I believe that with his recent successes in LOTR and Star Wars that Christopher Lee has gone from being known as a 'horror legend' to being seen purely as a respected veteran actor. A great deal of fans who know him from these films have never seen a Hammer film.
Do you think that he has escaped the horror stamp, or will it follow him forever? To put in context, when he dies, do you think they will say, "Actor Christopher Lee", or "Christopher Lee, 'Dracula'"?
And when I say 'typecast' I do not mean by casting agents, but by the public in general.
