So there’s this big prehistoric lizard, see, and once upon a time, the powers that be tried to kill him with a nuclear bomb. No dice, alas. But that turned out to be a good thing, as this gargantuan fire-breathing reptile ended up fighting other ginormous creatures — sometimes called Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms (MUTOs), sometimes called “Titans” — and despite doing incalculable property damage in various metropolitan cities around the world, the media-dubbed “King of the Monsters” mostly helped keep the world safe from harm. Thanks!

Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise are two of the top-billed actors in Hollywood at present. Both actors have become the go-to for action films, and they deliver high-stakes action in every film they appear in.
Cruise and Johnson have had to work hard to get to this point in their careers, and their contribution to the genre cannot be quantified. They each have their own unique traits, and for Cruise, it is his running style. This is why, when their styles were compared, Johnson had to come to his own defense.

Tom Cruise is once again Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor. The actor is one of the most high-profile stars in the film industry at present. Anything he does is subject to scrutiny, and his personal life is not beyond the scope of dissection by the media.
Cruise’s past relationships and dating life have always been in the limelight, and his new relationship with Elsina Khayrova was no different. Only this time, they have apparently already gone their separate ways.

Controversial while he may be, Tom Cruise is the quintessential movie star. You can love him or hate him, but his on-screen charisma and willingness to go all in for all his roles is what makes him, even now, a considerable box-office draw.
He embodies cinema, and his dedication to pulling out all the stops in whatever he does—whether riding off a cliff on a bike or carrying out an impossible fight sequence on the top of a moving practically-constructed train—evidences his legacy and brand in Hollywood.

But this trait of his isn’t one he cultivated recently. Even before the plethora of Mission: Impossible films showed us Cruise’s knack for committing to the unimaginable, there was one movie, right after Top Gun and The Color of Money, called Cocktail (1988), where the actor’s diligence and tenacity spoke volumes of his character.

The Alien series is one of the most famous sci-fi horror franchises in Hollywood’s history. It hasn’t always been that way, though. Upon the release of the first film in 1979, directed by Ridley Scott, the film received mixed reviews from both critics and general audiences. Despite this, the film’s basic pitch of being “Jaws in space” was strong enough to keep generating interest, eventually driving it to become a solid box office success. On a budget of just over $10 million, Alien grossed over $184 million, making it one of the highest-grossing films of that year.

Robert Downey Jr.’s ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame is one of the most important scenes in the entirety of the MCU. We have never truly felt the weight of death in this cinematic universe before the end of Tony Stark. According to Kevin Feige, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine’s iconic and emotional end in 2017’s Logan convinced the makers to chalk out something similar for Iron Man.
Tony Stark’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame
Although Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow faced her end even before Tony Stark, 2021’s Black Widow proved to be her swansong in the superhero universe. Many people may argue over the nature of her return in Black Widow but it can’t be denied that Robert Downey Jr.’s final snapping scene with the iconic “I Am Iron Man” dialogue still hit hard.
How did Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine influence Robert Downey Jr.’s MCU end?...

On July 16, 1999, Stanley Kubrick's greatly anticipated final film, Eyes Wide Shut, was released. Kubrick passed away a few months before the movie came out, and it remains one of the auteur's most provocative, controversial, and astonishing contributions to the cinematic art form. The film stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, at the time married in real life and playing a couple on-screen, as a doctor and his wife who admits she has considered having an affair. The revelation sends Cruise's Dr. Bill Harford into a tailspin through the dead of night in New York City as he wanders around looking for sexual gratification, and seeking a greater sense of control over his own life.

Michael Keaton’s 2 Tim Burton Movie Returns Mean A Sequel To His 41-Year-Old Comedy Has To Be Coming
After Batman and Beetlejuice returns, a Mr. Mom 2 featuring Michael Keaton is a possibility in Hollywood's horizon. Jack Butler could return to help his son or care for his grandkids in a potential Mr. Mom 2, following 1983's family comedy premise. Making Mr. Mom into a successful franchise sequel would be more challenging compared to Keaton's Batman and Beetlejuice returns.
With Michael Keaton reprising his decades-old Tim Burton movie roles from Batman and Beetlejuice in 2023 and 2024, it seems a sequel to his other iconic 1980s movie is in order. While Michael Keaton has had no shortage of exciting new roles in recent years, such as his outstanding performances in Dopesick, Spotlight, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Oscar-winning actor has drawn wider attention as of late after returning to his two classic 1980s characters. Texas-born actor Glen Powell takes obvious pride in his Lone Star State roots, and still spends significant time at his family’s ranch outside Austin. It must be a particular thrill then to be inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame — an annual honor that recognizes the best film talent associated with the state. IndieWire here exclusively announces Powell is now joining the hall of fame’s ranks.
You don’t have to be born in Texas to receive the honor, but you need to have made an impact there.
And what an impact Powell has made in recent years, practically stealing the show out from under Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in “Top Gun: Maverick,” helping bring back the rom-com with “Anyone But You,” and appearing in multiple films by his friend Richard Linklater. When the name of Adam Sandler is associated with a film project in the industry, the first thing that comes to the audiences’ mind is the genre of it being another comedy from the star, and rightfully so. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two has been regarded as the filmmaker’s masterpiece and has been reigning at the box office since its release earlier in March. With $577 million at the global box office, the film has become the highest-grossing film of the year. Based on Frank Herbert’s novel series, the film starred Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in lead roles.
While most critics and fans have been applauding Villeneuve’s vision for the sci-fi epic, there have been criticisms of the movie regarding its depiction of people hailing from Mena backgrounds. Critics noted the absence of significant members of Middle Eastern and North African descent in speaking roles, despite the films being inspired heavily by the cultures of the region and people.

Gil Kenan, the director of Frozen Empire, dropped some news about the Ghostbusters Netflix cartoon. Many will say that Tom Cruise saved theaters in the post-pandemic era thanks to the success of Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the 1986 cult classic aviation movie directed by the late Tony Scott. In an area of streaming, Cruise insisted on theatrical releases, and it was a well-made gamble, as Maverick earned an amazing $1.496 billion worldwide, becoming the second highest-grossing movie of the year (behind Avatar 2) and the highest-grossing in Cruise’s career. The movie also earned numerous awards and nominations, being critically acclaimed.
Now, soaring on the success of the sequel (pun intended), it makes sense that the studio and the producers wanted to bring us another sequel, and we all know that the movie, tentatively titled Top Gun 3, is in active development.

As everyone knows by now, Tom Cruise is a man of many talents and one who doesn’t shy away from taking huge risks to get what he wants. For example, he trained to base jump with a wingsuit and a parachute for his role as Ethan Hunt in the latest Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning.
But on the flip side, it’s not always that the star is seen taking a deadly gamble with his films, in fact, in his 1988 film Cocktail, the star wanted to learn the art of juggling for his role.

Top Gun 3's delay is actually good news for the franchise, ensuring a well-developed and impactful storyline. Tom Cruise's busy schedule may benefit Top Gun 3, allowing him to focus solely on the project when the time is right. Rushing the release of Top Gun 3 could potentially harm the characters and story development, as seen in the success of Top Gun: Maverick.
Although it is not yet clear when Top Gun 3 will come out, this is secretly a good thing after the box office success of Top Gun: Maverick. Despite its infamously troubled production, Top Gun: Maverick was a huge hit upon release. There was a whopping 36 years between Top Gun’s arrival and the release of its first sequel, with cinema closures related to the Covid-19 pandemic adding another two years to the long wait for the movie’s release date. Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski has a "wonderful" idea for where the story will go in Top Gun 3. Jerry Bruckheimer and Tom Cruise are excited about the Top Gun 3 story. Both Miles Teller and Glen Powell are set to return in Top Gun 3, hinting at more aerial rivalry and camaraderie.
A further sequel in the popular Top Gun franchise is now in the works, and already has a story, according to the legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Discussing the potential of Top Gun 3 with Screen Rant, Bruckheimer revealed that Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski has a "wonderful" idea for where the story will go next, and it’s an idea that Hollywood icon and lead actor Tom Cruise loves.
However, while this all sounds pretty positive, it could be a little while before we see Maverick take to the skies once again in Top Gun 3.

Modern reinterpretation of classic '80s movies, like the Amazon Prime Road House remake, can be successful and pave the way for more updates. A Cocktail remake could improve on the original's flaws with strong lead, action, and romance, following the success of Road House. Including a Tom Cruise cameo in a Cocktail remake could honor the original's legacy and capitalize on nostalgia for the '80s film.
The success of the Amazon Prime Road House remake perfectly demonstrates that a modern take on an oft-forgotten Tom Cruise movie from 36 years ago could also benefit from a modern reinterpretation. While far from perfect, Road House's reviews are good enough to validate the remake's existence, while also paving the way for other classic '80s movies to receive the update treatment. Additionally, the Road House 2 tease, suggests the entertainment industry isn't quite done with modernizing classic action thrillers, further highlighting...

When it comes to social media engagements and interactions of the fans with the profiles of Hollywood icon Tom Cruise and former WWE Superstar and pro wrestling icon John Cena, they cannot be considered anything other than polar opposites of one another.
While at one place, Cruise is known to be completely dedicated to his career and posts only about his films and other ventures, Cena takes a different route and posts random pictures which has a deeper meaning that not everyone could understand.

Inspired by producer and star Tom Cruise, Paramount's Top Gun: Maverick powered up its jet engines and made a rapid climb up the ladder of success in what was a thrilling sequel to the beloved original 1986 film, Top Gun. Described by some as the film that “saved Hollywood,” after the effects of the pandemic on the entertainment industry, the action sequel grossed an astonishingly impressive run, $1.4 billion at the global box office. Given the heights of success Top Gun: Maverick attained, it came as no surprise when it was announced that a third movie was in development with Cruise returning as the titular character, Maverick.

But we’re gonna reboot ‘Pirates,’ so that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”

Dune: Part Two was a massive hit, grossing nearly $600 million worldwide and receiving rave reviews. Timothée Chalamet's multi-film deal with Warner Bros. is a promising sign for Dune 3 negotiations. Chalamet possibly producing Dune 3 could help move the project forward, despite potential delays due to Villeneuve's vision.
Dune: Part Three is still years away, but the film just took what could be a significant step in the right direction. Years after the first film was released in 2021, Dune: Part Two came out in March 2024, becoming an instant hit, grossing nearly $600 million worldwide so far after receiving overwhelmingly positive critical acclaim. Reprising his role as Paul Atreides, Timothée Chalamet leads the Dune: Part Two cast, a role he'd return to again in a future sequel. Dune: Part Three is still up in the air, but everyone involved seems encouraged to continue.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer provides an update on Top Gun 3's story and production timeline. A legacy sequel to Tony Scott's original film from 1986, the Joseph Kosinski-directed Top Gun: Maverick was released in theaters in 2022 and enamored audiences with its high-octane aerial sequences on its way to grossing $1.4 billion at the box office. In light of this remarkable success, a third movie is reportedly in development with Tom Cruise returning as Maverick alongside Miles Teller as Rooster and Glen Powell as Hangman.
During a recent interview with Screen Rant promoting The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Bruckheimer provided an update on Top Gun 3's story, which Kosinski has a "wonderful" idea for that Cruise "really" likes. Asked if Powell will potentially take over, the producer confirmed that Cruise will be leading the team once again. He also discussed when the sequel might get made considering the star's busy schedule.
