- President Society of Operating Cameramen (SOC) 1985-1989
- Father of film hair stylist, Janis Clark
- One of the seven original founding fathers of the Society of Operating Cameramen, (SOC).
- According to his grandson, William Clark served in WWII, and he was also a camera operator for Grease 2, setting up the Bowling Pin's POV from the beginning of the 'Score Tonight' scene.
- Son of actor Wallis Clark.
- He has served on the executive board of Local 659, International Photographers Guild, for twenty years, as well as being a member of the Board of Governors of the SOC since its inception.
- Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
- World War II he enlisted in the US Marines Corps. He was on Midway Island when the war started and on Okinawa when it ended. In between there was Guadalcanal, The Marshalls and lwo Jima. By the time he was discharged from the Corps , he had put in eleven years and had a Silver Star, a Purple Heart and two silver crews with a silver plate in his left leg caused by an exploding hand grenade.
