Exclusive: Lauren Holly and Bruce Boxleitner are the latest actors to join the holiday movie repertory at Great American Family.
The duo will co-star in Aurora Christmas opposite network mainstays Jill Wagner and Jesse Hutch. The movie follows Erin (Wagner), who joins her dad Doug (Boxleitner) for a Christmas in the family’s former hometown of Aurora on a mission that is part business and major bucket list item for Erin to see the Aurora Borealis light up the Northern sky. Realtor Lori (Holly) and family friend and local tour guide Trevor (Hutch) create a Christmas inspired at every turn by faith, love, and hope, so much so that Christmas bells hung over decades in a forest grove ring an unbroken song, a harbinger of miracles to come.

Exclusive: Republic Pictures has snapped up rights to The Image of You, a recently wrapped thriller starring Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars) in dual roles. Pic is set for release via Paramount Global Content Distribution at a date that hasn’t been disclosed.
Parker Young (United States of Al), Nestor Carbonell (The Morning Show), Michele Nordin (Justified) and Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino (Shining Vale) also star in the film from Mpca — an adaptation of the same-name novel from UK-based bestseller Adele Parks MBE, which Jeff Fisher (Killer Movie) directs from a script by Chris Sivertson (Monstrous).
The first project to emerge from a multi-picture deal between Mpca and Parks, The Image of You has Pieterse playing identical twins Anna and Zoe, who share a bond so close that nothing — and no one — can tear them apart. While Anna is romantic and trusting, her sister Zoe is daring and dangerous.

I am a huge fan of Michael Jai White. From his roles opposite Don “The Dragon” Wilson in Ring of Fire and its second sequel Lion Strike, to the first time I watched his starring role as the titular hero in the movie adaptation of Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn, to his directorial debut Never Back Down 2 (a truly under-rated Dtv action movie sequel), I have sat through and thoroughly enjoyed a Lot of White’s movies.
Until now that is.
As I found with this flick, sometimes as a movie reviewer you come across a film that – despite it, on paper, ticking all your filmic checkboxes – really doesn’t click with you. For me, Falcon Rising is one such movie…...

Growing up action movies were, for me, second only to horror flicks as my go to genre. I used to scour the pages of Impact for news on the latest films and then pre-order the VHS at my local video shop – because yes, back in the day you could actually pre-order a video rental and I Always had to be first to rent my most-anticipated flicks! I mention this only because it was back in that era that the action movie star was king. Starting out with the likes of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the VHS era gave birth to a myriad of action movie superstars: guys like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Jeff Speakman, Jeff Wincott and the queen of action films Cynthia Rothrock… all of whom carved out careers in what were – for the most part – direct to video films.
So why the history lesson? Well there’s a...

"If I have learned anything, it's to not get too attached." Netflix has released the official trailer for a cute, cheesy holiday romantic comedy titled Holiday in the Wild - available to watch at the end of this month. Formerly known as Christmas in the Wild, but we all know anything will sell better when you only say "holiday" instead of "Christmas" and don't offend anyone. Right. Kristin Davis plays Kate, a woman who almost cancels her adventurous African honeymoon when her husband splits. Once she has touched down in Africa, however, she gets a second chance at romance with Derek, a pilot caring for rescued elephants. Also starring Rob Lowe, with John Owen Lowe, Colin Moss, Thandi Puren, and Lynita Crofford. This looks like one of those super campy Hallmark romance movies they churn out, but this one is from Netflix. Here's the first trailer (+ poster) for Ernie Barbarash's Holiday in the Wild,...

"I thought it was a nightmare, but..." Shout Factory has debuted an official trailer for a sci-fi action film titled Abduction, which is one of the first team-ups between the legendary Roger Corman and the sort-of-legendary Scott Adkins. This "pulse-pounding thriller pits two strangers against a nefarious alien force, with the future of mankind hanging in the balance." Sounds like the perfect film to pick up in the bargain bin for $0.10. Actor star Scott Adkins plays Quinn, who steps out of a park fountain in Vietnam with no recollection of who he is or where he came from. As he wanders through the city, piecing together clues to his past, he is relentlessly pursued by mysteriously dangerous figures. Co-starring Andy On, Truong Ngoc Anh, Lily Ji, Paul W. He, and Daniel Whyte. Looks pretty terrible, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Ernie Barbarash's Abduction,...

I hear Netflix has given the green light to adventure-romance movie Christmas in the Wild. Sex and the City alumna Kristin Davis is in negotiations and Code Black star Rob Lowe is set to headline the movie, which is scheduled to begin filming in Africa in the next few weeks for a premiere during the 2019 holiday season.
Also cast in the movie, written by Neal Dobrofsky and Tippi Dobrofsky (The Wedding March TV movie franchise) and directed by Ernie Barbarash (A Royal Winter), is Lowe’s son John Owen Lowe.
Said to be in the vein of Eat Pray Love, Christmas in the Wild is set against the backdrop of the elephant poaching and conservation battles in the African wilderness. It centers on a woman (Davis) who, after her longtime husband walks out on her just before a family safari, goes anyway. Arriving in Africa she meets a bush pilot...

Directed by Ernie Barbarash, The Saint is an all-new reboot of the pop culture phenomenon which spanned decades. Staring Adam Rayner (Tyrant) as The Saint, along with Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse TV), and featuring a cameo from the late Sir Roger Moore who starred in the original 1960s TV series, The Saint is a mystery spy thriller for a new generation. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment celebrates the digital release of The Saint on Digital HD/VOD on July 11, 2017.
With a new cast and new plot, The Saint, a modern-day Robin Hood, faces 21st Century challenges. Simon Templar is The Saint, and the stakes are higher than ever. His latest adventure involves $2.5 billion in African aid funds, a persistent FBI agent, and an innocent girl held hostage.

We are big fans of the work of actor Michael Jai White and fight choreographer Larnell Stovall. When the two of them work together? Hoo boy, the results are pretty cool. Their work in Ernie Barbarash's Falcon Rising is such an example. John Falcon Chapman is an ex-marine anti-hero plagued with a terrible secret consuming him with guilt. On the self-destructive edge, he learns his sister has been brutally beaten in the favelas of Brazil and travels there to hunt down her attackers. In the process he discovers an underworld of drugs, prostitution and police corruption ruled by the Japanese mafia.Spirit Entertainment is releasing Falcon Rising on UK DVD (R2) and VOD on May 18th. ...

Chicago – The stylings of author Zane, who has dominated the best seller list and pay cable networks for several years with her steamy and sensually oriented stories, gets to the big screen with the recently released “Addicted.” Actors Boris Kodjoe and Tyson Beckford are part of the ensemble cast.
“Addicted” is the story of Zoe (Sharon Leal), whose life seems perfect with her husband Jason (Boris Kodjoe) and three children. There is something missing from her life, however, and she begins a series of affairs with other men. This leads to an addiction with the thrill of the hunt and capture, and the number of conquests puts her on a dangerous path that could cost Zoe her husband, family and perhaps her life.

Boris Kodjoe is a former college athlete (tennis) who became a model and actor after a back injury sidelined his sports ambition.

With its story of a married woman led astray into an affair by her sex addiction, “Addicted” doesn't fail because it wants to provide steamy, soapy melodrama to a mainstream audience; its faults are a function of its judgment, not of its genre. Adapting the work of the best-selling author Zane (aka Kristina Roberts), director Bille Woodruff (“Honey,” “Beauty Shop”) is trapped by Christina Welsh and Ernie Barbarash's script. The material swings between the sensual and the puritanical with whiplash-inducing speed; the dialogue all too often has the flat, dead sound of a first draft. Also read: ‘Nymphomaniac, Vols.

Action legend Jean Claude Van Damme has signed on to star as the lead role in director’s Ernie Barbarash latest movie “Pound Of Flesh”. They have worked together on two movies already, which are 6 Bullets and Assassination Games and the fight choreography will be done by John Salvitti (Flashpoint, Special ID).
Van Damme will portray a man who rescues a woman in distress one night, only to wake up the next morning in a blood-soaked hotel bathtub without a kidney.
“I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into Pound of Flesh because it’s exactly the kind of character-driven action thriller I and my fans love best — a movie that delivers nonstop hardcore action that’s fueled by a really surprising story and real people you care about from the moment you meet them on screen,” said Van Damme in a statement.

Jean-Claude Van Damme has had a quirky and fun career resurgence. Yeah, he’s found himself in a position to return to somewhat mainstream relevance since 2008′s Jcvd (which is all sorts of fun, and you should watch), and while he’s done so most notably in his role as Jean Vilain in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables 2, and a solid voice acting gig in Kung Fu Panda 2, Van Damme’s heart belongs to indies and direct to DVD actioners. With two new Universal Soldier flicks amongst that list of films, I’d say we should be pretty stoked about the state of his career. Next on the docket is Pound of Flesh, where Jcvd will portray a man who rescues a woman in distress, and wakes the next morning in a blood-filled hotel bathroom, sans kidney for his troubles. According to Van Damme, he’s gonna fight a lot of people over this, saying...

If you’ve seen The Expendables 2, you’ve noticed that Jean-Claude Van Damme was part of that cast that included the biggest action star names in the world, such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham and the legendary Chuck Norris. In the film, Van Damme plays a character named “Jean Vilain” – the lead villain in the film – and this was the fourth time Van Damme played a villain role during his acting career. The kind of actor who can change the skin of the macho man type of roles he usually plays.

It’s been 10 years since the King of Kicking Ass has been in cinemas across the pond, so it’s a welcome return for Jean Claude van Damme in Ernie Barbarash’s ‘Assassination Games’; as the Belgian looks to kick seven shades out of some punk ass Drug Cartels. That’s right…those pesky Drug Cartels are at it again.
Starring alongside Scott Adkins (Bourne Ultimatum, Wolverine) Jcvd is ‘Brazil’, a contract killer with more than a powerful urge to grit his teeth and star angrily into the distance. As he quite simply puts it in the trailer below; “I’m a weapon…I don’t choose where I point it”. So when he must team up with his rival Roland Flint to defeat a dodgy Drug Cartel, you know two things are certain to happen – 1) Stuff is gonna blow up; and 2) People are gonna jump sideways in slow motion with a gun.

I’m not quite sure how Jean-Claude Van Damme is still doing action movies, considering both his advanced age and his relegation to the direct-to-video market. He probably doesn’t care what people think, and the money must be good, so that at least partially explains his continued participation in these things, but it still strikes me as… odd.
The trailer for the next one of these little cinematic treats, called Assassination Games, has shown up at IGN (via FirstShowing). What’s interesting about this is that it’s actually his first action movie to get any sort of theatrical release in the U.S. in over a decade, albeit in a limited one. The well-received Jcvd got some play here in late 2008, but that was an entirely different kind of film.

He's a weapon…. And he shoots where he's pointed!
So says the man Jean-Claude Van Damme in this trailer for "Assassination Games," his newest action thriller killer. Van Damme was last seen -- or heard -- in "Kung Fu Panda 2" as a crocodile, but his more recent films sound like outtakes from his meta-action pic "Jcvd," which tweaked the actor's waning career.
"Universal Soldier: Regeneration" went directly to DVD, and "The Eagle Path," which he wrote and directed, is headed there this October. However, things are looking up for Van Damme, at least when it comes to theatrical distribution.
"Assassination Games," previously known simply as "Weapon," is the first collaboration with Van Damme and director Ernie Barbarash, whose resume includes two episodes of the TV show "Rock the House" and the Cuba Gooding Jr./Val Kilmer vehicle "Hardwired." In "Games," Van Damme stars with muscle-bound martial arts dude Scott Adkins as,...
