In November, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a federal lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York federal court. Her lawsuit includes graphic claims of sexual assault, physical abuse, and an allegation that Combs, her ex-boyfriend, would force her to have sex with male sex workers while he watched. Ventura’s claims are among the worst, but not the first controversy that the music mogul and entrepreneur has been alleged to be involved in.

New Drake-produced doscuseries “Magic City: An American Fantasy” debuted at SXSW Monday night to a roaring crowd packed with friends, patrons and fans of the project’s titular iconic Atlanta strip club, Magic City.
After the first episode of the three-part doc, which does not yet have a distributor or platform attached, was screened, producer Cole Brown and director Charles Todd fielded a few questions from the audience, including “Was there anything too explicit to put in the documentary?”
“We wanted to walk a fine line with nudity, in particular — where you can’t make a documentary about a strip club and not have any nudity, it just isn’t true to form — and you’re trying to tell the true story,” Brown said. “At the same time, we didn’t want it to be salacious, gratuitous. "If you tried to bring back Freaknik, it wouldn't be what it was." Hulu has unveiled an official trailer for a documentary film titled Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told, streaming at the end of March. This is premiering at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival in the "24 Beats Per Second" section before it hits the web. From Executive Producers Luke Campbell, Jermaine Dupri and 21 Savage, and masterfully crafted by Mass Appeal & Swirl Films, Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told is a celebratory exploration of the boisterous times of Freaknik, the iconic Atlanta street party that drew hundreds of thousands of people in the 1980s and 1990s, helping put Atlanta on the map culturally. What began as a Black college cookout, soon became known for lurid tales of highway hookups and legendary late-night rowdy parties that ultimately led to the festival's downfall. At its height, Freaknik was a traffic stopping, city-shuttering,...

Usher is addressing the speculation that he asked Justin Bieber to join him during the Super Bowl halftime show.
During an interview with The Breakfast Club on Friday, the singer confirmed that he did reach out to Bieber about an appearance but said that the two weren’t able to join forces onstage.
“It didn’t work out with Justin. I honor and recognize that, my brother. I think that it might’ve been the fact that he’s just wanting to tell a different story right now. And I understand that,” he explained.
He went on to share that the two did “have a brief conversation” and even though the stars didn’t align for a halftime show collaboration, “We’re gonna do something else in the future. No love lost or anything like that. It’s a lot of pressure for the Super Bowl, obviously,” Usher added.

Alicia Keys gave a surprise performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl Lviii Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in addition to other exciting guests in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Keys wore all red and played the keys on her red piano, playing her hit, “If I Ain’t Got You,” in front of a massive crowd.
The “Girl on Fire” singer later joined halftime show headliner Usher to perform their 2004 hit “My Boo” as they danced together.
But it was Usher’s intimate embrace of Keys at the end of the performance that unsettled fans of the two married performers, with many deeming it as “offensive” and “inappropriate.”
Lil Jon and Ludacris went on stage to add more Y2K nostalgia to the show. The rappers were both featured on Usher’s “Yeah.” They celebrated Historically Black Colleges and Universities by having Jackson State University’s The South Marching Band perform with them during halftime.

Sunday’s Super Bowl drew 123.4 million viewers across CBS and Paramount+, according to preliminary numbers. That’s the most for any broadcast since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the Moon on July 20, 1969, and the most-watched non-news telecast of all time.
Nielsen says the total number of viewers who watched any part of Super Bowl Lviii was 202.4 million, up from 2023’s 184 million.
The game was a good one — especially late — and that is the single most-important factor for a major sporting event to drive TV ratings. And yes, Taylor Swift certainly helped too.
The Kansas City Chiefs came from behind to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime, 25-22. The game, which had been 10-3 in favor of the Niners at halftime, ended on a walk-off touchdown toss from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to wide receiver Mecole Hardman. Update: Nielsen has updated their estimate, reporting that Super Bowl Lviii reached 123.7 million viewers, up from the initial count of 123.4 million.
The Feb. 11 Super Bowl game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers brought in an average of 123.4 million viewers — the highest number of people watching the same broadcast in the history of television.
112 million of those viewers were tuned into the CBS broadcast — the largest audience ever for a single network. The rest were measured across Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports and NFL digital properties including NFL+. Per Paramount Global, Paramount+ saw record-breaking viewership that made Sunday the most-streamed Super Bowl ever, but exact data regarding streaming views isn’t available.
Before this, the biggest telecast of all time was last year’s Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. It was initially named the third most-watched, ranking behind the 2015 and 2017 Super Bowls...

R&b singer Usher made a musical comeback as the headliner for the Super Bowl Lviii halftime show.
The show included an extensive ensemble of performers made up of dancers, acrobats and a marching band. Usher wasn’t the only star on stage—Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Will.i.am, H.E.R. and Jermaine Dupri all joined in for the show.
The crowd cheered as Usher and fellow musicians performed their best hits, including “Omg” and “My Boo.” Usher made multiple outfit changes, at one point going shirtless before concluding the show in a bedazzled padding.
Audiences appeared to enjoy the show as it happened live. However, Usher’s performance may have been hindered by Taylor Swift‘s attendance at the game. While Swift did not perform, many fans tuned in to the Super Bowl to watch Swift cheer on her boyfriend,Travis Kelce, of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Longtime Usher fans praised the show.

The NFL set the internet ablaze on Monday with theories that a recording of Alicia Keys’ halftime appearance was pitch-corrected before its release on YouTube.
Keys dazzled as the first guest of Usher’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday, beginning her performance with “If I Ain’t Got You” seated at a red piano with a massive matching cape behind her. In the opening note of the song, many fans heard Keys’ voice crack. Clips of the vocal stumble spread across the internet, but many later noticed it was missing from the official recording of the performance later uploaded to YouTube.
Online, many fans presented evidence of the change with side-by-side edits of the live show and pitch-corrected recording.
Reps for Keys and the NFL did not immediately respond to The Hollywood Reporter‘s request for comment.

It looks like wedding bells may be in pop star Usher’s future.
The singer and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, obtained a marriage license in Las Vegas last week, according to Clark County court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
The big news for the couple broke Sunday as Super Bowl Lviii got under way at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, where Usher was in the final hours before he was set to perform during the halftime show. There, he was joined onstage by special guests including Alicia Keys, H.E.R., will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris and Lil Jon.

The Kansas City Chiefs are still the Super Bowl champs.
The team beat the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl Lviii in overtime Sunday with a final score of 25-22. It was only the second time in NFL history that a Super Bowl game has gone into overtime, following Super Bowl Li in 2017, when the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons.
The 2024 Super Bowl, which aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Super Bowl Lviii marked the Chiefs’ fourth time in five years to reach the big game. They headed into Sunday with three franchise wins: in 1970, 2020 and last year.
The 49ers, meanwhile, have won five previous Super Bowls: in 1982, 1985, 1989, 1990 and 1995.
A slew of stars were in the audience to watch the game Sunday, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Paul Rudd and LeBron James.
Commercials were selling for $7 million per half-minute spot.

With Taylor Swift in the 65,000-strong crowd at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Usher couldn’t have had any illusions about who had the greater star power and the media’s attention as he hit the field for the halftime show.
So, battling some initial microphone problems, the slick R&b singer and the producing team of Dps with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Jesse Collins leaned in hard to the showmanship that Usher always has done best, and hoped for the best.

Marking the second time Usher has performed at the Halftime Show (thanks to his guest spot during The Black Eyed Peas’ performance in 2011), the pop star took charge at Super Bowl Lviii, taking the stage for a display of gyrating, roller skating, and pop nostalgia. Running through some of his biggest hits — like “My Boo,” “Omg,” “Yeah!” and more — Usher’s showmanship and the energy of his guests carried the performance, almost making up for the fact that the television mix was sub-par.
In addition to Lil Jon, Ludacris, and Keys, Usher was joined by the likes of H.E.R. — who provided a Prince-esque guitar solo — Jermaine Dupri, will.i.am, and more. Watch clips of the performance below.

It was a family affair for superstar songstress Mariah Carey as she brought her Merry Christmas One and All! tour to the Hollywood Bowl for two sold-out shows on Nov. 17 and 19.
Joining the superstar onstage both nights were her 12-year-old twins (with Nick Cannon), Moroccan and Monroe, or “Roc and Roe,” as the singer put it. Carey’s daughter, Monroe, joined her mom for a duet on a soaring “Jesus Born on This Day,” from Carey’s 1994 holiday album Merry Christmas, with Monroe also fronting a rollicking version of The Waitresses’ “Christmas Wrapping.” Moroccan made a brief appearance for “Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane).” Upbeat versions — complete with all the “zhuzh,” Carey noted — of her Christmas standards started out the set list with cheer.
