To many Buffy, the Vampire Slayer fans, season 6 was a letdown. After Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) sacrificed herself to defeat Glory at the end of season 5, her return left some fans wanting. The show also moved from The WB to Upn for season 6 and 7, but even decades later, fans still criticize season 6.

They’re wrong. Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Season 6 actually rules and here are four reasons why.
‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’ Season 6 villains are as relevant as ever
Season 6 saw Buffy, the vampire slayer go up against the Trio. Warren (Adam Busch), Jonathan (Danny Strong), and Andrew (Tom Lenk) had all appeared in previous seasons of the show. At the beginning of season 6, they decide to take over Sunnydale. The joke was that they were incompetent nerds dabbling in magic, but that made them dangerous.

“Hypochondriac” informs viewers right away that it is “based on a real breakdown,” which certainly provides a new wrinkle on the now-wildly-overused “true story” proviso. Nonetheless, clarity of hindsight is not a major virtue in this adventurous first feature by writer-director Addison Heimann.
The offbeat indie drama features Zach Villa as a Los Angelean whose troubled past threatens to unravel his domestic partnership and his very sanity. The combination of gay protagonists, mental illness exploration, horror tropes, and surreal elements that gesture toward “Donnie Darko” make for an ambitious mix that holds attention, even if the uneven, somewhat muddled results are ultimately more effortful than insightful.
Following a festival tour that includes a midnight berth at SXSW and fitting slot in genre-focused Fantasia, XYZ Films will open the film in limited release on July 29, with digital and VOD release following Aug. 4.

When you think about the tail end of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" season 6, what comes to mind? If you're anything like me, it might take a minute for it to come back to you, because the series' most controversial ending is in some ways better off forgotten.
The exceedingly dark season enters its home stretch with "Seeing Red," a gutting episode that sees Willow's (Alyson Hannigan) girlfriend, all-around sweetie Tara (Amber Benson), killed by violent misogynist Warren's (Adam Busch) stray bullet. It's also the episode in which villain-turned-love-interest Spike (James Marsters) inexplicably and infuriatingly attempts to rape Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar). In...

After her efforts to flip her home state blue for the 2020 presidential election paid off last week, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams turned her attention to flipping a different group: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fans who think that Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Buffy Summers belonged with Angel (David Boreanaz), not Spike (James Marsters). And it looks like she at least got the votes of the “Buffy” cast and creator Joss Whedon himself.
“To be fair, Angel was the right boyfriend for Buffy coming into her power. Spike was the right man to be with as she became the power,” Abrams tweeted Monday, after being labeled a Spike shipper by one Twitter user.
That hot take didn’t go over well with everyone on Twitter, but it did get heavily endorse by Whedon and co. over the last few days.
“I Agree! (during squee),” the “Buffy” creator tweeted.
“I’ll vote yes to that!

An impromptu evalutaion, crime scene bioremedition and two guest stars from two of my all time favorite shows descended upon The Rookie Season 2 Episode 8.
Nyla Harper's early review, although entertaining, took up far less screen time and created less drama than I expected.
However, watching Harper talk down the half-naked man wielding the nail bat against unseen zombies was definitely a plus.
Although it did make me wonder if having him and the woman being held for possible a DUI in the back of the same patrol car was a good idea?
If the guy decided she was some sort of a zombie then things could have gotten ugly, even while he was wearing cuffs.
Of course, keeping them separated would have made it more difficult for the pair to comment on Grey's daughter who wanted to go to college on the east coast, something to which her father was very much opposed.

And now we finally get to the best one of all. The true peak of Buffy. The Season where it truly was at its finest hour.
After a shaky Season Four, Buffy returned in style for its fifth season, constructing 22 episodes full of strong characters, a brilliant arc, heartbreaking moments and some of the best hours that the show ever produced. Whilst all the previous Seasons of Buffy had numerous good qualities, it’s fifth just seemed to have everything. From the intense, gripping story-arc of Season Two, to the consistently brilliant episodes of Season Three, to the superb stand-alone hours of Season Four, Season Five is an example of a show at full throttle. It’s brimming with confidence, it knows exactly where it’s taking the story – and explores new routes for our characters that we didn’t even think we’d see.
So, what makes Season Five so great?...

So here’s the thing: being an adult kind of sucks. We spend so much of our childhoods yearning for responsibility and the freedom that being of a certain age brings, but most of us probably failed to appreciate just how good we had it as carefree kids. And now, we are expected to transform ourselves into responsible grown-ups who have to spend the rest of our days worrying about bills, jobs, or even living up to the expectations of our significant others or other loved ones.
And those are the predicaments faced by the titular protagonist in Dave Made a Maze: do you settle for the life everyone else expects you to lead, or do you dare to follow the unbeaten path (which, in Bill Watterson’s delightful comedy, leads directly into a magical labyrinth within the confines of a box fort) in hopes of achieving a sense...

Chicago – When the magnificently creative film “Dave Made a Maze” begins, it seems like another Millennial generation stab at micro budget filmmaking, with a claustrophobic set and extreme archetypes instead of characters. But then the “exploration” of the title maze starts, and suddenly “Dave” becomes a marvel of invention, tribute, hilarity and even truth.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
A passionate group of filmmakers got together with a strange idea… what if they were to send this group of archetypes into a cardboard fort that a frustrated artist has built, a group that includes his offbeat lover? And what if once inside that maze, the magic begins, as rooms become expansive and tests the will of the search party, transporting them into fantasies of their favorite adventure films from the last 40 years. Oh yeah, and there has to be a film-within-a-film that a hapless documentary crew is trying to make. Does this sound like...

The premise is silly: stunted artist who’s never finished a project in his life finds inspiration through cardboard boxes and their ability to be molded into a literal labyrinth he’s already erected virtually inside his mind to ensure he will never fail (or succeed) since such a final verdict only comes with completion. So bogged down in existential dread—and made to endure it while girlfriend Annie (Meera Rohit Kumbhani) is out-of-town for a much-needed reprieve from his slacker-infused excuses—Dave (Nick Thune) allows its weight to force him into an abyss of despair he cannot escape alone. The only avenue towards freedom is ultimately found by going farther inward. Dave must finish something, everything … anything. He must commit to the work, to Annie, and to himself.
While that all sounds like some crazy on-the-nose metaphor performed through imaginative dream, you’re only going to find yourself half right.

When Daily Dead contributor Ben Larned saw it at the Boston Underground Film Festival, he called Dave Made a Maze a "playful, darkly inventive look into the creative mind" in his review, and Gravitas Ventures' official trailer for the film certainly highlights its humor and the strangely unsettling vibe ahead of its August release.
Synopsis: "An unaccomplished and frustrated artist builds a cardboard box fort in his living room and winds up trapped with a gang of oddball explorers in a fantasy world of his own creation, threatened by booby traps and a bloodthirsty Minotaur."
Directed by Bill Watterson, Dave Made a Maze stars Nick Thune, Meera Rohit Kumbhani, James Urbaniak, John Morrison, Kirsten Vangsness, Stephanie Allynne, and Adam Busch. Gravitas Ventures will release the movie in select theaters on August 18th.

Chicago – Truly unique and creative micro-budget films are as rare as a sighting of Bigfoot these days, as so many people are picking up a camera to give it try. The production of “Dave Made a Maze” is a happy exception, a film that delivers the thrills and at the same time makes fun of them. Throw in hipsters-in-peril and homages to 1980s adventure films, and it’s easy to find the way through this fun movie.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including The Walking Dead, Jane the Virgin, Nashville and Scandal!

Oh hey, Warren Mears. Nice to see you with skin! We may have audibly guffawed when Adam Busch showed up on tonight's Empire as the photographer tasked with creating a Rolling Stone cover for Jamal (Jussie Smollett). He just...did not look like what we remember Warren looking like before Willow (Alyson Hannigan) skinned him alive on Buffy the Vampire Slayer all those years ago. Might we suggest a haircut? And a shower? Adam's appearance on tonight's episode was extra special because the episode was written by Danny Strong, who accompanied Adam and Tom Lenk as part of the group of nerds who wreaked havoc all over Sunnydale, a.k.a. The Trio, making tonight a fun little...

Will Season 2 of Empire feature a cover of Animotion’s “Obsession“? (Don’t pretend like that wouldn’t be the best thing ever.)
Men at Work‘s Adam Busch has been cast in a recurring role for Season 2, and it sounds like his character may encounter some blurred lines between his professional duties and his personal predilections.

According to our sister site Deadline, Busch will play “Chase One, a sexy, gifted, avant-garde gay artist who’s doing a photo shoot, and is infatuated with his male star.”

The guys at the Full Steam magazine have been laid off. TBS has cancelled the Men at Work sitcom after three seasons.
Men at Work revolves around a group of four adult male friends who work together and help one other navigate through the pitfalls of relationships. The cast includes Adam Busch, Danny Masterson, James Lesure, Michael Cassidy, and Meredith Hagner.
The sitcom performed well for TBS when it debuted in 2012 but the ratings dropped over the course of the three seasons. The season (now series) finale, which aired in March, drew less than a million viewers.
Masterson broke the news via Twitter, writing, "Hey everyone great news!! @tbsveryfunny has decided to cancel @MenatWorkTBS. I guess we were too funny? Or maybe not funny enough. Kisses."

"Men at Work" wrapped up its third season with a two-part, hour-long finale on Wednesday (March 12) and with it came many changes.
Tyler (Michael Cassidy) and Jude entered into a secret relationship, Neal (Adam Busch) found himself a new apartment, hurting Gibbs (James Lesure) along the way, and Milo (Danny Masterson) continued to feel left out -- wait, is this still a comedy?
Well, with the hour-long hilarity out of the way and Season 3 wrapped, the question stands: Does the show deserve a Season 4? Are their more hijinks left to be mined from this funny foursome? Or is it time for "Men at Work" to retire?
Make your voice heard in our poll below and sound off further in the comments!

In Wednesday's (Feb. 12) episode of "Men at Work," Milo (Danny Masterson) meets with a book publisher played by the stunning Jane Seymour. Naturally, someone winds up naked.
In a preview for the episode, entitled "Gigo-Milo," Seymour's spotted in her bra and panties, so chances are that play on "gigolo" in the title is a pretty good hint at just what lengths Milo will go go to for a publishing deal.
Seymour's not the only high-profile guest, though. Comedy legend Ed Asner also stops by as an intern hired by Neal (Adam Busch). That ought to go well.
Check out the preview above. "Men at Work" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Et/Pt on TBS.

Friends or more than friends? (l-r: James Lesure, Danny Masterson, Michael Cassidy, Steve Brand)

The TBS sitcom Men At Work isn’t necessarily the gayest of sitcoms out there, but the show about four male friends dealing with life and love while working together at a magazine called “Full Steam” (which, hello, sounds pretty gay to me) features a storyline in tonight’s episode that shows how far we’ve come from the ‘special gay episode’ that was once a staple in sitcoms.
In tonight’s episode, Tyler (played by Michael Cassidy) has a new friend who his buddies/co-workers – Milo (Danny Masterson), Neal (Adam Busch) and Gibbs (James Lesure) – suspect may want more from Tyler than he realizes. However, instead of making the David Bennett character (played by Steve Brand) a predator, the guys, who all happen to be straight, blame Tyler for leading the guy on,...

If the definition of Hollywood success is a giant house in the Malibu Hills, a Bentley, two Oscars, an Emmy and three stints in rehab, then Adam Busch has a long, long way to go.
But if another definition of Hollywood success is doing fun sitcoms with cool people -- whether in TBS' "Men at Work," or "MyMusic" on the Web -- then the actor and singer in the indie-folk/rock band Common Rotation is on top of the world.
On Aug. 20, TBS announced the renewal of "Men at Work" for a third season, slated to air in early 2014. Busch plays ad salesman Neal, the only one with a steady girlfriend (Meredith Hagner) out of four buddies (with Danny Masterson, James Lesure and Michael Cassidy) who work on the staff of a magazine in New York City.

Top Streamy nominee MyMusic is back. The musical sitcom, created by Benny and Rafi Fine, has returned for its second season, with old favorites joined by new cast members and an expanded transmedia empire. The basic gist of the series is unchanged: Indie (Adam Busch) and Idol (Grace Helbig) run a studio staffed by human incarnations of specific musical genres. For season 2, The Fine Bros have added Country, played by SourceFed's Lee Newton, to the main cast. She is introduced as Idol's cousin and will purposefully get on viewers' nerves very quickly. The one main cast member who seems to have a much larger role is the only one not named after a genre: Jack Douglass Intern 2, who is starting to seem like the show's breakout character. MyMusic already had a ton of transmedia elements, including a music blog and Twitter feeds for every single character. In addition to all of those peripheral features,...

More than six months after it aired its last episode, MyMusic has resurfaced. The Fine Bros have released a trailer for the musical sitcom's second season, which will return old favorites while also enlisting the talents of several new cast members. Benny and Rafi Fine announced the second season back in May after a successful initial run that included 34 episodes. Altogether, the MyMusic channel has amassed nearly 400,000 subscribers and close to 30 million views before even factoring in the added engagement provided by the show's many, many transmedia elements. So what's in store for season two? In general, the trailer suggest that MyMusic's general tone will be the same, with broad caricatures serving as parodies of common music genres. Adam Busch's Indie and Grace Helbig's Idol will continue in their leading roles, and there seems to be a much bigger role for Jack Douglass' much-abused Intern 2 this time around.
