Matthew Mackendree Lanter was born April 1, 1983 in Massillon, Stark County, Ohio, to Jana Kay (Wincek) and Joseph Hayes Lanter. He has a sister, Kara. When he was eight years old, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where his father's family is from. His recent ancestry includes Polish, English, Austrian, Scottish, and German.
Growing up, the blue-eyed actor spent most of his time playing baseball, football and golf. His love for baseball led him to scoring a position as a bat boy with the Atlanta Braves. In the year 2001, he graduated from Collins Hill High School. His parents got divorced when he was a senior at Collins Hill. Matt majored in Sports Business at the University of Georgia, but eventually moved to Los Angeles to follow his dreams of being part of the showbiz industry. He attended the University of Georgia after attending a community college for two years.
Lanter first gained the attention of fans when he was selected as a contestant in the 2004 reality television series, Manhunt: The Search for America's Most Gorgeous Male Model (2004). The show revolved around contestants having to compete with each other in a series of modeling events. Although he did not win the competition, Matt succeeded in making the show's top 10. It did not take too long before critics started noticing Matt.
After landing roles on shows such as Grey's Anatomy (2005), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), Life (2007), Big Love (2006), Monk (2002), as well as the feature film, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius (2004), starring Jim Caviezel, he built a solid foundation and was already in demand for future projects. His big break came when he starred as "Horace Calloway", the John F. Kennedy-like first son on the short-lived ABC political series, Commander in Chief (2005) in 2005. However, most people do not know that he was, in fact, not in the original pilot. Instead, Matt was a re-cast. Matt has also recurred on two of television's most popular shows: NBC's Heroes (2006) as the sinister quarterback "Brody Mitchumm" opposite Hayden Panettiere and CBS' Shark (2006) as "Eddie Linden".
His talent surpasses the ability to solely act for TV and film and on stage; Matt had the opportunity of starring in his theatrical debut, opposite Laurence Fishburne in Alfred Uhry's "Without Walls" at The Mark Taper Forum. Consistently booking role after role, he has starred in multiple other feature films merging him into a leading man. Lanter's films include: Warner Bros. animated feature film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), in which he voices the popular character "Anakin Skywalker", the lead in Liongate's comedy, Disaster Movie (2008), and MGM's feature film, WarGames: The Dead Code (2008). Prior to that, he established himself as a tween heartthrob, playing the lead in MGM/ABC Family's film, The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream (2008).
Outside of acting, Matt has participated in various events for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (one of which was a celebrity dodgeball team promoting the premiere of Ben Stiller's movie, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), in which the proceeds also went to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation) and the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, where he was part of the "Commander in Chief" celebrity relay team.
Despite being busy working in the industry, Matt says that he tries to stay as humble as possible. When he's not acting, he enjoys being outdoors, playing golf and relaxing at the beach.
Matt married his longtime girlfriend, Angela Lanter, on June 14, 2013.- Ryan D. Madison is known for Is My Daughter Really Dead? (2019), You Married Dat (2022) and American Horror Stories (2021).

Born in 1979 in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the only child of a classical violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and an opera singer father, Julian Pike. Due to her parents' work, she spent her early childhood traveling around Europe. Pike attended Badminton School in Bristol, England and began acting at the National Youth Theatre. While appearing in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and signed by an agent, although she continued her education at Wadham College, Oxford, where she read English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper second class honors degree.
Pike appeared in a number of UK television series, including Wives and Daughters (1999), before scoring an auspicious feature film debut as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released, she was only 23. A brief foray into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005), and the thriller, Fracture (2007), but she returned to smaller films with exceptional performances in three films: An Education (2009), Made in Dagenham (2010), and the lead opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).
As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011), and inhabited the role of "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic, Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action films with the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).

Archie Madekwe was born on 10 February 1995 in Lambeth, London, England, UK. He is an actor and producer, known for Gran Turismo (2023), Midsommar (2019) and Saltburn (2023).- Laura Fraser was born on 24th July 1975 and brought up in Glasgow. Her father, Alister, used to run a small building company but is now an aspiring scriptwriter; her mother, Rose, used to be a nurse but is now a college lecturer. She has an older brother who works with computers, a younger sister who is studying philosophy at university, and a younger brother who hasn't yet decided what he wants to do. Laura describes her family as a pretty close bunch.
Alister Fraser was instrumental in getting his daughter into acting when she was at school. He wrote a play for the youth club in which she played the female lead. After completing High School, Laura did a drama foundation course at Glasgow's Langside College, and than went to the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
During her time there, she got a supporting role in Gillies MacKinnon's film Small Faces (1995). This was on top of a couple of other minor roles she had taken (such as 'Big Day for the Bad Guys). The college authorities took a pretty dim view of the amount of professional work she had been taking on, questioning her commitment to the course.
Having not been enjoying her time at the Academy, and encouraged by her parents, she dropped out after a year and moved to London. She landed the starring female role in the BBC adaptation of Neil Gaiman's _"NeverWhere" (1996) (mini)_ series, and then moved to several small or supporting roles in films (Cousin Bette, Man in the Iron Mask), as well as a lead in the short film 'Paris Brixton'. She also appeared as a minor character in single TV dramas, such as 'The Investigator' and 'The Tribe'). Her role in the movie Left Luggage (1998) was more substantial and led to her getting one of the main character roles in the black comedy Divorcing Jack (1998) (at least in the first half). And her highest profile performance as the lead female in the comedy Virtual Sexuality (1999) in 1998.
From here she has appeared in a number of films, mainly in supporting roles, but always noticeable. Her performance as Lavinia in the offbeat version of Titus (1999) has particularly been singled out for praise. All these roles have demonstrated her versatility in characterization and style to the full. From the fantasy of 'Neverwhere', comedy of 'Virtual Sexuality', Shakespearean drama of 'Titus', emotional drama of 'Forgive and Forget' and slapstick of 'Kevin and Perry', Laura cannot be typecast. She effortlessly adapts to all the genres (and accents where needed; she has rarely appeared acting using her own Glasgow accent).
Laura moved to America after completing Coney Island Baby (2002). She landed a role in the well regarded HBO drama Iron Jawed Angels (2004), and also met up with Karl Geary, her co-star in 'Coney Island Baby'. They lived together in Brooklyn, and subsequently married in New York in 2003. They moved to Ireland in mid 2004.
In early 2005, Laura returned to live in Glasgow with her husband and stepdaughter, and a desire to start a family and focus on local work. She found she was pregnant in late 2005, and spent time working as a choreographer on a pantomime written by her father 'Oh Yes He Is!' for the charity Sense Scotland. In May 2006 she and Karl became proud parents of a baby girl. Laura intended to not work for 12 months and be a full-time mum, but by September 2006 she was back making a film for the BBC. - Actor

Dan Stevens was born at Croydon in Surrey on 10th October 1982. His parents are teachers. He was educated at Tonbridge School and trained in acting at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. He studied English Literature at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Whilst he was a Cambridge undergraduate, he acted in several student drama productions. He played the title role in the Marlowe Dramatic Society's production of William Shakespeare's play, "Macbeth". This was staged at the Cambridge Arts Theatre from Tuesday 26th February to Saturday 2nd March 2002. The cast also featured Rebecca Hall in the roles of Lady Macbeth and Hecate. During one of his university summer holidays in August 2003 he went to Slovakia where he filmed his scenes for the Hallmark production of Frankenstein (2004). Dan played the part of Henry Clerval and the mini-series was first broadcast on American television on 5th October 2004. Shortly after graduating from Cambridge Dan was nominated for an Ian Charleson award for his performance as Orlando in "As You Like It" at the Rose Theatre at Kingston in Surrey. "As You Like It" was directed by Peter Hall and ran from 30th November to 18th December 2004. This production for the Peter Hall Company subsequently went on a tour of America in the early months of 2005, playing at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, the Curran Theater in San Francisco and the Harvey Theater at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. It featured Rebecca Hall in the role of Rosalind.
Dan was reunited with the director Peter Hall when he played Claudio in a new production of the Shakespeare play, "Much Ado About Nothing", for the Peter Hall Company at the Theatre Royal in Bath from 29th June to 6th August 2005. In February 2006 Dan played the parts of Marban and Maitland in a revival of Howard Brenton's controversial play, "The Romans in Britain", directed by Samuel West at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Then in May 2006 he played Nick Guest, the protagonist in The Line of Beauty (2006). This three part television mini-series was adapted by Andrew Davies from the 2004 Booker prize winning novel by Alan Hollinghurst. The Line of Beauty (2006) is about Nick Guest's relationship with his university friend Toby Fedden. The story takes place in the 1980s. It is set against the backdrop of Margaret Thatcher's free market economic policies and the spread of the acquired immunity deficiency syndrome, (AIDS). These two social developments directly affect the characters in the story because Toby's father Gerald is a Conservative member of parliament and Nick is homosexual.
Whilst The Line of Beauty (2006) was being broadcast on BBC television, Dan was appearing as Simon Bliss in the Noël Coward play, "Hay Fever". This play was staged at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London from 11th April to 5th August 2006 and the cast also included Judi Dench in the role of Judith Bliss. At the end of the year Dan played Lord Holmwood in a television dramatization of Dracula (2006), which was broadcast on 28th December 2006. In 2007 Dan played the part of Michael Faber in Miss Marple: Nemesis (2007), an Agatha Christie adaptation with Geraldine McEwan in the role of Miss Jane Marple. He also featured in the cast of Maxwell (2007), a television drama about the famous newspaper magnate. Maxwell (2007) was first broadcast on British television on 4th May 2007. David Suchet played Robert Maxwell, and Dan took the part of Basil Brookes, one of the press baron's financial directors.
Dan played the part of Edward Ferrars in a television dramatization of Jane Austen's novel, Sense & Sensibility (2008). This was broadcast in three episodes on BBC1 between Tuesday 1st and Sunday 13th January 2008. The novel was adapted for television by Andrew Davies, whom Dan had previously worked with on The Line of Beauty (2006). Davies felt that the part of Edward Ferrars was underdeveloped in the book, and so he deliberately added scenes not included in the novel to help draw out the character. So, for instance, we saw Edward out horse riding on the Norland estate and chopping logs at Barton Cottage. In the DVD audio commentary Dan joked that this was the best example of log chopping ever seen on British television! After Sense & Sensibility (2008), Dan featured in the cast of "The Tennis Court", a BBC Radio 4 Saturday play broadcast on 19th January 2008. He also played Nicky Lancaster in a revival of the Noël Coward play, "The Vortex", at the Apollo Theatre in London from Wednesday 20th February to Saturday 7th June 2008. This was another collaboration with the stage director, Peter Hall. Dan played the eponymous hero of "Dickens Confidential", a six part radio drama series set in the 1830s which imagines what might have happened if Charles Dickens had continued his career as a journalist. This was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between Monday 9th June and Monday 14th July 2008. He played the part of Peregrine in 'Orley Farm', the BBC Radio 4 Classic Serial. This was a three part adaptation of the novel by Anthony Trollope broadcast between Sunday 28th December 2008 and Sunday 11th January 2009. A month later he played Duval in the BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour drama, 'The Lady of the Camellias'. Joey said, "I think it's really neat to hear my voice come out of animal or creature that someone made from their imagination!"
Her first film Grace (2006), was shot when she was six years old. On the first day of filming Joey had to pretend to almost drown in the ice cold ocean. Joey has said she was completely hooked on making movies after that.
Joey was nine years old when she landed her first lead role in the feature Ramona and Beezus (2010). Joey played Ramona Quimby, whose character always seems to be in some sort of mischief. In her short years, Joey has worked with some very prestigious directors; Christopher Nolan, who Joey describes as super involved in every detail, including being present when Joey shaved off her hair for her role in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Sam Raimi, who captured Joey's heart with his gentle and patient demeanor and brilliant vision, while working on Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), and Roland Emmerich who Joey has said is such a gifted director, who I was so lucky to get to work for and will be my friend for life, while filming the action movie, White House Down (2013).
Joey has spoken to many schools and Boys and Girls Clubs on the importance of making a positive difference in the world, even if you are young. She attends and contributes to many charities, and you can often find her helping her grandmother deliver food to the elderly through Meals on Wheels when she is not working.

Bill Nighy is an award-winning British character actor. He was born William Francis Nighy on December 12, 1949 in Caterham, Surrey, England, to Catherine Josephine (Whittaker), a psychiatric nurse from Glasgow, and Alfred Martin Nighy, who was English-born and managed a garage in Croydon.
At school, he gained 'O'-levels in English Language and English Literature and enjoyed reading, particularly Ernest Hemingway. On leaving school he wanted to become a journalist but didn't have the required qualifications. He eventually went on to work as a messenger boy for the Field magazine. He stayed in Paris for a while because he wanted to write "the great novel", but he only managed to write the title. When he ran out of money, the British consul shipped him home.
Nighy wound up training at Guildford School of Dance and Drama in London, and has since then worked consistently in film, television, and on stage.
Nighy is perhaps best-known to international audiences for his memorable performance as washed-up pop singer Billy Mack in Love Actually (2003), which won him a BAFTA for best supporting actor. He has also made appearances in major franchises: he played vampire leader Viktor in Underworld (2003), Underworld: Evolution (2006) and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), did the performance capture and voice for Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007), and made a brief appearance as Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010).
Nighy's recent film credits include roles in I Capture the Castle (2003), Shaun of the Dead (2004), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), The Constant Gardener (2005), Notes on a Scandal (2006), Hot Fuzz (2007), Valkyrie (2008) and The Boat That Rocked (2009). He has also provided voice work for many animated movies in the past few years including Flushed Away (2006), Astro Boy (2009), Rango (2011) and Arthur Christmas (2011).
With supporting turns in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011), Wrath of the Titans (2012) and Total Recall (2012), 2012 was a busy year for Nighy. There are no signs of slowing down either, as he next appeared in Jack the Giant Slayer (2013), About Time (2013), and I, Frankenstein (2014).
Nighy has also had an active career on the small screen, beginning with Agony (1979), and his first widely-recognized role was in 1991 mini-series The Men's Room (1991). He has also made a habit of working on television with Harry Potter director David Yates: projects together include State of Play (2003), The Young Visiters (2003), The Girl in the Café (2005) and Page Eight (2011). Nighy won a Golden Globe for his performance in Gideon's Daughter (2005).
Nighy actually began his career on the stage, and has earned acclaim for his work in numerous plays including "The Vertical Hour," "Pravda". "A Map of the World", Tom Stoppard's Arcadia in 1993, and David Hare's Skylight. He received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance in 2001 play "Blue/Orange."
Bill's partner was actress Diana Quick (he asked her to marry him but she said: "don't ask me again"; he called her his wife because anything else would have been too difficult). They have a daughter, Mary Nighy, who is studying at university and contemplating an acting career. She has already begun to appear on TV dramas and radio programs.- Actress

Kirby is an actress who is best known for her memorable roles in "Killing Eve," "The Good Place," "Barry," "Why Women Kill," and "Veronica Mars." Her other television credits include "Infinity Train," "Love," 'Downward Dog," "House Of Lies," and "Comedy Bang! Bang!."
In 2021, Kirby was seen in the Disney feature "Cruella", opposite Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, and starred in the STX Films comedy "Queenpins," a two-hander with Kristen Bell and Kirby in co-leading roles. She was also seen in the independent feature "Silent Night," and appeared in Saban Films' dark romantic comedy "Happily."- Swedish-born Lena Olin already had a successful career as an actress before she came to Hollywood. She acted at the Royal Theatre in Stockholm and was directed by Ingmar Bergman. She was born in Stockholm, to actors Britta Holmberg and Stig Olin, who appeared in six of Bergman's films. Lena also belongs to the Bergman "family". As a young actress, she played in the great classics of William Shakespeare, Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg. She made her international debut as a movie actress in After the Rehearsal (1984) (aka "After the Rehearsal"), directed by Bergman. In western Europe, she became well-known in the political movie The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988) as "Sabina", in a story about the Prague spring (1968). After coming to the US, she played mostly distinguished, exotic temptresses, intelligent women and crude vamps. Bergman had developed Lena's artistic gift to play different human emotions and express them in a subtle way. Sydney Pollack, director of Out of Africa (1985), rewrote the screenplay for Havana (1990) especially for her. This explains why this film recalls associations with the classic Casablanca (1942), starring Ingrid Bergman, also from Sweden. Olin received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Enemies, A Love Story (1989). She went on to have a choice role in Chocolat (2000), which received a Best Picture Oscar nomination, and received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She made a move to the smaller screen and played the role for one season as the deliciously evil "Irina Derevko", the mother to Jennifer Garner's "Sydney Bristow" in the series Alias (2001). Olin received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
- This urbane, sourly handsome British actor was born to privilege and most of his roles would follow suit. Born Dennistoun John Franklyn Rose-Price in Berkshire in 1915, Dennis Price, the son of a brigadier-general, was expected to abide by his family wishes and make a career for himself in the army or the church. Instead he became an actor. First on stage (Oxford University Dramatic Society) where he debuted with John Gielgud in "Richard II" in 1937, he was further promoted in the theatre by Noël Coward.
After brief extra work, Price nabbed early star-making film roles in several overbaked Gainsborough mysteries/melodramas, including A Place of One's Own (1945), The Magic Bow (1946) and Caravan (1946), but the one showcase role that could have led him to Hollywood, that of the title poet in The Bad Lord Byron (1949), proved a critical and commercial failure. He took this particularly hard and fell into severe depression. His fatally charming serial murderer in Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949), in which he does in nearly all of Alec Guinness' eight characters (Guiness plays eight different roles), is arguably his crowning achievement on celluloid.
By the 50s Price was suffering from severe alcoholism, which adversely affected his personal and professional career. A marriage to bit actress Joan Schofield in 1939 ended eleven years later, due to his substance abuse problem and homosexuality, the latter being a source of great internal anguish for him. They had two daughters.
Price became less reliable and fell steeply in his ranking, moving into less quality "B" pictures. Eccentric comedy renewed his fading star a bit in such delightful farces as Private's Progress (1956), I'm All Right Jack (1959) and School for Scoundrels (1960). TV also saved him for a time in the 60s with the successful series The World of Wooster (1965), in which he played the disdainful butler, Jeeves.
Bad times, however, resurfaced. He filed bankruptcy in 1967 and moved to the remote Channel Island of Sark for refuge. Many of his roles were reduced to glorified cameos and the necessity for cash relegated him to appearing in campy "Z" grade cheapfests, many helmed by the infamous writer/director Jesús Franco, a sort of Spanish version of Roger Corman. Vampyros Lesbos (1971) was just one of his dreadful entries. Price also played Dr. Frankenstein for Franco in Dracula, Prisoner of Frankenstein (1972) [Dracula vs. Frankenstein] and the The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein (1973) [The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein]. Fully bloated and in delicate health, he died in 1973 at age 58 in a public ward from liver cirrhosis. A sad ending for one who of Britain's more promising actors and film stars. - Actor

Audiences witnessed her brother getting a little too intimate with his sibling in the first episode before she turned her attentions to Pierre and dug her claws into him. She is a vile character who will use and abuse Pierre without giving him a second thought." Andrew Davies, who adapted War and Peace, described Middleton's Hélène as "the naughtiest woman on TV at the moment".- Actress

Wesley Wales Anderson was born in Houston, Texas. His mother, Texas Ann (Burroughs), is an archaeologist turned real estate agent, and his father, Melver Leonard Anderson, worked in advertising and PR. He has two brothers, Eric and Mel. Anderson's parents divorced when he was a young child, an event that he described as the most crucial event of his brothers and his growing up. During childhood, Anderson also began writing plays and making super-8 movies. He was educated at Westchester High School and then St. John's, a private prep school in Houston, Texas, which was later to prove an inspiration for the film Rushmore (1998).
Anderson attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he majored in philosophy. It was there that he met Owen Wilson. They became friends and began making short films, some of which aired on a local cable-access station. One of their shorts was Bottle Rocket (1993), which starred Owen and his brother Luke Wilson. The short was screened at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was successfully received, so much so that they received funding to make a feature-length version. Bottle Rocket (1996) was not a commercial hit, but it gained a cult audience and high-profile fans, which included Martin Scorsese.
Success followed with films such as Rushmore (1998), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and an animated feature, Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009). The latter two films earned Anderson Oscar nominations.- Actress

Her father, Christopher Morahan, is a television and stage director, who is perhaps best known for his television adaptation of The Jewel in the Crown (1984). Her mother, Anna Carteret, is an actress whose most high profile role was that of Inspector Kate Longton, whom she played in the BBC police drama series Juliet Bravo (1980) between 1983 and 1985. Hattie was educated at the Frensham Heights School. Whilst she was at school people would recognize her mother because they had seen Anna on TV in Juliet Bravo. Hattie has said in interviews that for a long time she thought that Manchester was in India because her father was working for Granada but he kept going away to India. In 1995, when she was sixteen years old, her father cast her as Una Gwithiam in a television adaptation of The Peacock Spring (1996), which was broadcast on British television on 1st January 1996.
Hattie studied English Literature at New Hall, Cambridge between 1997 and 2000. This Cambridge University college has since been renamed Murray Edwards College. Whilst she was at Cambridge, she acted in several student drama productions. Hattie played Snowball, the pig based on Trotsky, in a stage adaptation of George Orwell's novel, 'Animal Farm', at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge from 18th to 22nd November 1997. She returned to the ADC Theatre in February 1998 as part of the cast of 'Ticklebang', a new comedy written by Dylan Ritson, and she was part of the cast when the play was put on at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 1998. In November 1998 Hattie decided to switch for the time being from acting to direction, and directed 'The Suicide', a play by Nikolay Erdman, at the ADC in Cambridge, with Blake Ritson, the brother of Dylan, as her assistant director.
Hattie played the part of Catherine in Phillip Breen's production of Arthur Miller's modern classic, 'A View from the Bridge', at the ADC from 9th to 13th February, 1999. This production was re-staged at the National Student Drama Festival at Scarborough in April 1999 and Hattie won the best actress award at the festival. In July 1999 she played Cecily Cardew in an outdoor production of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy of manners, 'The Importance of being Earnest', with Phillip Breen as director and Blake Ritson in the role of Jack Worthing. This played at a number of outdoor venues in and around Cambridge. It was later staged at the ADC in Cambridge from 11th to 13th October 1999.
Towards the end of her time at Cambridge, Hattie played Isabel in Pedro Calderon De la Barca's play, 'The Mayor of Zalamea', at the Cambridge Arts Theatre in the summer of 2000, and in that summer she graduated with a degree in English from Cambridge University. At this point, she was clear that she wanted to pursue a career in acting. Her parents recommended that she enroll at drama school. However, Hattie was eager to get started on her professional acting career. She made a deal with her parents that if she did not get much work in the next twelve months, she would follow their advice and go to drama school.
As it turned out within a few months Hattie had won a contract with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), and whilst she was there she was able to take advantage of the technical classes and voice coaching to improve her acting technique. Her first professional engagement was as one of the players in a production of 'Hamlet' directed by Steven Pimlott. This was staged first at the Swan Theatre in Stratford upon Avon from 31st March to 13th October 2001 and then at the Barbican Theatre in London from 6th December 2001 to 2nd April 2002. As well as her part as one of the players, Hattie also understudied the role of Ophelia. She was with the RSC for over a year and her other roles for the company included the part of Lucy in 'Love in a Wood', a Restoration comedy by William Wycherley which was staged at the Swan Theatre in Stratford between 12th April and 12th October 2001; Emela in 'The Prisoner's Dilemma' by David Edgar, which was performed at the Other Place in Stratford from 11th July to 13th October 2001; and Tracy, the hotel receptionist, in 'Night of the Soul', a new play written and directed by David Farr, which ran at the Barbican Pit in London from 19th April to 11th May 2002.
After she had completed her time with the RSC, Hattie played the part of Elizabeth in a revival of Somerset Maugham's play 'The Circle' directed by Mark Rosenblatt. This production went on a tour of English regional theaters in the autumn of 2002 starting at the Malvern Theatre, (27th to 31st August), and finishing at the Arts Theatre in Cambridge, (21st to 26th October). In 2003 she played Elaine Harper in 'Arsenic and Old Lace' for Katharine Dore Management at the Strand Theatre in London from 14th February to 31st May, and Louise De la Valliere in 'Power', a new play written by Nick Dear, at the National Theatre in London from 3rd July to 29th October. In 2004 she played Ruby in Peter Flannery's play 'Singer' at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn from 10th March to 10th April. She appeared as Totty Vogel Downing, an expert on art fraud seconded to the unsolved case squad in one episode of New Tricks (2003), the popular BBC1 crime drama series, and she took part in a presentation of Eve Ensler's play, 'Necessary Targets', directed by Anna Carteret at the Arts Theatre in London on Sunday 10th October 2004 .
Also in 2004, Hattie took part in a rehearsed reading of 'Othello' at the Globe Theatre in London and she played the part of a receptionist in 'Out of Time', a short film written by Dylan Ritson and directed by his brother Blake. However, Hattie's breakthrough as a stage actress was probably her performance in the title role in a 2004 revival of Euripides' play, 'Iphigenia at Aulis'. This was staged at the National Theatre in London and ran from 12th June to 7th September 2004. The play's director, Katie Mitchell, is a controversial figure in contemporary British theatre, but Hattie is an admirer of her work, and as it turned out 'Iphigenia at Aulis' was the start of a long running collaboration between the two women.
In 2005 she played Beth Lucas, a regular character in the second season of the BBC3 medical drama, Bodies (2004), and she made a guest appearance in the radio version of Trevor's World of Sport (2003). She played Carrie, a media studies graduate interested in a career in talent management, who goes on a work placement at TS Sports Stars. The episode was entitled 'Work Experience' and it was broadcast by BBC Radio 4 on 29th November 2005. In the autumn she played Viola in a well received production of William Shakespeare 's play 'Twelfth Night' at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. This production ran from 17th September to 22nd October 2005. In 2006 she played Penelope Toop in 'See How They Run' for ACT Productions in a tour of regional theaters starting at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, (15th to 18th February 2006) and finishing at the Malvern Theatre, (4th to 8th April 2006). 'See How They Run' was directed by Douglas Hodge, a good friend of Hattie's fiancé, Blake Ritson. Also in 2006 she played Alice in a BBC Radio 4 production of David Hare's play, 'Plenty', broadcast on 30th September 2006, and in the summer of 2006 Hattie was reunited with Katie Mitchell, who directed her in Anton Chekhov's play 'The Seagull' at the National Theatre. The play ran from 17th June to 23rd September and Hattie won an Ian Charleston award for her performance as Nina in this play.
Hattie was part of the cast in 'Asylum Monologues', an event organized by Actors for Human Rights, at Cambridge University on 18th October 2007. She was also busy filming various television and film projects in 2007. She played the part of Sister Clara in New Line Cinema's film of The Golden Compass (2007), which went on general release in Great Britain on 5th December 2007, as well as playing Gale Benson, the daughter of a Conservative member of parliament who becomes involved with the black power movement, in Roger Donaldson's film, The Bank Job (2008). The Bank Job (2008) went on general release in Britain on 29th February 2008. On television she was in two comedies made by Hat Trick productions, namely Outnumbered (2007) and Bike Squad (2008). She won widespread acclaim for her performance as Elinor Dashwood in Andrew Davies' adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, Sense & Sensibility (2008). This was broadcast on BBC1 between 1st and 13th January 2008. This television adaptation was inevitably compared with the 1995 Columbia Tristar film of the same book in which Emma Thompson had played Elinor, although in her preparation for the role Hattie had deliberately avoided watching the film again and decided not to think about Emma Thompson. Hattie won the best actress award at the Shanghai Television Festival for her performance as Elinor Dashwood.
She appeared in several radio dramas in the first quarter of 2008, including 'What I think of my Husband', a radio play by Stephen Wakelam about Thomas Hardy's relationship with his second wife, Florence Dugdale. This was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between 31st March and 4th April 2008, and featured excellent performances from both Nigel Anthony as Hardy and Hattie as Florence. She also played the part of Constance in a radio adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's 1945 film Spellbound (1945). This was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Saturday 16th February 2008. Her co-star in this radio play was Benedict Cumberbatch, with whom she appeared in Martin Crimp's play, 'The City'. This play opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London on Thursday 24th April 2008 and ran until Saturday 7th June 2008. It was directed by Katie Mitchell, who also directed Hattie in 'Some Trace of Her', an experimental stage version of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel, 'The Idiot'. This opened at the Cottesloe stage of the National Theatre in London on Wednesday 23rd July and ran until Tuesday 21st October 2008. She was also in the cast of A Pocket Full of Rye (2008), an Agatha Christie TV drama starring Julia McKenzie as Miss Marple, in which Hattie played Elaine Fortescue, the daughter of a murdered businessman.
In the autumn of 2008 Hattie played the role of Jane again in the second series of the BBC1 situation comedy Outnumbered (2007). On Sunday 2nd November 2008 she returned to Cambridge University, where she gave a talk on her acting career at the Judith E. Wilson Drama Studio. She was one of the readers for 'Active Resistance to Propaganda' by Vivienne Westwood, the Royal Shakespeare Company's Alternative Christmas lecture, which was staged at Wilton's Music Hall in London on Sunday 16th December 2008. She also played the part of Mary in a revival of the T.S. Eliot play 'Family Reunion' at the Donmar Warehouse in London. This play opened on Thursday 20th November 2008 and ran until Saturday 10th January 2009. The play was in a very real sense a family reunion for Hattie since the cast included Hattie's mother Anna Carteret.
In 2009 Hattie played Claire in 'Love Hate'. This was a short film about a charity worker who falls in love with a mysterious woman. It was written and directed by the Ritson brothers, and the cast also included Ben Whishaw, with whom Hattie had previously co-starred in stage productions of 'The Seagull' in 2006 and 'Some Trace of Her' in 2008. In the spring of 2009 Hattie returned to the National Theatre in London to play Kay Conway in 'Time and the Conways' by J.B.Priestley. The play opened on Tuesday 28th April 2009 and completed its run on Sunday 16th August 2009. Hattie played Elizabeth in Meredith Oakes' unusually entitled social comedy, 'Alex Tripped on my fairy', which was broadcast by BBC Radio 3 on Saturday 21st March 2009. She was one of the readers for an edition of the BBC Radio 3 show, 'Words and Music', which went out on Sunday 29th March 2009, and she also narrated a ten part dramatization of 'Lady Audley's Secret' by Mary Elizabeth Braddon. This was broadcast by BBC Radio 4 between Monday 20th April 2009 and Friday 1st May 2009. - Actress

The striking actress Anna Maxwell-Martin is a rising star on both stage and screen. Anna had dreamed all her life of becoming an actress even though her family had no background in the arts. She starred in school plays and an acclaimed production of "Breezeblock Park" in the role of Betty.
At the age of 20, she auditioned for the prestigious Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art, the school she had dreamed of attending since childhood but unfortunately, she wasn't accepted. Undeterred, she applied for the London Academy Of Dramatic Art, where she was accepted. Upon successful completion of the three-year acting program, Anna at age 24 embarked upon a career that has built up gradually over the past four years. She starred in the Trevor Nunn-helmed "Coast of Utopia" and "Dumb Show" at the Royal Court in London with Terry Johnson, but her moment of glory on stage so far has to be her Olivier award-nominated performance in the adaptation of Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" as the 12-year-old heroine Lyra.
Though has worked extensively on stage, Anna has graced the big and small screen. Guest appearances in Midsomer Murders (1997) and opposite Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper in Doctor Who (1963) and most recently she can be seen in the role of Esther Summerson in the BBC's adaptation of Charles Dickens's book Bleak House (2005) starring Denis Lawson, Johnny Vegas, and Gillian Anderson.

Her father was English and her mother is Brazilian, of Italian and Portuguese descent. Her surname comes from her mother's Italian grandfather. Thanks to her mother, Kaya grew up fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, as well as English. At the age of fourteen, she auditioned for Skins (2007), the debut series for new channel E4 that would become known for casting real teenagers like her, who had no professional acting experience, rather than experienced adult actors. She won the role of "Effy Stonem" and joined the show in January 2007. After an challenging debut in which she never spoke, Scodelario and Effy made quite an impression on viewers. At the forefront of many disasters, including stalkers, death, and sexual pressures, Effy became a fan favorite for her ability to resolve testing life situations while keeping her head above water. As the character and the role grew, Scodelario enjoyed depicting what she described as the realistic trials and challenges Effy faced with friendships, relationships, and adolescence. After two seasons of Skins (2007), the series endured an overhaul at the end of 2007. Feeling that most of the characters had run their course, the writers wrote out every character except Effy. This put significantly more pressure on Scodelario because it meant that she would be the most recognizable face for season three. As she waited for the new season of Skins (2007) to begin, she took advantage of her recent clout to seek out additional career opportunities. She joined the elite agency Models 1 and soon was featured as the cover model for SuperSuper Magazine. She made her feature film debut with a role in Moon (2009), starring Sam Rockwell as an astronaut suffering from surreal encounters while on the moon. With a blossoming film career and her successful TV series to fall back on, Kaya Scodelario is certainly someone to watch.
