As Juanita Dale Phillips she made a statement to the FBI on November
26, 1963 regarding her knowledge of Jack Ruby prior to the John F. Kennedy
assassination and Ruby's subsequent murder of Lee Harvey Oswald.
She rose to prominence as an exotic dancer in Dallas in the late 1950's
in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas reportedly making $2,000 per
week.
Was associated with Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who was accused of
gunning down Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald was charged with assassinating President
John F. Kennedy.
Her career was derailed in 1959 when she was sentenced to 15 years in
prison by a Dallas judge for possessing less than an ounce of
marijuana. She served three years of that time then was
released.
The Colony Club and Jack Ruby's Carousel club were both located on
Commerece Street in downtown Dallas. They were only two doors
apart.
