Emmerdale actors Tony Audenshaw and Lesley Dunlop found themselves winning the public vote on tonight’s Born To Shine.
The pair performed a jive to Christina Aguilera’s ‘Candy Man’ just minutes before the voting lines were opened and at the end of the ITV entertainment show, presenter Natasha Kaplinsky revealed that they were the public’s favourites and would be joining Nick Moran in the final next month.
Tony and Lesley triumphed over TV presenter Dawn Porter, who sang Etta James’ ‘At Last’ earlier in the evening and This Morning star Ruth Langsford, who tried her hand at drumming.
They were mentored by Junior British and European Champions of Ballroom, 13 year old Hannah Cresswell and 15 year old Luke Miller for the month leading up to their performance and after they showcased their moves, normally nasty Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner raved:

Junior British and European Champions of Ballroom 13 year old Hannah Cresswell and 15 year old Luke Miller performed on Born To Shine this evening.
The young duo – who have been partners for the last four years – took to the stage on the ITV entertainment show and displayed their immense dance skills as they jived to Alexandra Burke’s Broken Heels.
However, they weren’t just invited on the show to wow the audience with their own brilliance, the young pair were also there to cheer on Emmerdale stars Tony Audenshaw and Lesley Dunlop, who they have been teaching and mentoring for the last month.
