- A British writer and editor who often published under the names Jonathan Burke and Robert Miall (but on one occasion used the name Joanna Jones), he became active in science fiction fandom in the 1930s, and went on to edit horror anthologies and to novelize film and television productions. He wrote the novelizations, for example, of Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) and Moon Zero Two (1969). His first novel, published under the name of J. F. Burke, was 1949's Swift Summer.
