When I was 11, my parents let me go to the Professional Children's School. That was like nothing I'd ever encountered before, and I must admit it was difficult for a while. I was so much younger than the others and I came to school in a short skirt and flat-heeled shoes - whereas the other girls would turn up in high heels, flashy hairdos and slinky clothes.
