Though our younger viewers may know her better for her friendship with Kim Kardashian, the spotlight shone brightly on Paris Hilton, especially in the early 2000s. But was she just “famous for being famous”, or is there more to this Paparazzi Princess?
Like her friend Kim, Paris Hilton’s fame was bolstered by the infamy that comes from being the star of a wildly popular
sex tape, 2004’s cleverly-titled 1 Night in Paris. “That’s Hot.” As with Kim Kardashian, questions remain even decades later about whether the video was released intentionally to capitalize on her growing fame. For her part, Paris has since denied consenting to the video’s release and has settled out-of-court for the damage to her image and reputation. Perhaps the grossest thing about the video (bear with me) is that it opens with a title card that says “In memory of 9/11/01… We will never forget.” Seriously.

It looked like a typical U2 outdoor concert: Two helicopters zoomed through the starlit sky before producing spotlights over a Las Vegas desert and frontman Bono, who kneeled to the ground while singing the band’s 2004 hit “Vertigo”.
This scene may seem customary, but the visuals were created by floor-to-ceiling graphics inside the immersive Sphere. It was one of the several impressive moments during U2’s “Uv Achtung Baby” residency launch show at the high-tech, globe-shaped venue, which opened for the first time Friday night.
The legendary rock band, which has won 22 Grammys, performed for two hours inside the massive, state-of-the-art spherical venue with crystal-clear audio. Throughout the night, there were a plethora of attractive visuals — including kaleidoscope images, a burning flag and Las Vegas’ skyline, taking the more than 18,000 attendees on U2’s epic musical journey.

As fall creeps closer, major studios have to plan out their next steps if writers and actors continue to strike. At this point it’s already impossible for the fall production schedule to move forward normally, even if the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went back to work today.
Some outlets, like Paramount Global have already announced they’ll use reruns of streaming and older network shows to fill in programming gaps this fall. New data from Civic Science is showing that viewers could respond to such tactics, at least initially.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya dives deep into how insecurities prevented him from being a present father to his daughter Atiana when she was young.
“I basically ran away. I was scared. I was fearful,” he admitted on the “Allison Interviews” podcast. Ultimately, his absence left Atiana to be raised by her mother, Shanna Moakler and stepfather, Travis Barker, whom Moakler was married to from 2004 to 2008.
“I did try to be a father full-time for a few years, and it was beautiful,” he clarified before explaining how deep feelings of unworthiness led to distancing himself from Atiana. “It was amazing to raise a little girl, but there came a point where it’s like, you ask yourself, ‘Wait a minute, you’re not worthy of this.'”
De La Hoya, 50, believes that the lack of love he received from his parents as a child impacted his decision to remove himself from Atiana’s life.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's lavish 2022 wedding in Positano, Italy was definitely a family affair. Still, fans are curious about where Kardashian's son, Mason Disick, was after he didn't appear in his mom's Hulu special, "Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis," which premiered on April 13.
Some of Kardashian and Travis's other kids make appearances in the special, however - including Kardashian's 10-year-old daughter Penelope and 8-year-old son Reign, as well as Travis's 24-year-old stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya, his 19-year-old son Landon, and his 17-year-old daughter Alabama. Fortunately, for anyone concerned about Mason's whereabouts, paparazzi photos caught the 13-year-old decked out in a pink suit during the wedding festivities. Some of his mom's Instagram posts from the wedding also feature him.
Still, it sounds like Mason truly prefers to remain anonymous, which may explain his absence from the special. "He does not like it. He doesn't want any part of it.

Shannah Moakler poses for a close-up. Pic credit: @shannamoakler/Instagram
Shanna Moakler made sure she turned heads last weekend, and she did it in the tiniest of bikinis.
The ex of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker continues to make headlines as her former flame enjoys married life with reality star Kourtney Kardashian.
Posting on her Instagram Stories, Shanna shared a sizzling poolside shot as she drew attention to her fit and curvy figure. She also picked a very skimpy swimwear look.
The photo showed the blonde close up in sunlight, backed by an outdoor swimming pool and lush greenery.
Looking like a total bombshell, the 47-year-old looked far younger than her years as she afforded a slight Pamela Anderson vibe.
Showing off in a wet and burgundy red bikini, Shanna highlighted her figure while soaking up the last of the summer rays, also offering no caption or geotag.
She posed wearing light makeup,...

This review originally ran in conjunction with the world premiere of “Dos Estaciones” at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Globalization can easily obscure the fact that a beautiful place with a rich history, hardworking people and a precious resource is as much someone’s home as it is an outsider’s opportunity.
What Mexican filmmaker Juan Pablo González would like viewers to think about after seeing his melancholically picturesque “Dos Estaciones” is that the next time you bolt down some multinational conglomerate’s new celebrity-marketed, substandard tequila, there’s a local — like González’ factory-owning protagonist — in an ever-deepening despondency about the slipping away of a long-cherished culture.
This is González’s first narrative feature after establishing his meditative style in a handful of documentaries (including “Caballerango”), and it’s a hybrid of story, regional verisimilitude and personal knowledge. (The director comes from a family of tequila makers.) But while “Dos Estaciones...
