Plagued by ill health in the last few months of her life, she was taken
extremely ill to a nearby hospital while on a train to Kent in order to
check herself into a nursing home. Her death was due to an infection
following a burst intestinal abscess.
Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts at age 16 and received
the schools Bancroft Medal for her Lady Teazle in Sheridan's "The
School for Scandal".
Came from a heady family. Her father, Chevalier Carlo Albanesi, was an
Italian musician who tutored royal children; her mother, Maria
Albanesi, was the novelist of 29 books.
Promising Italo-British stage and silent film ingénue (born in London)
who earned strong kudos as a teen but died suddenly at age 24 before
fulfilling her prophecy.
