The episode of The Black Sheep covering DeepStar Six was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Sean S. Cunningham will always be primarily remembered for directing the original Friday the 13th, but he has taken the helm of some other movies that are worth checking out, like 1985’s The New Kids and the subject of the latest entry in our Black Sheep video series, DeepStar Six (get it Here).
Released in 1989 and often compared to its fellow ’89 release Leviathan (which has also gotten the Black Sheep treatment), DeepStar Six was scripted Geoff Miller and Lewis Abernathy – which is interesting because movies like Leviathan and DeepStar Six exist because James Cameron’s The Abyss was coming out the same year, and Abernathy and Cameron are pals. Abernathy even had an acting role in Titanic.

Monday, Dec. 14 Greenwich Acquires North American Rights to ‘Days of the Bagnold Summer’
Greenwich Entertainment has bought North American distribution rights to “Days of the Bagnold Summer,” the directorial debut of Simon Bird (star of “The Inbetweeners”), for a Feb. 19 release in theaters and on demand.

This big, expensive and well-produced action-suspense Sci-fi epic mostly delivers on its promise to be Aliens at the bottom of the sea. At heart it’s a 1950s pulse-pounder with a bigger monster, a zillion times the budget and a script that does everything but make us care. We appreciate the likable characters but it’s too easy to predict who will ‘get it’ next. The realism factor is not bad at all, although the undersea explorer video training sessions should have given ‘how not to crack up under stress’ more emphasis. And can’t anybody properly mind those pesky nuclear bombs?

While it may not be Friday, there is still plenty to celebrate this Tuesday the 13th, as we prepare to head back to Camp Crystal Lake with Scream Factory’s impressive Friday the 13th Collection, which brings together all the films from the original franchise, as well as the remake and Freddy vs. Jason as well. Scream Factory also put together a Blu-ray release of one of the most seminal films from my childhood this week—Terror in the Aisles—and they even are giving Motel Hell the Steelbook treatment on Tuesday as well.
Kino Lorber is also keeping busy this week with their special edition Blu for DeepStar Six as well as a SteelBook for Rawhead Rex, and for those of you who dig on The Exorcist sequels, both Dominion and Exorcist: The Beginning come home on Blu-ray this Tuesday, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

HBO Max has given a direct-to-series order to a “Pretty Little Liars” reboot from “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the streaming service said Thursday.
Titled “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” the show will be set in a new town and follow a “new generation” of liars, but exist in the same universe as the Freeform series created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard. King is not involved in the reboot.
Here’s the official description for “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”:
Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own.

“Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on a reboot of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars,” TheWrap has learned.
Aguirre-Sacasa’s take on the teen drama, which was created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard, would follow a new story, focused on new characters. He is developing the “Pll” project for Warner Bros. TV — which recently absorbed “Pretty Little Liars’s” original studio, Warner Horizon — where he has an overall deal.
Showrunner of both The CW’s “Riverdale” and Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Aguirre-Sacasa will executive produce the potential reboot series alongside Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.
No platform is attached to the reboot, which is still in the early stages of development and has not been taken out to the marketplace yet.
Warner Bros. TV declined to comment on the “Pretty Little Liars” project.

If you don’t recognize Nia Peeples don’t feel too bad, but if you do then you were obviously an 80s kid since that was when she got her start. She’s been active for a lot of years now but it would seem that some of her work went under the radar since she hasn’t been what you might call a big name in Hollywood in a while. But instead of selling her short there are a few clips below that will give you a better idea of what she’s done and why she’s still relevant to the industry. If anything

But creator I. Marlene King tells People the story "was three and a half years in the making."
"If you go back and watch all the CeCe episodes, you can tell that we were building her A story," King says of "Big A" really being Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Jason's (Drew Van Acker) long-lost sister, who was confined to a mental institutional as a boy...

Fame is alive again at Lifetime, thanks to So You Think You Can Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe.
Lythgoe is partnering with the cable network for an updated version of the 1980s dance-themed drama series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Development is still in the early stages, with writer Josh Safran currently attached to pen the pilot episode about dancers attending a major performing arts academy.
Safran is familiar with the musical drama format through his work as showrunner of short-lived NBC series Smash's second season.
No cast members are attached to Fame yet, and it's not clear when it will air on Lifetime.
A Fame revival has long been in development from MGM, having first been announced back in the summer of 2012.
The 1982 television version of Fame was based on the hit 1980 film of the same, and made stars of Debbie Allen, Nia Peeples and Jesse Borrego.

Giant lava breathing tarantulas – Lavalantulas – erupt out of ancient volcanos in the Santa Monica Mountains, raining death and destruction upon Los Angeles, in the just-announced Syfy Original Movie Lavalantula, premiering in Summer 2015. Who will save us from the terrifying and deadly spider invasion? How about Steve Guttenberg and his cast-mates from Police Academy?
With the City of Angels on the verge of incineration, only a washed up ‘90s action hero actor, played by Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy, Diner) – joined by Police Academy alumni Leslie Easterbrook (Police Academy) and Michael Winslow (Police Academy: The Series) — stand in the way of this monstrous swarm of bloodthirsty creatures who burn their victims alive.
Currently in production in Los Angeles, Lavalantula also co-stars Nia Peeples (The Young and the Restless) and Ralph Garman (Kroq/La DJ) and is directed by Mike Mendez, who won a Saturn Award for helming another giant-creature feature, Big Ass Spiders.

Original "Police Academy" stars Steve Guttenberg, Leslie Easterbrook and Michael Winslow are re-teaming for the Syfy original movie "Lavalantula".
The story follows a group of massive, lava-breathing tarantulas that descend upon Los Angeles from the Santa Monica Mountains.
As they rain death and destruction upon Los Angeles, a washed up 1990s action hero (Guttenberg) is the only thing standing in the way of this monstrous swarm of bloodthirsty creatures who burn their victims alive.
Nia Peeples and Ralph Garman also star in the film which is currently filming in Los Angeles ahead of a Summer 2015 broadcast. Check out the official art below:

Syfy’s next creature film film will give us many gifts. Let’s list each of them in turn:
The movie has giant fire-breathing tarantulas.
Its title is Lavalantula.
The lavalantulas attack Los Angeles, a city that’s always worth picking on.
The movie has an awesome poster (below) including the nearly nonsensical tagline “Fire Burns. Lava Bites.”
The movie stars Steve Guttenberg, who was in the Police Academy films.
The movie co-stars Leslie Easterbrook, who was also in the Police Academy films.
The movie co-stars Michael Winslow, who was also in the Police Academy films.

Is it just me, or has there always been something a little off-kilter about Mrs. Dilaurentis? In this episode of Pretty Little Liars we see a few different sides of her, and none of them are particularly flattering.
Emily (Shay Mitchell) and her mom have been living out of a motel since ‘A’ decided to send a strongly worded message via a car through their living room wall. Of course, her mother just thinks it was a reckless driver, but Emily knows the truth. Only ‘A’ could get away with slamming heavy machinery into a house without leaving a trace.
As if Emily’s stunt with the missing key to Wilden’s apartment wasn’t enough of a blow to her mother’s sanity. Pam (Nia Peeples) has had a rough run as of late with her household (literally) falling apart. The child-abuse concerns seem to have fallen by the wayside,...

Teen soap "Pretty Little Liars" has taken a particularly dark turn this season, especially for The Fields family.
Pam (Nia Peeples) faced allegations of child abuse after she grabbed her daughter Emily's (Shay Mitchell) arm during an argument in front of her high school. The police investigation is most likely the work of the elusive "A" and it might be the furthest the faceless blackmailer has gone thus far on the ABC Family series.
During an interview with HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps about her new beauty initiative More Than Skin Deep, Peeples said she's happy with the heavy subject matter because it gives her a challenge.
"I was thrilled to see something come my way that really made my character walk a difficult path," she said. "It's much more challenging for me. I prefer that."
Peeples said the child abuse storyline is an invigorating arc for her character after...

We'll confess to not seeing the ending to "Pretty Little Liars" latest episode coming at all. But we definitely are not surprised in the least.
Ashley/Hanna/Mona
Hanna has the spectacularly bad idea that she's going to take the fall for her mom, claiming she actually killed Wilden in self-defense. And let's be real -- the only Liar who could remotely pull something like that off is Spencer.
After some excellent coaching from Mona -- the only one who has actually lived in a lie -- Hanna seems, well, still not ready. It seems like it's going to backfire miserably, so thankfully Caleb is there to rein Hanna in.
Then awesomely, it's Mona who walks sassily into the police station and confesses, providing the Liars with an enigmatic smile at the end. Mona rules all. Mona should be in every episode and the show should be retitled "Mona and Some Other Girls.

Has Wilden’s true killer finally been revealed? … I doubt it.
There’s a chance Hanna (Ashley Benson) might have gone a little too far helping her mom on the July 30 episode of Pretty Little Liars. Desperate to get her mom out of prison, she decided to tell the cops that she killed Detective WIlden (Bryce Johnson), and she turned to the one person she knew could help her perfect a lie: Mona (Janel Parrish)! Unfortunately, Hanna’s knight in shining hair didn’t approve of her new ally. Could this be the beginning of the end of her relationship with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn)?
Nope! They’re still fine. (Sorry to get you all worried there.) There was a pretty big twist, though, when Mona showed up to the police station and confessed to killing Wilden herself! What does she have up her sleeve?!
Did Wilden Kill Toby’s Mom?...

The first Sunday after the July 4 holiday saw primetime originals on every network except Fox. The biggest kid on the block was Big Brother (2.1/6). With some of last week’s online controversy addressed on air, the vet reality series was up 11% from its June 30 broadcast. The highest-rated show on the Big 4 last night was also the second-highest-rated Big Brother episode this season behind its 2.2 from the June 26 premiere. Big Brother was the second-most-watched show Sunday night with 6.25 million viewers; a 60 Minutes encore at 7 Pm was the most watched overall with 7.55 million viewers. According to preliminary results, the second-highest-rated show Sunday was Fox’s Family Guy (1.7/5) repeat at 9 Pm. Overall, CBS and Fox tied for the top spot in adults 18-49 with both scoring a 1.2/4. Among total viewers, CBS was No. 1 with 5.426 million watching. It was certainly an adventure '80s pop star Tiffany wasn't expecting when she signed up for "Celebrity Wife Swap." Shw switched places with actress Nia Peeples, and was completely stunned to find that Nia wasn't living in typical celebrity accommodations.
Nia lives in a renovated mobile home, and there isn't room in the home for a guest room. So where would Tiffany sleep?
Nia's husband, Sam, explained, "When people come to stay, they stay out here in the lovely garden. We pitch them a tent.”
“What am I doing in a tent back here?" Tiffany said in her first night outside. "God, please help me.”
Luckily, the tent proved to be the most unpleasant part of the swamp for the one-time queen of the mall tour. In fact, it proved to be a positive experience for both women. Tiffany learned she was a little controlling and high maintenance while...

"Celebrity Wife Swap" has outdone itself this summer. When the series returns on Sunday, June 23, audiences will get a double swap: Bristol Palin and her sister, Willow -- the daughters of politician Sarah Palin -- will trade places with Joan and Melissa Rivers.
The results may be explosive.
For the episode, Melissa Rivers will head to Wasilla, Alaska to spend a week living with Willow Palin and Bristol's four-year-old son, Tripp. Bristol Palin, meanwhile, will head to Los Angeles for a week with Joan and Melissa's 12-year-old- son, Cooper. Two very different lifestyles will be on display for the show.
At the Palin household, it seems that Tripp is in charge. Melissa will have to deal not only with snow (not a big thing in La) but also with Tripp's energy and lack of discipline. Willow isn't likely to be much help with this as she is more often Tripp's co-conspirator.

HollywoodLife.com picked our top five burning questions from last night’s mind-blowing finale, and we’d love to hear your theories.
1. Who Set The Fire?
Toby (Keegan Allen) is most likely going to take the fall for lighting the house on fire — the arsonist gave him the lighter once the deed was done — but I’m pretty sure he’s not the guilty party. So who is? Alison (Sasha Pieterse) pulled the girls, including Mona (Janel Parrish), out of the burning building, so I don’t think it’s her. Could it be Jenna (Tammin Sursok) or Shana (Arielle Miranda)?

If all goes as planned, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill will reunite on the silver screen in 2015 for Star Wars: Episode VII, a movie set in the hours, days, years, decades or eons after Darth Vader’s torchlight funeral near the piney stomping grounds of the Ewoks. But when they reach the set next year, the actors will be 30 years removed from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. A new generation of heroes and villains will clearly be needed to move the franchise on to Episode VIII and beyond, but how to accomplish that?

Director: Louis Morneau. Writers: Michael Tabb, Catherine Cyran, and Louis Morneau. Cast: Nia Peeples, Steven Bauer, Stephen Rea, Ed Quinn, Ana Ularu, Rachel Dipillo, Adam Croasdell and Guy Wilson. Universal Pictures has been making werewolf themed thrillers since the early '40s and you would think that they would have perfected this genre by now. Their latest production, Werewolf: The Best Among Us, is definitely not perfect and possibly even mediocre. From the abysmal film Joy Ride 2, director Louis Morneau is no stranger to the direct-to-video style of filmaking. As well, Universal's newest production arm, Universal 1440 Entertainment, is also very familiar with Dtv releases. However, Werewolf: The Beast Among Us is unable to step away from film cliches and the title here seems like a re-imaged Van Helsing (2004). All the characters and situations seem artificial. The story, as it is, follows a group of werewolf hunters in Eastern Europe. A local town has experienced.

"It's like a Syfy Channel movie with extra gore," is precisely how my friend, colleague, and astute schlock aficionado Peter S. Hall described the latest "direct-to-video" horror flick from Universal. "Does it seem like the movie has any connection to the Benicio del Toro remake of The Wolfman?", was my next question, and for that answer I had to watch the movie. Short answer: no. Louis Morneau's Werewolf: The Beast Among Us has no connection to Joe Johnston's The Wolfman. The studio's response? Rebooting the reboot with Werewolf: The Beast Among Us, which has now quietly arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The plot is fairly simple: a 19th Century European village is being terrorized by a werewolf and a doctor's apprentice (Guy Wilson) joins a team of werewolf hunters (Ed Quinn, Steven Bauer, and Adam Croasdell) to bring down the, well,...
