Walter Murch - The Editor
Walter Murch, the legendary American film editor and sound designer, celebrates his 80th birthday on July 12, 2023. He is renowned for his exceptional talent and groundbreaking work in film editing, particularly his invention of "N-vis-o". His editing contributions to films like "Apocalypse Now" and "The English Patient" have earned him six Academy Awards nominations, including a win for Best Film Editing. He is the only film editor to have received Academy Award nominations for films edited on four different systems: Moviola, KEM flatbed, Avid, Final Cut Pro 4.
