Emma Stone and Emma Thompson collaborated not too long ago for the hit Disney film Cruella. The pair famously played rival fashion designers, with Stone portraying the titular villain. But Thompson quipped that her character’s jealousy of Cruella Deville might’ve mirrored her own envy of Stone.
What Emma Thompson thought about working with Emma Stone Emma Thompson | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Thompson and Stone both had more than a good time doing Cruella. The feature saw Thompson’s ambitious fashion designer, Baroness von Hellman, taking Stone’s Cruella under her wing. The two characters would soon engage in a heated rivalry, both trying to come out on top in the fashion world.
Because of their fierce competition, Thompson’s Baroness spent much of the film being cruel to Stone. But Thompson asserted there were no hard feelings had between the actual actors. Thompson even had a good time playing nasty for a change.

Winnie Harlow is reclaiming her power this Halloween. On Oct. 31, the model dressed as Cruella de Vil from Disney's classic "101 Dalmatians" movie. From the dual-tone bouffant to her wickedly sharp eyeliner, Harlow nailed the villainous look. This year, however, the black-and-white ensemble was more than just a nostalgic pop culture costume. On Instagram, Harlow revealed her costume choice was inspired by her childhood bullies, who often teased her about her vitiligo, a skin condition that affects the melanin in certain areas of the skin.
"This Halloween is really dedicated to little Winnie."
"Growing up I got teased a lot for my skin," Harlow said. "I got called everything you already know.. and Dalmatian. That really got to me when I was little. So much so that I realized I had a bit of disdain for the film as a child." Though Harlow disliked...

In the article series Sound and Vision we take a look at music videos from notable directors. This week we take a look at Kid Cudi's No One Believes Me, directed by Craig Gillespie. The films of Craig Gillespie, whose new film Dumb Money recently released in cinemas, can be best described as pop art confections of class struggle. The idea of the haves and have nots battling it out has been ever present in his work, even if it presents as light and fluffy at first glance. Why did Tonya Harding in I, Tonya do what she did? What makes Cruella DeVille tick, if not for being one of the have nots, trying to make it big? The American Dream (or in the...

Twitter users had a field day after Congressman Matt Gaetz’s wife Ginger shared a photo to Instagram of them dressed up in pink for the “Barbie” movie on Tuesday.
“This Barbie has a ‘Legal issues’ section on Wikipedia,” tweeted Kat Tenbarge, riffing on the allegations that Gatez was part of a scheme that involved the sex trafficking of a 17-year-old girl.
Another Twitter user joked, “Weird, I though Matt Gaetz was prohibited from being within 1,000 feet of anywhere minors are…” In a similar vein, @Potzer604 wrote, “Matt Gaetz went to the Barbie premier[e] hoping to see Skipper [her younger sister].”

The “Gutfeld!” gang held a Disney-themed party – if sustained dunking on recent poor box office performance qualifies as a party.
The Fox News late-night show devoted Tuesday’s opener to trashing recent Marvel, Walt Disney Studios and Pixar films that underperformed in movie theaters, suggesting their progressive narratives and characters were hurting business. To make his point, host Greg Gutfeld referenced a Breitbart article titled “Box Office Analyst Estimates Disney Lost $890 Million on Last Eight Theatrical Releases,” which is based solely on a post by “prominent YouTuber” Valliant Renegade.
“It’s gotten so bad, Cruella DeVille is selling dogs at Chipotle. Pocahontas had to open a casino. And Peter Pan had to cancel his gender-affirmation surgery,” Gutfeld cracked, drawing an iffy response from the studio audience – a nightly occurrence on the Fox show that pushes past the boundaries of crass, juvenile humor by design.
“What does this say about Disney?...

The opening of Blumhouse’s latest film, Unseen introduces us to a pair of women. There’s Sam who we see catching a buzz before she starts her shift at a gas station convenience store. And with a boss like Isaac that’s probably the only way to get through a shift without throat-punching him.
Elsewhere, Emily is waking up bound and without her glasses. She’s been kidnapped by her psychotic ex Charlie who has decided the only way he can move on is to kill her.
The two of them have nothing in common, but that’s about to change as a desperate Emily accidentally dials Sam’s number as she tries to escape. Using the phone’s video Sam becomes her eyes, trying to...

Descendants 3 dropped in August 2019, and we loved it!
We laughed, we cried, but most of all, we were shocked about some plot twists!
Here's some of the most unexpected moments of the third and final Descendants movie.
Our article is dedicated in loving memory to Cameron Boyce, who played Carlos.
Hades is Mal's Father
One of the first Descendants 3 Teasers had fans wondering about who Mal's father was; a mysterious voice was calling her name from a blue light. A heist to steal Hades' ember with Celia, Dr. Facilier's daughter, reveals the truth.
The ember will work for Mal, but it won't do everything for her that it does for him. If she gets it wet, it's game over.
Descendants Director Kenny Ortega Pays Tribute to the Late Cameron Boyce
Audrey is Beckoned by Maleficent's Scepter
A twist of cruel irony, the granddaughter of Aurora got called to the dark side by Maleficent's scepter.

I don’t know about you guys, but the summer of 2019 has already given us numerous truly great genre offerings already, which might make the following statement hard to believe. But, dear readers, the best is yet to come. This week, Ready or Not is set to hit theaters everywhere. It is not only one of my favorite films of the entire year, but it’s a wickedly fun and darkly comedic game of cat and mouse that subverts expectations at every turn, and once again proves that Samara Weaving is (and pardon my French) The Shit and should be in everything.
Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Ready or Not introduces us to Grace (Weaving) and Alex Le Domas (Mark O’Brien) who are about to get married at the palatial estate of Alex’s eccentric family who have made a name for themselves and built their fortune...

It may be “the most wonderful time of the year,” as the song goes, but let’s face it, not all things Christmas are created equal. There are the tree ornaments you cherish, and others that can fill space in the back. There are movies that become classics, like “Miracle on 34th Street” or “Elf,” and those which seem to have been created as holiday time-fillers — harmless if charmless mediocrities parents can use to distract the kids for a couple of hours while they get some Christmas shopping done in peace.
Such is the generic ilk of “Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer,” a Canadian toon whose animation isn’t the only thing that seems to have been handled by computer. A would-be new “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” it’s energetic and polished enough to avoid feeling like a rip-off — “Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny,” this is not — but there the compliments pretty much end.

Like a heroine tumbling through the rabbit hole, Disney took its own great fall this past weekend, as prospective tentpole Alice Through the Looking Glass coughed up a meager $34 million at the box-office in its opening days of release. A paltry sum in comparison to the $116 million opening weekend that Tim Burton's 2010 original "dark" fairy tale garnered, this sequel's poor showing registered as a sizable blip in Disney's ledgers. Floppier than the average flop, Disney's new folly provided industry competitors and common filmgoers several valuable lessons about how movies are made and sold.

Disney and Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book continues to do big business at the international box office, having recently sailed past $500 million worldwide. That’s something that hasn’t gone unnoticed at the House of Mouse, and we learned only a fortnight ago that Disney had laid the groundwork for a direct sequel.
Yes, Favreau himself may have cooled talks that a follow-up was in the works, but today brings word that the studio has already nailed down release dates for Jungle Book 2 and a handful of other in-development fairytale movies. First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the likes of July 28, 2017, April 6, 2018, Aug. 3, 2018, Dec. 25, 2018 and Dec. 20, 2019 have all been claimed by Disney, though there’s no word yet on what specific film will tumble in to each vacant slot.

New York (AP) -- The Walt Disney Co.'s "The Jungle Book" opened with $103.6 million in North America, making it one of the biggest April debuts ever at the box office and continuing the studio's streak of unearthing live-action riches buried in its animated classics.
Jon Favreau's update of Disney's 1967 animated version of Rudyard Kipling's book tells the tale of Mowgli with computer-generated imagery and big-screen bombast. A sizable 42 percent of the film's domestic sales came from 3-D and premium-format screens.
"The Jungle Book" is just the latest of Disney's string of live-action remakes of classic cartoons ("Cinderella," ''Alice in Wonderland," ''Maleficent"), most of which have fared well at the box office. More plundering of the Disney library is in the works: "Cruella De Ville" and "Peter Pan" are in development; "Beauty and the Beast" is scheduled for next March.

Joining Beauty and the Beast, the Tim Burton-directed Dumbo, and Cruella De Ville in Disney’s pantheon of old-school classics poised for the live-action treatment, Deadline brings word that the House of Mouse is circling back to Neverland for a new take on the Peter Pan tale of old.
The company is ushering said project into pre-production quite quickly, too, with David Lowery and Toby Halbrooks already attached to direct and write. Currently placing the final touches to the summer release of Pete’s Dragon, a modern reimagining of the studio’s 1977 musical, Lowery and Halbrooks are perhaps the perfect fit to steer J.M. Barrie’s enduring classic into Disney’s expanding live-action division.
Throughout the years, Barrie’s yarn of the boy who would never grow old has been brought to life through a variety of creative outlets, including Steven Spielberg’s Hook to Pan, Warner Bros. and...

When characters from children’s television shows are translated onto the silver screen sometimes the results aren’t exactly positive. Paddington is one of the movies where I would admit I was cynical and didn’t expect much, especially because of the age of the actual show. Then a little magical viral madness took over and the spectacle of the “Scary Paddington” took over and it was perfect to get the bear noticed, showing how awesome the internet can be. The fact is even without the crazy internet people, Paddington turned into something surprising and very charming.

This week's Once Upon A Time is a Snow Queen special. Here's Kylie's review of Shattered Sight...
This review contains spoilers.
4.10 Shattered Sight
The Snow Queen’s storyline comes to a close in an episode that is part fresh and entertaining, part groan-worthy.
First, the good. The Snow Queen’s curse causes the people of Storybrooke to see the worst in each other, and that brings out secrets, humorous resentments, and best of all, the Evil Queen. Snow, Charming, and Regina dredge up old quarrels and exchange a whole lot of sassy barbs (Kristoff gets in on the action a bit, too). Pair that with an epic Snow/Regina swordfight, and the three of them steal the show this week.
My biggest complaint about the curse is that it doesn’t last longer. I would have liked to see more characters interact under its influence. Also, they downplay the things...

Did you know the Osmonds were discovered by Walt Disney? No? Well, that's part of the explanation for why Donny Osmond is guest judging tonight's episode of "Dancing with the Stars." Oh, and he was Captain Shang in "Mulan." And he was Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast." Look, I don't think we need to justify Donny showing up. He won "Dancing with the Stars," remember? He's going to be a better guest judge than a lot of these random stars who just like watching the show. So let's get to it! Wasn't it nice when we had a week where someone didn't get shipped home? Of course, that was nice for the couples themselves, but it also made the show feel a little less cluttered. We start with establishing that Drew and Cheryl are safe. And they'll be dancing first. So, no time to celebrate -- get to steppin'!
