Members of the Broadway cast of Frozen were in the recording studio today working on the show’s cast recording, which Disney announced will be released later this spring.
Caissie Levy, as Elsa, and Patti Murin, who plays Anna, head the cast. The album is produced by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, Stephen Oremus, Dave Metzger and Chris Montan.
Frozen, which already has a large pit orchestra of 21, will be expanded even further for the cast recording to 44 musicians, including a string section of 22.
Following previous Disney Theatrical adaptations of Aladdin and The Lion King, which continue to draw strong crowds on Broadway, Frozen opened March 22 at the St. James Theatre. Based on the 2013 film, which won Oscars for Best Song (“Let It Go”) as well as Best Animated Feature, the Broadway show has also posted free videos of four of the 12 new songs that were written for the Broadway show.

As anyone who has seen both "Daybreakers" and "Twilight" will tell you, there's a night-and-uhhh... other night difference between their respective treatments of the vampire mythos. You might also expect that each story's hero vampire -- high-schooler Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and scientist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) -- are vastly different. Wrong. Despite the vast differences in tone between the two movies, the two Edwards are actually remarkably similar in some fundamental ways.
Let's delve a little deeper into the similarities, shall we? Readers beware: spoilers lie ahead for both movies. I won't be spoiling any major twists for "Daybreakers" (there are a few), but if you want to remain entirely pure, you'd best wait until after seeing the movie to read this feature.
It's All In The Eyes...
Let's start with the most obvious: Cullen and Dalton both have striking golden eyes. Of course, the golden eyes in "Twilight...

Those complaining about the practically de-fanged, glittery vampires in Twilight may find their bloodsucking saviors in Daybreakers. Of course, the irony is that those same redeemers would immediately drain the blood from the horror fans' bodies, leaving their heads if they're feeling friendly (which they're probably not). These creatures aren’t sweet, conflicted objects of affection for teen girls; they’re violent, heartless monsters who see humans as sources of food, not love interests. Bram Stoker can now rest easy in his grave again.
This sci-fi horror film takes the traditional vampire narrative of inhuman, blood-hungry creatures and adds a futuristic twist. Rather than positioning the undead as the other a la True Blood, Interview with the Vampire, and numerous other vampire tales, Daybreakers is set in a world where the vampires have won. Small groups of humans have survived a plague that turned most of Earth's population into vampires,...
