The upcoming February 7th release of Nurse 3D has everyone buzzing, and why not? With Paz de la Huerta and Katrina Bowden heating up the screen, how can you go wrong? To celebrate, we bring you Five Beautifully Broken Nurses.
Now, of course you have the standard fare, the all-star psycho nurses like Annie Wilkes in Misery, Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, everyone's favorite nurse to hang around with in Halloween II, and that beastly bunch of corpse-like caregivers from Silent Hill. But we thought we'd go a bit off the beaten path on this one.
First, some honorable mentions. We're going to categorize these nurses as NILFs, but we've got two different types of NILFs. We've got the traditional "Nurses I'd Like to... Fornicate" (with, haha!) and "Nurses I'd Like to Forget" for the really disturbing ones.
Who could forget that Victor Crowley's mother was...

Pittsburgh, Pa has ten days before all hell breaks loose. That's because from September 18th through the 20th at the Crowne Plaza, those fine folks that put on ZombieFest have broadened their horizons into a new convention, now called "Horror Realm."
The convention will feature the usual fare of guests and vendors, but this one also has an emphasis on horror authors and artists with sponsors such as Library of the Living Dead and Permuted Press, Rue Morgue magazine, and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. The con also features horror author panels and a zombie film festival, as well as contests ranging from jello brain eating, scariest tattoo, hockey mask art, horror trivia, and costumes. There will also be demonstrations by the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and a flash fiction contest sponsored by Permuted Press, as well as a live production of Pittsburgh's hosted horror program It's Alive. Of course,...

When you go to many various conventions, you start to see a lot of the same smiling faces over and over again. As a result you become a road family of sorts. Clayton Hill had a smile I'll never forget, and it's with a very heavy heart that we report he is no longer with us.
Clayton broke into showbiz around the age of six and has been working within it ever since, whether behind or in front of the camera. Fans will best remember him as the "Sweater Zombie" in George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead.
Clayton died last night, July 25th, in Pittsburgh, Pa, following a stroke. We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to remember him as the consummate professional that he was and to offer our sincerest condolences to his many friends, family, and constituents, especially his partner in life and love,...

Well folks, the 2008 ZombieFest (official site) has just announced their first round of guests, and it's a good announcement. The first round includes original Dawn of the Dead zombies Sharon Ceccatti Hill (the Nurse Zombie) and Clayton Hill (the Sweater Zombie). Also onhand will be Sam Nicotero, whose films include Children of the Living Dead and The Mothman Prophecies. Also announced is Bram Stoker Award-winning author Mike Arnzen. But that's not all. The big news is that the original Bmf, the greatest zombie killer in the world, will also be in attendance at the mall where he first encountered the living dead. That's right, I'm talking about Ken-Motherfucking-Foree.
Zombiefest is a free event this year, running from October 24th to October 26th inside the zombie-historic Monroeville Mall, and will coincide with "World Zombie Day," for which more than fifty cities worldwide have coordinated a zombie walk Sunday morning in an...
