eddie's vision and mission is to produce and work on uplifting family friendly stories like where unlikely people overcome great odds. As part of this mission, Eddie is passionate about hiring actors and artists of all ages, abilities, and historically underrepresented groups. He's had the immense pleasure of befriending two different Academy award winning actors both in their late 80s who still love to work but Hollywood had kick them both to the curb in their old age.- Stunts

Definitely not your average 'prairie flower', brunette Evelyn Ruth Finley was known as the most accomplished stunt rider in the western genre. Famous director William A. Wellman was one of many who regarded her as the best in the business. She worked with horses from early childhood and grew up a tomboy on her father's ranch. Her dad had promised 'to put her into pictures', but how she eventually arrived in Hollywood is unclear. Winning a beauty contest as 'Miss Albuquerque' might have helped. The year was 1936 and her first picture was as stunt double to Jean Parker. By 1940, Evelyn was under contract at Monogram where her skills in the saddle quickly promoted her to leading lady opposite the likes of Tex Ritter, Tom Keene, Johnny Mack Brown and Buster Crabbe. As blonde Eve Anderson, she got to star in one of the last serials made at Columbia, Perils of the Wilderness (1956). However, Evelyn preferred the stunt work to acting, often doubling on horseback for glamorous stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Loretta Young. She remained involved in her area of expertise, either actively or as technical adviser, well into the 1980's. When not working in the film industry, she toured as an equestrian performer at different circuses. Evelyn was inducted into the Stuntmen's Hall of Fame.- Stunts

Hiro got his first glimpse into the world of film and television when he received his SAG card at the young age of 12. By the time he was 16, he convinced his parents to let him finish high school early and move by himself across the country in order to pursue his life long dream of becoming a stuntman. For the last 25 years he has used his martial arts and motocross background to fulfill that dream.
In the beginning Hiro knew little about the stunt industry. But in 1986 when stuntman and family friend, Shane Dixon, took him to visit the set of the first Lethal Weapon, Hiro was hooked. He knew he had to be a stuntman.
He began his career working on early Roger Corman films. Shortly after, he worked his way onto the popular kids show, Power Rangers where he spent the next 7 years perfecting his craft and learning what it took to be a stuntman. His hard work paid off. Since then, Hiro has worked on over 150 films and television shows. He has been nominated for 2 Taurus World Stunt Awards and continues to work on some of the industry's top shows as a stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director. In 2002, Hiro became a member of the Directors Guild of America, allowing him to move into the next phase of his career as a film maker. His directing accomplishments include several short films, t.v. shows, commercials, and a full length feature film. He became a series director on Supah Ninjas, for which he won the Emmy for Outstanding Stunt Coordination last year.
