Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon), Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Escape Plan), Brian Van Holt (Joe vs. Carole), and Nora Zehetner (The Right Stuff) star in the serial killer thriller Boneyard, which is currently filming in Las Vegas. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Asif Akbar (The Commando) is directing the film and crafted the screenplay with Hank Byrd, Vincent E. McDaniel, and Koji Steven Sakai.
Said to be inspired by true events, Boneyard sees Gibson taking on the role of an FBI special agent who, along with the Albuquerque police department, is hunting for a serial killer nicknamed The Bone Collector. The chief of police and one of his officers, however, have a contrary view of the manhunt, believing someone in their own department may be the killer.
It should be noted that, despite the serial killer being called The Bone Collector, this doesn’t have anything to do with the serial killer thriller novel of that title,...

Back in March 2020, the Bob Dylan songbook musical “Girl From the North Country” opened on Broadway on March 5, just one week before theaters shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now more than 19 months later, the show returned to the Belasco Theatre and reopened on Oct. 13.
Even though the musical officially opened last year, it did not run long enough for many of the approximately 800 Tony Awards voters to attend and was therefore deemed ineligible for consideration at this past ceremony. Since it has returned to Broadway, though, “North Country” will compete at the 2022 ceremony, over two years after its original opening date.
Three-time Tony nominee Conor McPherson wrote the libretto and directed this original musical, which uses more than 20 songs from Nobel-laureate Dylan’s catalogue to tell a Depression-era story of a family-run boarding house on the brink of foreclosure, which is set in Duluth, Minnesota, the city of Dylan’s birth.

Exclusive: As we wait for the acquisition titles here at Toronto to get moving, Relativity has scored its second deal for a film not in the festival. Relativity has closed U.S. distribution rights to the Lotus Entertainment thriller Kidnap, which stars Halle Berry and will be directed by Luis Prieto from a script by Knate Gwaltney. Production on the thriller begins this fall. This follows Relativity’s deal on the fest’s opening day for Woman In Black 2, which is in the can.
It’s also the second deal for Lotus and Gold Star Films, the Kidnap financiers. They previously made a pre-fest North American rights deal with Lionsgate on Maggie, the Henry Hobson-directed zombie film that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin, the latter playing the title character who goes through the slow corpsey metamorphosis. Update: The studio has acquired North American rights to the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin zombie film and has pulled it from its Toronto world premiere berth.
Maggie was set to premiere at the festival on September 12, however now the public will have to wait until the early 2015 release.
Neither the film’s North American representatives CAA, Lionsgate itself, international sales agent Lotus Entertainment nor the festival had returned calls at time of writing to explain why the film would no longer premiere in Canada.
However industry insiders said Lionsgate intend to re-cut the film and do not want to present it until it is ready.
Silver Reel And Gold Star Films financed the story of a Midwestern farmer who cares for his daughter after she succumbs to a deadly plague.
Henry Hobson’s feature directorial debut is based on the Black List screenplay by John Scott 3.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger zombie flick Maggie may have found its titular character at last. The one-time Little Miss Sunshine is all grown up and ready to... rot.
THR is reporting that Abigail Breslin (The Call) is in talks to play a young woman who realizes she will slowly join the ranks of the undead.
The film is based on the Black List script by John Scott 3 and is set during a time when a “walking dead” virus has spread across the country. Schwarzenegger, who recently closed a deal to appear in the fifth Terminator, will portray the father on a journey to help his daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a zombie. Chloe Moretz had been in negotiations last year to play the zombie lead but now is not appearing due to scheduling issues.

In the horror genre there are few things we love more than the stupidity of young adults! I mean, why not pick up strange, spooky-looking hitchhikers and drive them to their dilapidated home, where you'll eventually encounter all kinds of nastiness? We love you guys!
According to Variety Jeremy Sumpter, Bret Davern, Elizabeth Diprinzio, Chris Coy, Lindsey Godfrey, Virginia Williams, Jonathan Schaech and Harley Graham are starring in indie horror thriller The Culling, currently shooting in New Orleans.
The Culling centers on a group of five college friends who head out of town for a fun-filled long weekend, but their plans change after finding a 7-year-old girl alone at an empty cafe along the highway and have no choice but to drive her home. When they arrive at her house, it's quickly apparent they will have to stay for the night -- but what's not apparent is the evil nightmare they are about to encounter.
