In early 2024, the cast and crew of Criminal Minds: Evolution have finally begun the active phase of production, and filming has been quietly underway for months. So far, not much is known about the upcoming Season 2, except for the core cast members.
Nevertheless, Paramount never stops teasing us with new updates that, despite their lightheartedness, actually provide a lot of interesting details that fans actively start speculating about. For example, a new set video featuring the cast of Evolution was recently released, and despite its playful tone, the video was surprisingly insightful. It showed us the return of a rather controversial character who is sure to cause a lot of drama at Bau.

The Bau is getting an assist from a Desperate Housewives alum.
TVLine reports that Felicity Huffman has closed a deal to guest star during Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2, and her character has ties to the original series.
Huffman is playing Dr. Jill Gideon, described as “a brilliant biological psychiatrist who winds up helping the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate a murderous conspiracy theory.”
If that surname sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the wife of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), so she has plenty of ties to the team.
Jill isn’t too fond of getting involved with the Bau because of her past, which concludes a “complicated history” with David Rossi (Joe Mantegna).
However, her expertise is needed because the team is struggling to crack open the Gold Star mystery.

Variety reports that the “Desperate Housewives” actress is joining the Season 2 cast of Paramount+’s serialized revival of the long-running CBS crime procedural.
Huffman will guest star as Dr. Jill Gideon. Gideon is described as “a brilliant biological psychiatrist.” She’s the ex-wife of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin), the former leader of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster was looking like a mainstay on the series before her departure in season seven. The actor once set the record straight on the real reason she left the series.

At the time, many were surprised by Brewster’s exit from Criminal Minds. She was brought on board the team during the show’s second season as agent Emily Prentiss. Brewster seemed poised to become as much of a constant presence on the show as Shemar Moore and some of the other co-stars. But she, along with her Criminal Minds co-star A.J. Cook, were let go from the show.
Speaking with Assignment X, Brewster confided that those behind the series simply wanted to shake up the show. They felt reducing Brewster’s role would’ve added some spontaneity, which Brewster felt was a mistake.

Paramount has decided to not move forward with a second season of “Wolf Pack,” Variety has confirmed.
Based on Edo Van Belkom’s book series and created by Jeff Davis, the show follows two teens whose lives are changed when a California wildfire awakens a supernatural creature. Criminal Minds: Evolution fans apparently will be saying goodbye to longtime cast member Josh Stewart. The actor today posted on X (fka Twitter) that “sadly, my days of playing Will Lamontagne Jr. are over,” adding “You guys have been the absolute best.”

We've been clamoring for more Criminal Minds since Criminal Minds Evolution Season 1 left us gasping due to its shocking revelations.
Despite scoring a speedy renewal, the long-running drama that morphed into a streaming series a year ago hasn't yet entered production.
Earlier this year, there was word that filming would begin imminently, so fresh episodes were on the air for fans quickly.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes brought Hollywood to a standstill, meaning no new episodes could be produced.
Recently, both guilds reached deals with the AMPTP to fairly compensate writers and actors for their work, clearing the way for production to get underway.
Paget Brewster took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to a fan to give some updates about the show and it's good news.

Late in the eighth season of “Friends,” Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) comes storming into her old apartment, upset and concerned. Joey (Matt LeBlanc) has just confessed he’s in love with her, she’s told him she doesn’t feel the same way, and now the two are stuck in an awkward cycle of avoidance. Chandler (Matthew Perry), being the only one there, tries to comfort her, but his broad assurances aren’t convincing, and when challenged, all he can muster is a light joke. “I’m not great at the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?”
That line stuck with a lot of people who watched “Friends,” and thus, it stuck with a lot of people. For one, it’s extremely relatable — not knowing what to say when a friend is hurting — but the moment also seemed to define Chandler as a character, and, to some extent,...

Matthew Perry, beloved for his iconic Friends role as Chandler Bing, has left generations of fans devastated following the news of his death at age 54. The actor died Saturday in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home.
The Emmy-nominated actor went on to star in movies like the Whole Nine Yards franchise, Fools Rush In and 17 Again; and on television, The West Wing, The Good Wife, Go On and, most recently, The Odd Couple. But his indelible role as Chandler on the revered NBC sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004, is seared into memory for many. His lines decorate coffee mugs. Many of the sentiments posted online Saturday pointed to Perry as the heart of the humor in “Friends.” As written in a tribute by Variety‘s chief correspondent Daniel D’Addario, “the character’s caustic wit, as performed by a master comic actor, presented as nothing more and nothing less than observational humor about his friends: One degree harsher and it would have tanked the show, one degree softer and it wouldn’t have landed.”
Several also referenced Perry’s struggle with alcoholism and drug addiction, which he discussed publicly throughout his career, especially in his memoir “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.”

In Freeform’s adult animated comedy Praise Petey, New York “It” girl Petey St. Barts (Annie Murphy) becomes a southern cult leader after a father she never knew dies and leaves her his rather complicated legacy.
That includes an entire working town, a throng of comet-obsessed cult members and one hot (and morally superior) redneck named Bandit (John Cho). In desperate need of food and direction until an alien race comes to collect them, Petey’s prophesized arrival seemingly guarantees for the citizens of New Utopia that they will once again have a sense of purpose.
But the former New Yorker with mommy issues and (failed) magazine dreams understandably finds all the human sacrifice and human Shih Tzus (Alfred Molina) a little too much. So instead of merely taking the reins from her father, Petey — alongside Bandit, best friend Eliza (Kiersey Clemons), right-hand Mae Mae (Amy Hill) and old recordings...

Community fans got their wish in 2022 when Peacock ordered a movie follow-up for the comedy series.
Since the announcement, there have been few updates about the project, and, as expected, the project is on hold due to the Writers Guild Strike.
Series star Joel McHale opened up to TV Line while promoting Crime Scene Kitchen.
"That was a bummer, because we were getting very close," he told the outlet.
"But at the same time, I'm a thousand billion percent behind the writers. The writers need to be paid."
The actor confirmed the project is on hold but will still happen when the time is right.
"When this strike is over, we'll come back and we'll make it."
"And I am sure that [series creator] Dan [Harmon] will put in 12 jokes addressing the fact it took [this long to come together]," McHale said.
"But we'll get there. It just may take a little while."

In the Hulu comedy’s return, Sophie asks her mom Lori (Paget Brewster), to share everything she can remember about her dad. “I met him at Lollapalooza, he lolla’ed my palooza, and bam, here you are!” Lori tells her. When Sophie shows her a photo from that day, Lori does remember he had a barbed wire tattoo around his bicep. Sophie also spots a badge that reveals he was working at the festival, and his name ends with “ick.” Thanks to a deep dive on LinkedIn and a little blackmail, Val (Francia Raisa) helps Sophie narrow it down to three men, and the group splits up to track...

One of the long-running gags in the college comedy series "Community" was that it would get six seasons and a movie, and allegedly the Human Beings are finally getting that movie. While many of the cast have been confirmed to appear in the film, it still hasn't begun shooting and other cast members from the series have yet to announce their involvement. There's been a lot of back-and-forth on whether or not Donald Glover will return as the football-playing himbo Troy, for example, and there's no word on Yvette Nicole Brown returning as Christian homemaker Shirley. But what about Elroy, the virtual reality inventor and head of Greendale Community College's I.T. Department, played by Keith David? The character was introduced in the Yahoo!-backed season 6, which was doomed to fail from a marketing standpoint, but he was one of the best parts of the season. Keith David automatically improves everything he touches,...
