“Ek Villain” is an Indian romantic action thriller film directed by Mohit Suri. It’s loosely based on the successful Korean movie “I Saw the Devil”, directed by Kim Jee-woon and both are based on the original story written by Park Hoon-jung. For “Ek Villain”, Tushar Hiranandani has adapted Park Hoon-jung’s the original story and by keeping some essential elements of the original screenplay, but at the same time by altering other key details, makes “Ek Villain” to deviate from the movie “I saw the Devil”.
“Ek Villain”‘s story follows Guru (Sidharth Malhotra), a former gangster who in the past worked for Caeser (Remo Fernandes) but now leaves his past behind and starts a new life with his wife Aisha Verma (Shraddha Kapoor). Unfortunately, at the very beginning of his new life, while Aisha is calling Guru, an intruder in hood attacks her in their new home,...

The Remo Fernandes-directed Utv production Abcd 2 has been cleared by the Censor Board Of Film Certification with a 'U' certificate (for all ages) with just one verbal cut. The line 'All Indians are beggars' has been chopped off. Otherwise not a shot has been touched. Says a source from the censor board, "We were mesmerized by Varun Dhawan, Shradha Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva's dancing. The film is clean healthy family fare. And we all felt there was no reason to not give the film a 'U' certification. However one line had to go. It referred to Indians in a derogatory manner. Censor guidelines specify that no utterances insulting any nationality or community must be allowed." Remo seemed pleased with the censor certification though displeased with the film's release date not been pre-poned by a day to June 18. "I was in Dubai this week. They're happy that our film opens on June 18 in Dubai.

A while back, we had reported that the release date of Anurag Kashyap's neo-noir film Bombay Velvet had been postponed to 2015. Now we hear that the director, who has found extra time to work on his project, will be shooting a special music video for the film.
Interestingly, Anurag will not be directing the said video, instead Vikramaditya Motwane, who earlier directed films like Lootera and Udaan will shoot the music video. A source close to the film confirms the development saying, "The music video will be a jazz number set in the 60's featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and also Karan Johar, who plays a media mogul in the film, and directed by Vikramaditya."
Further the source informs us, "Currently, the video is still being conceptualized, but once done, it will be shot to convey the general idea of the film." However, the track will not be a part of the film,...

Panaji, Oct 1: Does Goa need "mercenary Bollywood actors" or some "bitsy film star" as brand ambassadors? Local celebrities think otherwise.
According to Remo Fernandes, a legend in Goa for his musical feats and social positioning, it is much easier for the Goa government to sign up a "mercenary Bollywood actor" than a local who speaks his mind about issues.
"They know it is safer to appoint a Goan chamcha or a mercenary Bollywood actor who doesn't really care a damn about Goa, will never stand up against our corrupt and incompetent authorities for a Goan issue or cause, and will use the money and publicity for self-promotion, not Goa's well-being," Fernandes said on his much-followed Facebook wall.

New Delhi, Aug 30: At 60, Remo Fernandes is going on from becoming a 'singing actor' to an 'actor' with "Bombay Velvet". He has been associated with the Hindi film industry for over 25 years, but it took him all these years to try acting as he was too shy and self-conscious.

Bejoy Nambiar’s Shaitan is a perennial favourite album of mine, his latest film David, a Tamil and Hindi bilingual features the music from a whopping 8 composers. Shaitan collaborators Prashant Pillai, and Mikey McCleary, along with Bramafatura, Maatibaani, Remo Fernandes, Modern Mafia, Anirudh Ravichander, and Saurabh Roy contribute to the wildly eclectic and amazing album that surprises with its innovation and addictiveness. David spans three decades, with three different Davids played by Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani, and Vikram dealing with their trials and tribulations. It’s an album that works on a conceptual level as well as complementing the narrative of this interesting film. It also happens to be on my most played this week!
We start with Bramafatura’s fantastic track, Ghum Huye (The Theme of David), which is an interesting atmospheric track that hooks you in with its trance beats. Mark Fulgado and Gaurav Godkhindi are the duo behind Bramafatura,...

Panaji, Feb 1: Corruption has taken centre stage ahead of every other issue in the five states where assembly elections are being conducted because of activist Anna Hazare, noted singer Remo Fernandes said Wednesday.
Remo, along with the members of the Election Commission, was addressing the media after the singer was appointed a "youth icon" by the poll authority to encourage youngsters to vote and enroll in the voters' registration programme in Goa.
"Corruption is the main issue for these elections, thanks only to Anna Hazare. Our main problem is corruption, but politicians every time used to use religion, caste, language to deflect.
