- DirectorFrancis Ford CoppolaStarsMarlon BrandoAl PacinoJames CaanThe aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.One of the greatest movies of all time. Goodfellas is better though
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen the menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice. The Greatest Movie Of All Time.
My dad has had this movie on DVD ever since I was a little kid. I saw the poster and the pictures on the back of the Joker, and I wanted to watch it my whole life. It just looked so cool.
Then I finally saw it with my Dad about a year ago, and it was a dream come true: The movie I fantasized about watching, the movie that I predicted I would like more than any other movie, became a reality.
I study and watch this movie religiously. I have seen this movie with some friends now, and I tell everyone to shut up so I can quote it.
Joker is the best villain of all time - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleMichael CaineKen WatanabeAfter witnessing his parents' death, Bruce learns the art of fighting to confront injustice. When he returns to Gotham as Batman, he must stop a secret society that intends to destroy the city.A great beginning to a great trilogy, but at the end you wish you had just watched the Dark Knight instead
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleTom HardyAnne HathawayEight years after the Joker's reign of chaos, Batman is coerced out of exile with the assistance of the mysterious Selina Kyle in order to defend Gotham City from the vicious guerrilla terrorist Bane. The least philosophical and logical of the three Batman movies, but has some very memorable scenes and quotes. Still a top 10 superhero movie
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsLeonardo DiCaprioJoseph Gordon-LevittElliot PageA thief who steals corporate secrets through the use of dream-sharing technology is given the inverse task of planting an idea into the mind of a C.E.O., but his tragic past may doom the project and his team to disaster. One of the most complex movies ever is entertaining, emotional, philosophical, educated, and enduring. Time is the greatest soundtrack song ever and the ending is one of the best conclusions ever to a film
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroRay LiottaJoe PesciThe story of Henry Hill and his life in the mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito. It's funny, violent, emotional, and charming. A brilliant masterpiece, and is my favorite mafia movie ever
- DirectorFrank DarabontStarsTim RobbinsMorgan FreemanBob GuntonOver the course of several years, two convicts form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion.I really like this movie, I really do, but I would never have guessed this would be IMDb's top movie if didn't know about it first. A classic for sure, but not my favorite, especially the ending on the hill
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsMatthew McConaugheyAnne HathawayJessica ChastainWhen Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot, Joseph Cooper, is tasked to pilot a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans. One of best sci-fi movies of all time, it is intelligent, mind bending, emotional, and deep. One of the best soundtracks ever
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsAl PacinoRobin WilliamsHilary SwankTwo Los Angeles homicide detectives are dispatched to a northern town where the sun doesn't set to investigate the methodical murder of a local teen.Did not expect it to be a masterpiece like most of Nolans work before I entered, but I still feel like it could have been better for what it was. I mean, it had AL PACINO and ROBIN WILLIAMS in A CHRISTOPHER NOLAN MOVIE!!! Wasted potential. The thing was is that Nolan did not write this screen play, which might explain it's a normal movie and not a masterpiece
But the movie was not at all boring and I was entertained. I would still recommend it to other people - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsGuy PearceCarrie-Anne MossJoe PantolianoA man with short-term memory loss attempts to track down his wife's murderer.Christopher Nolan's first hit is a true legend. Well made movie, and one of the first movies to have a non-linear story structure.
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsJohn David WashingtonRobert PattinsonElizabeth DebickiArmed with only the word "Tenet," and fighting for the survival of the entire world, CIA operative, The Protagonist, journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a global mission that unfolds beyond real time. The problem is that it's not very philosophical, and it is way too complex. The rules and science are not so well explained in this movie. Also, almost no relationship within the characters, so the emotion in most Nolan movies are not in this one.
Try again in 10 years - DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHugh JackmanScarlett JohanssonAfter a tragic accident, two stage magicians in 1890s London engage in a battle to create the ultimate illusion while sacrificing everything they have to outwit each other.Dramatic rivalry is suspenseful and magical
- DirectorJonathan DemmeStarsJodie FosterAnthony HopkinsScott GlennA young F.B.I. cadet must receive the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims.A great detective movie with very memorable characters. A must watch for those who want to be in Law Enforcement someday
- DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteA year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game. One of the best horror movies of all time, is funny, gory, suspenseful, and dramatic. The best part is that it doesn't keep you awake at night, because the movie is fun, and not tormenting
- DirectorAndy MuschiettiStarsBill SkarsgårdJaeden MartellFinn WolfhardIn the summer of 1989, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape-shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town.On the other hand, this movie kept me awake for weeks. The scariest movie I have ever seen, but I haven't seen Hereditary, The Shining, or The Exorcist yet
- DirectorTobe HooperStarsMarilyn BurnsEdwin NealAllen DanzigerFive friends head out to rural Texas to visit the grave of a grandfather. On the way they stumble across what appears to be a deserted house, only to discover something sinister within. Something armed with a chainsaw. The Dinner scene is classic; however, the movie is a huge let down for horror fans today
- DirectorJames WanStarsPatrick WilsonRose ByrneTy SimpkinsA family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.Creepy movie, but way overrated. Nobody dies but one
- DirectorTom HollandStarsCatherine HicksChris SarandonAlex VincentA struggling single mother unknowingly gifts her son a doll imbued with a serial killer's consciousness.Gory doll movie is fun, funny, and classic
- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom.Torturing Sid is one of the darkest scenes in Pixar history, fun movie
- DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy. This overdone Pixar series is really starting to piss me off with the Rotten Tomato scores
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.My favorite Toy Story movie is funny, suspenseful, emotional, and wonderful. Wish that 4 never existed, making it one of the greatest kid's trilogies ever.
- DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye.Dropping Woody in the trash can with all the doll arms is both hilarious and terrifying
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsRussell CroweJoaquin PhoenixConnie NielsenA former Roman General sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor, and this movie has some great quotes and scenes. But it is superbly overrated.
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsMel GibsonSophie MarceauPatrick McGoohanScottish warrior William Wallace leads his countrymen in a rebellion to free his homeland from the tyranny of King Edward I of England.Mel Gibson is one of the greatest revenge actors ever. He is gory, funny, brave, and fantastic
- DirectorSidney LumetStarsHenry FondaLee J. CobbMartin BalsamThe jury in a New York City murder trial is frustrated by a single member whose skeptical caution forces them to more carefully consider the evidence before jumping to a hasty verdict.Great dialogue and characters, but what the hell is this doing on the top ten movies ever?
