Jonathan Mostow is on board to write and direct a biopic about American businessman and humanitarian Chris Catrambone, founder of the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (Moas). Established in 2013, Moas has provided humanitarian aid and services to the most vulnerable people around the world, reaching hundreds of thousands to date. Catrambone’s self-financed efforts have resulted in the rescue of 40,000 refugees at sea.
“Chris Catrambone is living proof of how one person’s passion can save lives,” said Mostow. “When he saw the world standing idle as scores of refugees drowned in the Mediterranean, he took it upon himself to do something. I’m honored to be able to tell his story.”
The project marks Mostow’s return to film since 2017’s The Hunter’s Prayer, starring Sam Worthington. He’s also no stranger to filming on water, having directed the WW2 submarine thriller U-571 with Matthew McConaughey and the pilot for TNT’s The Last Ship.

Emmy award-winning commercial production company The Institute, co-founded by Transformers director Michael Bay and Pearl Harbor producer Scott Gardenhour, turned heads with yet another eye-catching holiday tv commercial for women's lingerie and beauty product retailer Victoria's Secret. The video, which premiered at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, was the inspiration for a behind-the-scenes web series entitled One Gift A Thousand Fantasies: Inside the Holiday 2010 TV Shoot, which launched last week on the Victoria's Secret YouTube channel. The series, shot during production at Chicago's Lyric Opera House, features supermodels Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, Erin Heatherton and Katsia Zingarevich. The first episode features Edward Razek, senior creative of Victoria's Secret (and President and Chief Marketing Officer of parent Limited Brands), who has been hand-picking the models for Victoria's Secret for two decades "Our holiday campaigns have a certain requirement to be fairly epic at this point," he says.

Last week, it was announced that The Institute — a media company founded by Michael Bay and Scott Gardenhour that has been using its motto, “Where Brand Science Meets Great Storytelling,” in commercials until now — was set to produce its first feature film, the live-action Hansel and Gretel in 3D.
What exactly does that mean, and how is it different from product placement? “One of things that we say a lot of times here is, ‘You’ve almost got to be a marketer as well as a filmmaker these days,” Gardenhour tells EW. “A lot of times, brands will come to...

Grimm's classic Fairy Tale Hansel and Gretel is getting a brand new 3D, action-packed visual effects filled adaptation. The new film is being developed by Kalliope Films and Michael Bay's The Institute. The classic story follows two young kids who stumble upon a house made of candy, and a witch the likes to eat children.
I have no idea what to expect from this film. I love the story of Hansel and Gretel, it's extreamly dark and disturbing and could make for a great horror film. One of the things the film will do is introduce some legendary creatures from German mythology, which are being created by Joseph C. Pepe, the lead character designer from Avatar. This definitely has the potential to be a fun movie, I just hope it doesn't end up being a cheaply made bad film.
There's also another Hansel and Gretel movie being made...

Are you ready for a Germanic fairy tale in your face? Oh yeah, the wonderfully creepy fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, Hansel and Gretel, will be coming at you in three glorious dimensions.
However, Hansel and Gretel in 3D! (note the exclamation point, please!) will take a few liberties with the Grimms' story. Although there are many different versions of the fairy tale in different cultures, I've never read about one where Hansel and Gretel find themselves in a forest that's "home to the legendary creatures of German mythology. The siblings are thrown into a fast paced magical adventure," as per the press release. Well, at least we'll still have the witch, right?
What's a little more interesting is the production team behind the movie. The writer/producer Kira Madallo Sesay is the CEO of Kalliope Films, which is partnered with The Institute for the Development of Enhanced Perceptual Awareness as co-producers.
