Just over a week ago Sean “Diddy” Combs’ son Christian was in cuffs as law enforcement in Los Angeles and Miami raided the homes of his father amid sex trafficking accusations. Now, the 26-year old himself has been accused of sexual assault by a steward on a luxury yacht the family rented in late 2022 — and the elder Combs is a defendant too.
“Although Defendant S. Combs was always typically on the yacht, his sons, Defendant C. Combs and Justin Combs, were staying in a luxury villa nearby but joined their father aboard the yacht most evenings,” reads the jury-seeking suit filed late Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court by the yacht’s then-steward Grace O’Marcaigh.
While the elder Combs isn’t accused of sexual assault in the O’Marcaigh matter, he is viewed as aiding and abetting the situation.

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s ex-girlfriend Yung Miami is now being roped into his legal troubles, accused of transporting narcotics for him in additions filed Monday to Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit against the rapper-mogul, according to updated court documents.
Caresha Romeka Brownlee, 30, is accused of transporting the drug referred to as “pink cocaine” for Combs in April, according to details added to the $30 million lawsuit Rodney Jones Jr., the music producer also known as Lil Rod, filed against Combs in February.
In 25 pages added to Jones’ filing on Monday and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the suit claims the 54-year-old was partial toward the so-called “pink cocaine” or “2C-b” or “tuci.” The drug is classified as phenylethylamine 2C-b and is a combination of ecstasy and cocaine; Diddy was obtaining the drugs from Brendan Paul, Diddy’s accused drug mule, who was recently arrested. A day after federal agents and local police in Los Angeles and Miami raided the homes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the much-accused hip hip mogul is attacking those claiming he sexually assaulted them and law enforcement.
“This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits,” said Combs’ defense lawyer Aaron Dyer on Tuesday as whispers swirled about what happened on March 25 and why. “There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”

At the inaugural Academy Awards in 1929, native Pennsylvanian Janet Gaynor made history as the first American-born performer to win an Oscar by taking the Best Actress prize for her body of work in “7th Heaven,” “Street Angel,” and “Sunrise.” Over the subsequent 95 years, 215 more thespians originating from the United States won the academy’s favor, meaning the country has now produced 68.1% of all individual acting Oscar recipients. Considering the last decade alone, the rate of such winners is even higher, at 70.3%.
At this point, 96.8% of American-born acting Oscar victors have hailed from one of 34 actual states. Of those constituting the remainder, three originated from the federal District of Columbia, while four were born in the territory of Puerto Rico. New York (home to 49 winners) is the most common birth state among the entire group, followed by California (34), Illinois (13), Massachusetts (11), and Pennsylvania (11).

‘The American Society of Magical Negroes’ Star Justice Smith on His Bold New Film, D&d and PokemonGo
Upon his 2013 graduation from the Orange County School of the Arts, Justice Smith assumed he would spend some time “waiting tables and doing small roles in indie films here and there.” Instead, he found himself working the blockbuster space fairly quickly, booking roles in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and its sequel “Jurassic World Dominion.” He stood out opposite a fuzzy creature voiced by Ryan Reynolds in “Pokémon: Detective Pikachu” and as a half-elf sorcerer in “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.”
Though it was a crash course in big-budget filmmaking, the 28-year-old actor notes that he wouldn’t have had it any other way. “I’m blessed because those experiences were also highly technical environments that challenged me,” he says. “It strengthened my ability and gave me a more well-rounded arsenal of tools. While doing the thing I love.”

Since the Academy Awards were first handed out in 1929, only 23 Oscars have been awarded to performances given by Black actresses and actors. Hattie McDaniel made history for Black performers by winning for “Gone With the Wind” (supporting in 1939), while Sidney Poitier was the first male actor to prevail for “Lilies of the Field” (lead in 1963). Denzel Washington became the first two-time Black acting champion when he claimed victory for “Glory” (supporting in 1989) and “Training Day” (lead in 2001), with Mahershala Ali joining him years later for “Moonlight” (supporting in 2016) and “Green Book” (supporting in 2018). Halle Berry was the first, and so far only, Black Best Actress thanks to “Monster’s Ball” (2001). The acting category with the most Black winners is Best Supporting Actress, with 10 including recent champ Da’Vine Joy Randolph for “The Holdovers” (2023). The Oscars ceremony that took place in 2009 remains an all-time favorite for many who watched it, including your humble correspondent, largely because of the thrilling way in which the four acting Oscars were presented: Five past winners introduced the five current nominees for each award. This resulted in massive standing ovations from the audience at the Dolby (even awards show veterans like Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep looked absolutely giddy in cutaway shots); introductory remarks from past winners that left current nominees visibly moved (Anne Hathaway was in tears); and group hugs of the new winners that were akin to welcoming them into an elite fraternity or sorority (see: Kate Winslet).

Sean Combs aka Diddy is facing a $30 million dollar lawsuit over allegedly sexually assaulting a former employee, further claiming that the hip hop superstar sought out to groom him into a relationship. Combs is actively denying such claims.
According to several sources, Rodney Jones, Jr. – who notably collaborated with Sean Combs on last year’s The Love Album: Off the Grid – alleges that he was taken advantage of by the Grammy winner both physically and financially. While we won’t go into the details – although documents do point out specifics about misconduct, rape and more – they are disturbing at least in part for how Combs allegedly used his power and position to do as he pleased. Other individuals are cited as well, the most famous of which is Cuba Gooding Jr., who also apparently took advantage of Jones in a sexual manner.

The business mogul took pictures at Cuba Gooding Jr.’s birthday party last month, showing off a much sleeker physique reminiscent of his early 2000’s look.

But his old body found common ground with his newer, more contemporary style. Early 2000’s 50 Cent was often seen wearing G-Unit branded apparel with long sleeves and baggy pants.

Nowadays, his outfits are similar to what he wore to Gooding Jr’s party. There, he wore a regular-sized and deceptively modest black t-shirt with matching colored jeans.
He also sported a black fitted New York cap to shout out the city and state that birthed him. The gold chain around his neck was perhaps the highlight of his wardrobe.

A reality series featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs that was in early stages at Hulu has been scrapped, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Production company Fulwell 73 was behind the project that would have focused on the music mogul’s family life. This news follows four suits having been filed against Combs since November, with three of them coming prior to the deadline to bring a claim under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. Combs has denied the allegations.
The latest complaint was filed in New York federal court last week by a woman suing as Jane Doe, who alleged that the rapper and former Bad Boy Entertainment President Harve Pierre raped her in 2003 when she was 17 years old.
Three previous suits were filed in November, including one from Joi Dickerson-Neal, who appeared in one of the star’s music videos and claimed that he drugged and raped her when she...

Sean “Diddy” Combs is stepping back as chairman of his company Revolt Media in the midst of multiple sexual assault lawsuits, a rep confirmed.
There was no statement today. But last week his representatives called claims “fabricated” and “falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit. The New York Legislature surely did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited by scammers. The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these bogus allegations.”
The reference is to the New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault plaintiffs to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. That window closed November 23. Three suits against Combs,...

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been sued for sexual assault for the second time in a week.
In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in New York Supreme Court, Joi Dickerson-Neal claimed that the rapper and record mogul drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991 and later engaged in “revenge porn”.
She claims to have “substantial and lifetime injuries”, reports Deadline.com.
Dickerson-Neal was a Syracuse University student at the time of the alleged assault. She had appeared briefly on one of Combs’ music videos. She says they went on a dinner date in Harlem that led to her being “intentionally drugged” after leaving her drink unattended. The effects left her “in a physical state where she could not independently stand or walk,” the suit claims.
The plaintiff also alleges that they left in Combs’ car.

Jamie Foxx, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr. Sued in Wave of Sexual Assault Lawsuits Ahead of Key Deadline
A series of high-profile figures in Hollywood are being sued ahead of a deadline to file lawsuits under a New York law that suspended time constraints on claims involving allegations of sexual misconduct for one year.
At the top of the list of defendants who are expected to be sued or were named in complaints filed Wednesday and Thursday in New York’s state Supreme Court: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jamie Foxx and Jimmy Iovine. On Tuesday, Bill Cosby was also sued in another suit from a woman claiming the actor drugged and sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.
Plaintiffs, who typically would’ve been constrained from suing under the statute of limitations, have been taking advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which revived the window to bring sexual misconduct claims for one year. After pleading guilty in criminal court, Gooding Jr again faces two plaintiffs who allege forcible kissing and groping
Cuba Gooding Jr was sued on Wednesday by two women whose sexual assault cases against the Oscar-winning actor underlay a criminal prosecution that ended with him pleading guilty but serving no jail time.
In a complaint filed in a New York state court in Manhattan, Jasmine Abbay said the Jerry Maguire star forcibly kissed her without her consent in September 2018, while she was working as a cocktail waitress at the Lavo nightclub in midtown Manhattan.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is facing two new lawsuits from women who claimed that he groped them in separate incidents at New York restaurants in 2018 and 2019.
The lawsuits were filed on Wednesday in New York Supreme Court under the state’s Adult Survivors Act, which is set to expire this week. The law gives plaintiffs a window to file civil claims of sexual offenses that have otherwise been barred by the statute of limitations.
The litigation is the latest against Gooding, who settled a lawsuit in June with a woman who accused him of rape in 2013.
In the 2018 claim, a cocktail waitress working at Lavo restaurant and nightclub in New York accused Gooding of forcing his tongue in her mouth without her consent. Gooding pleaded guilty to a charge related to the incident last year. The lawsuit includes a portion of the transcript from an April, 2022 hearing where Gooding admitted to the conduct.

Brendan Fraser is ready to continue his revival, landing his first leading role after winning the Academy Award for The Whale. Fraser will star in Hikari’s Rental Family, which comes from a script co-written by Hikari and Stephen Blahut.
As per Deadline, Rental Family “follows a down and out actor living in Tokyo, who is hired as a token American guy for a Japanese rental family company, leading him on an unexpected journey of self-discovery through the roles he plays in other people’s lives.” Filming will begin in spring 2024 in Japan. No other cast has been announced outside of Brendan Fraser at this time.
So far, Brendan Fraser has avoided the post-Oscar slump that the likes of Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire), Adrian Brody (The Pianist) and so many others have suffered. In fact, his first picture after his Best Actor win was for Martin Scorsese in Killers of the Flower Moon.

“Beckham” is leading Netflix’s Top 10 English language TV list after a clip from the docuseries went viral over the weekend.
The aforementioned clip shows David Beckham questioning his wife, Victoria Beckham, over her claims she grew up working class. Not only has the clip made a sizable impression on social media, but it seems as though the show it’s from has been popular as well. The docuseries topped Netflix’s English language list with 12.4 million views during its first week.
The four-episode limited series was then followed by Season 4 of “Sex Education,” which accounted for 6.6 million views, and Season 5 of “Love Is Blind,” which brought in 3.7 million views. “One Piece” also appeared on the list for its sixth week in a row, nabbing the fourth spot as well as 2.5 million views.

Actor John Travolta returned to television decades after his breakout role in the TV sitcom Welcome Back Kotter. But his decision to revisit the small screen was heavily inspired by a conversation he had with two moguls in the entertainment industry.
John Travolta wrestled with being on this hit Ryan Murphy show John Travolta | Jason Laveris/FilmMagic
Travolta was cast in Ryan Murphy’s hit FX television series People vs. O.J. Simpson. The American Crime story was a dramatic retelling of the O.J. Simpson trial with Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. as the titular figure. Travolta would portray American attorney Robert Shapiro in the mini-series.
The series’ creator Ryan Murphy wanted to use inspired casting for his show, which landed him Travolta. The pair would eventually meet to discuss the show.
“I was trying to do the unexpected piece of casting,” Murphy recalled in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Today came the sad news that Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell died at 56. Smash Mouth is undoubtedly best known today for the fact their 1999 hit song "All Star" played at the very beginning of the first "Shrek" movie. Like with everything else related to "Shrek," the song has become a bit of a meme.
It's easy to forget, however, that before "Shrek" debuted at Cannes and went on to win the very first Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, "All Star" was a smash hit way before Shrek. It was considered one of the best songs of 1999 and even got nominated for the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal Grammy. While "Shrek" immortalized it, it was actually another film from 2001 that gave us the best use of "All Star," and one of the best endings to a movie of the last 20 years.

Keeping it in the family is very much a Hollywood tradition at this point, and in the 21st century acting families are still thriving. Whether it be Cuba Gooding Jr.’s son Mason joining the cast of the last two Scream movies, Lily-Rose Depp leading The Idol, Maya Hawke becoming a fan favorite in Stranger Things, or Ethan Peck (grandson of Gregory) roaming the bridge of the Enterprise in Star Trek, there’s always a new generation of nepo babies lurching from crib to screen.

Cameron Crowe is the Oscar-winning writer-director who firmly established himself as one of the most distinctive cinematic voices working today, creating comedic dramas about the inherent goodness of people. But how many of his titles remain classics? Let’s take a look back Crowe’s 10 greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Born in 1957 in Palm Springs, California, Crowe got his start as a teenage music journalist for “Rolling Stone,” touring with the Allman Brothers when he was just 16 years old. His love for rock bands landed him lucrative interviews with such hot groups as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and the Eagles.
His background in journalism led him to go undercover as a high school student to write a book about the experience of Southern California teenagers that would later become the film “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” (1982), which he also wrote the screenplay for. He made his directorial debut seven...

Tom Cruise has many popular movies under his belt, with the famous Jerry Maguire being one of the actor’s highlights. But the film’s director believed another veteran filmmaker tried to take Cruise away from the project, which would’ve been disastrous for the feature.
How Cameron Crowe felt this director tried to sabotage ‘Jerry Maguire’ Tom Cruise | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Jerry Maguire was Cruise’s classic 1996 comedy feature about a sports agent trying to run his own successful business. Director Crowe already recruited a couple of notable actors for the movie like Cuba Gooding Jr. and Renee Zellweger.
But perhaps one of the people he wanted to cast in the film the most wasn’t an actor at all. Crowe tried to persuade veteran filmmaker Billy Wilder to play the role of Dicky Fox. Crowe was a genuine fan of Wilder, and considered the possibility of collaborating with his idol in the comedy.

Cuba Gooding Jr. settled on a lawsuit that accused him of rape on Tuesday.
The jury was supposed to convene on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and at 10:24 am a note was passed onto jurors that the matter had been resolved. The details of the settlement agreement have not been released yet.
Gooding was accused of raping a woman twice on August 24, 2013, in New York City at the Mercer Hotel. The two met at a restaurant in the city, Le Souk Lounge, and then Gooding allegedly convinced her to come up to his room so that he could change his clothes. Once there, the two took shots together and then he allegedly groped her and raped her twice.
The woman was seeking $6 million in damages.
Gooding had insisted that he was innocent and that the encounters were consensual, but he still decided to settle.

Cuba Gooding Jr.’s civil sex abuse case, which alleged that he raped a woman in a New York City hotel in 2013, will no longer go to trial. The actor settled the lawsuit on Tuesday, just minutes before jury selection in the scheduled trial began, the Associated Press reports. The official court record stated “the parties have resolved the matter” as the reason for cancellation.
Last week, Judge Paul A. Crotty ruled that the woman allegedly assaulted by the actor would no longer be able to proceed anonymously in the case.

Updated, 9:33 Am: Cuba Gooding Jr. will not have to face trial for rape.
Minutes before jury selection was schedule to start this morning in New York in the civil case against the Oscar winner for an alleged 2013 assault, a deal was announced between the Oscar winner and the unnamed plaintiff.
“Trial Off: The jury trial scheduled to go forward today is off the calendar,” it said in the federal court docket Tuesday. “Reason for cancellation (on consent): the parties have resolved the matter.”
As is common with matters such as this, the settlement is being kept confidential. However, from what sources tell us, Gooding paid the alleged victim a “considerable sum” to end the case.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has settled a lawsuit accusing him of rape just before the case was set for trial, the New York Times reported Tuesday morning. An unidentified woman had accused him of rape in a civil lawsuit filed in 2020.
The trial was set to begin Tuesday in a New York City federal court.
In her lawsuit, the woman claimed the alleged incident occurred in Gooding’s New York City hotel room after meeting him at a Greenwich Village lounge in 2013. Oscar-winning Jerry Maguire star was accused of raping unnamed woman but his lawyers have insisted encounter was consensual
Just as a trial was to begin, it was revealed on Tuesday that Cuba Gooding Jr has settled accusations that he raped a woman in a New York City hotel a decade ago, according to court records. The actor had insisted through lawyers that his encounter with the woman was consensual after the two met at a nearby restaurant.
The trial was to start with jury selection in New York federal court as the Oscar-winning Jerry Maguire star faced allegations that he met the woman in Manhattan, persuaded her to join him at a hotel, and convinced her to stop at his room so he could change clothing.

“Show me the money,” Cuba Gooding Jr. famously tells Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Wall Street has been pressuring Hollywood to do the same, as investors push for streaming profits amid economic headwinds. Key parts of the solution for industry players, from Disney to Amazon Studios, have been cost cuts. But while entertainment companies have been showing the door to thousands of staffers, they have also shown their top executives the money — again.
In a case of bad timing, disclosures of higher (or lower, but still very healthy) CEO compensation in regulatory filings in March and April have made for a sharp contrast with layoffs and the start of the writers strike. This executive pay reporting season didn’t repeat last year’s picture of several bosses joining the very exclusive nine-figure club, starring Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel ($308.2 million) and Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav ($246.6 million). But several top...

A lot of Academy Award winners get weepy, sentimental and downright ugly in their speeches. One such Oscar winner is Gwyneth Paltrow, who gave an over-the-top speech that began humbly enough before it quickly turned into a sobfest that is often cited as one of the cringiest acceptance speeches ever.
On the Call Her Daddy podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow discussed both the origins of her emotions and the backlash she faced after winning Best Actress for Shakespeare in Love. “I cried and people were so mean about it and I just thought, ‘Wow there’s this big energy shift that’s happening. I think I’m going to have to learn to be less openhearted and much more protective of myself and filter people out better.’…I remember I was working in England…and I remember the British press being so horrible to me because I cried. And they didn’t...

Clear the runway! It’s time to revisit Zoolander… Directed and co-written by Ben Stiller, the film focuses on Derek Zoolander, a slow-witted supermodel, who becomes embroiled in an international conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia by the top people in the fashion industry, namely Jacobim Mugatu and Derek’s agent Maury Ballstein, before he can pass progressive labor laws in his country that would harm their businesses. Zoolander is recruited as a pawn and brainwashed into killing him during a fashion show. If that wasn’t enough, Derek faces an identity crisis due to his declining popularity, his family’s embarrassment of his occupation, and his search for a higher calling in life besides being ridiculously good looking. Thanks to his friend and eventual love interest, journalist Matilda Jeffries, Derek becomes aware of the planned assassination plot. Once Derek squashes his beef with competing male model Hansel,...
