- Veteran TV Producer Danny Bilson (The Sentinel, Viper) had pushed/coached Dunn to pursue a career in the Film Industry (starting in 1998). To pay homage to Bilson, Dunn named the recurring hero in the independent films Midnight Conflict and Silent Night, "Paul Bilson." This character's name was derived from the producing team of Paul DeMeo and Danny Bilson (who created the Flash, Viper and The Sentinel).

The paramedics and emergency room staff did not expect him to survive the injuries. At the time, he was midway through filming the feature film, "Bloody 27." The film was stalled by one month - it was quickly rewritten to explain that his character's injuries were caused by a jealous husband. Michael returned to acting in December 2007 when "Bloody 27" resumed filming.
