When director Don Argott first teamed with Lamb of God for a documentary, the idea was to profile fans of the Grammy-nominated heavy metal band in different countries during a 2012 tour. But when the band arrived in the Czech Republic late that June, frontman Randy Blythe was arrested:. He was accused of pushing a young fan who’d rushed the stage back into the audience at a show in Prague two years earlier — causing a head injury that later took the fan’s life. Keeping the cameras rolling required trust. “Don was there and filmed my wife coming to visit me,...

Pete Kowalsky is a very interesting character. A mainstay of the Florida Metal/Hardcore scene, he is best known as the vocalist/songwriter for Remembering Never, but is also notable for being the current vocalist for the band xBishopx, formerly known as xBishopx, which lyrically, focuses on the Straight Edge lifestyle.
He is known for being very opinionated and outspoken; he has hard line views on many issues that affect us all, whether we like it or not. He has written angry and thought provoking songs on matters such as animal cruelty, the meat trade, gay rights, faceless art critics, gay rights and much much more. If you thought Rage Against the Machine was as angry as politically motivated music gets, then you really haven’t listened to a Remembering Never record.
They have three full lengths, and are about to release their first in 7 years.

This morning saw the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which will hit theaters December 13, and it would see fans might be getting an extended cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey around the same time as we've know one would be released some time this year and today the MPAA announced an official rating for the project. As for ratings for new films hitting theaters over the coming months, we already knew James Wan's The Conjuring would be getting an R rating as there have already been stories saying it was simply too scary to get a PG-13. The Lone Ranger, however, may have intense action, but not intense enough as it received the none-too-surprising PG-13. We also recently saw the first official trailer for Runner, Runner starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake and it has received an R rating today along with The Spectacular Now...

We were stoked to have one of our favorite bands visit the FEARnet studio recently: Philadelphia-based extreme metallers Motionless in White have been kicking much ass since we first featured them on these pages, with the latest landmark being the release of their second full-length album Infamous. This week the band unleashed their latest music video “America,” which joins their growing rogue's gallery of shocking and controversial visuals, and marks their first collaboration Shawn “Clown” Crahan, best known as the percussionist and official artist/chronicler for Slipknot. Motionless previously teamed up with Cody Snider (son of Twisted Sister's Dee Snider) for the stunning “Immaculate Misconception,” which made its world premiere on FEARnet (watch it here if you dare), and their latest is sure to ruffle even more feathers. Frontman Chris Motionless and keyboardist Josh Balz sat down with us to talk about the shocking “America” video and the ideas...

Ahh…Thrash. The much revered sub – genre of Heavy Metal, that has caused many an internet/bar room/kitchen table debate on whom, and what credentials, makes a band, or a particular album one worthy enough to be called ‘Thrash’! Fans of Thrash have a reputation that precedes them. Known for being elitist, close minded and stubborn they are however, some of the most enduring and devoted fans, any style of music has ever seen.
Thrash has also given us the most well known name in Metal …Metallica. They have gone on to become one of the biggest names in music, period. Not bad for four greasy metal heads from California.

Shortly after Steve Winwood quit the Spencer Davis Group (of which he was the lead singer and organist), he formed Traffic with some guys he'd jammed with at a club in Birmingham: guitarist/vocalist Dave Mason, saxophonist/flutist Chris Wood, and drummer/lyricist Jim Capaldi. Machine Head frontman Rob Flynn was terrified the first time the band played in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai, because he feared the booking was actually part of a cunning terrorist plot.
The singer had never visited the Middle East before and had no idea what to expect on his arrival ahead of the 2005 Desert Rock music festival.
And Flynn admits his wife did little to ease his insecurities before the trip.
He says, "We were terrified the first time we came here (Dubai). My wife and I had a huge argument. She was saying, 'This has got to be a terrorist plan! Why would they want metal bands in the Middle East?' Then, when we got off the plan, they whisked us off to this nondescript building with no windows.
"And I was thinking, 'Oh my God, what the f**k is this?' Then, suddenly the door opened and they'd brought us to the Royal passport clearance area. There were Rolex clocks on the walls and they brought us dates and pastries. We were all thinking, 'Holy s**t, this is f**king awesome! All right we're not going to die!'"...
