Succession actor is a one of many discordant parts in this coming-of-age saga about pigeons, which are the best thing about the movie
The coming-of-age drama Little Wing opens with two facts, both quoted from the 2006 New Yorker article of the same name by Susan Orlean. The first: “Americans move, on average, every five years; pigeons almost never move.” The second: that racing pigeons “have a fixed, profound and nearly incontrovertible sense of home”.
The title card successfully imparts a few facts about the film, which premieres this week on the streaming service Paramount+. One, that Little Wing, directed by Dean Israelite from a screenplay by John Gatins, will awkwardly interweave human concerns with the very different realities of pigeons, who are indeed fascinating and the best thing about this movie. And that the film will attempt to vest such comparisons with certain deep insights about our sense of belonging and home.

Nothing kicks the week off like a good rumor. According to The Sun, Will Smith is reprising his role as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin 2. The live-action sequel would be Smith’s first role since he slapped the taste out of Chris Rock’s mouth at the Oscars. Ever since “the Slap,” Smith stepped back from the spotlight to reflect on his actions, learn from the incident, and re-position himself for a Hollywood comeback. According to IMDb, Andrea Berloff and John Gatins will write the Guy Ritchie-directed sequel, inspired by the One Thousand And One Nights series of Middle Eastern folk tales. If all goes according to plan, cameras could begin rolling by the end of the year for a 2025 release.

In the late 1990s, after teaching herself screenplay structure by way of reading Viki King’s seminal go-to manual “How to Write a Movie in 21 Days,” Andrea Berloff emerged with her first feature script titled “Liberty,” a comedy set in a small-town Ohio dart tournament.
“I had no idea at that point that there were three acts in a movie — I’d never had a class in it,” says Berloff, who cut her teeth as a theater major at Cornell U., poring over Greek tragedies and Shakespeare’s dramas.
And while “very few people read that script,” the friends who gave “Liberty” a look served as “encouragement to keep writing,” says Berloff, who would go on to option her second, the biopic “Harry and Caresse” to Fine Line (the then-specialty division of New Line) in 2003, pen the Oliver Stone drama “World Trade Center” and net an Academy Award nomination for co-writ- ing,...

Last May, Disney released their live-action remake of Aladdin, which turned out to be one of the studio’s biggest hits of the year. The reboot of the beloved 1992 animated classic earned over $1 billion at the global box office. It came as no surprise, then, when we started hearing a sequel could be on the way a few months after it released. But it seems the Mouse House’s plans for Agrabah don’t end there.
Sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us Aladdin 2 was in the works months before it was announced, and that Disney was remaking Robin Hood and Bambi, both of which were correct – say that we can expect an Aladdin 3 as well. That’s right, we’re hearing that Disney is planning on delivering an entire trilogy based on the remake, expanding the story of Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie across three films.

There's still a lot of gray area, but after the billion-dollar success of last summer’s reboot, Disney is developing a sequel to Aladdin, according to Variety. Director Guy Ritchie is scheduled to return to the helm. Aladdin starred Will Smith as Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine, who are expected to take another ride on the carpet.
Aladdin 2 will be an original story and not follow the sequels to 1992's Aladdin, 1994's The Return of Jafar or Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996), which went straight-to-dvd. The Aladdin 2 screenplay will be written by John Gatins, who was nominated for an Academy Award for writing the Denzel Washington film Flight, and Andrea Berloff, who was nominated for an Oscar...

Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who produced the original, are back producing through their Rideback banner, with Ryan Halprin executive producing.
It's unknown at this time whether director Guy Ritchie will return. Producers hope to bring back stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott, but offers won't be extended to the cast until a script is ready.
The film will be a theatrical release, not a Disney Plus title. The original animated movie had two straight-to-video sequels, but sources say this new take is completely original and not based on those ideas.

Grab your magic carpet, it's time to go on another ride! According to The Hollywood Reporter, a sequel to Disney's live-action Aladdin is in the works, with the starring cast - Will Smith, Mena Massoud, and Naomi Scott - expected to reprise their original roles of Genie, Aladdin, and Princess Jasmine. Director Guy Ritchie and producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will also be returning.
It appears the sequel will be a reunion of sorts, but there are still a couple of new faces joining the crew: writers John Gatins and Andrea Berloff. The team has yet to confirm a storyline for this upcoming film, but rumor has it that Disney held a writers summit last year to brainstorm a follow-up. If all else fails, they can always use the animated sequels as a reference point! Regardless, this next installment will have some pretty big shoes to fill, since the...

Disney’s live-action remakes are basically a license to print money for the studio, with both The Lion King and Aladdin doing gangbusters at the box office. True, the latter took a little longer to reach the coveted billion-dollar mark, but it still cemented itself as a massive financial success for the studio, even despite some fairly tepid reviews.
Of course, as any House of Mouse fan will know, the original 1992 version spawned two sequels in the form of The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves, and with this recent remake performing so well, it always seemed likely that Disney would follow suit and push a follow-up into development sooner rather than later. In fact, We Got This Covered was actually the first outlet to tell you that Aladdin was getting a sequel last year, and tonight, Variety has confirmed our scoop, reporting that Aladdin 2 is now in development.

After grossing over $1 billion worldwide last summer, Disney’s remake of their animated film “Aladdin” will get a theatrically released sequel, multiple individuals with knowledge of the project confirmed to TheWrap.
The sequel will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Ehrich of Rideback, who produced the live-action film starring Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Will Smith as the powerful Genie he frees from a magic lamp. The film was released on Memorial Day weekend last year and grossed $355 million domestically and $1.05 billion worldwide, making it one of a record seven billion-dollar hits that Disney released in 2019.
While it has not been determined whether remake director Guy Ritchie will return for the sequel, the script will be an entirely new story written by John Gatins and Andrea Berloff. Gatins, who wrote the 2012 Robert Zemeckis/Denzel Washington film “Flight,” most recently worked on the script for Lionsgate’s 2018 film adaptation of “Power Rangers.

You’d been forgiven if you’ve forgotten the name of Matt Aselton who, a decade earlier, made his directorial debut with Gigantic – a film with Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel, John Goodman inside a quirky mattress store and ideas of adoption that I caught at the 2008 Toronto Intl. Lying and Stealing is his sophomore feature, and while on paper this sounds like a longshot, perhaps there is a unique brand of weirdness carried over into a grifter tale that includes the likes of Theo James, Emily Ratajkowski, Fred Melamed, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Evan Handler and John Gatins.…...

[Note: The following story contains spoilers for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” Season 3.]
So far, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” has played out relatively close to the way that Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna first pitched the show a half-decade ago. But as with all plans, there are some inevitable changes along the way.
At an event at the UTA Theater in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night, Bloom and Brosh McKenna spoke about the deeper sides of the show’s third season and how some of the deviations from the original plans happened right up top.
“The question was, ‘Right after the wedding, what is she doing?’ Originally, she goes to this diner with her friends. She thinks and says, ‘Will you excuse me for one second?’ Then she knocks on Nathaniel’s door,” Bloom said. “Literally the first second of the season, and then that’s part of the reason he’s then on the hook.”

Proving that post-credits scenes needn’t be exclusive to Hollywood’s thriving superhero genre, Lionsgate and director Dean Israelite’s Power Rangers snuck in an end-credits teaser during the final moments of their radical reboot.
Those of you who hung around after the credits rolled back in March will know that that sequence in question largely centered on the sixth member of the Powers Rangers, fuelling speculation that Tommy Oliver (Aka the Green Ranger) would be introduced in a possible sequel – Rangers may not have lit up the box office in the way Lionsgate and Saban would’ve hoped, but strong Blu-ray sales have meant that a second movie isn’t necessarily off the table.

Kong is back, transformed into a ‘MonsteVerse’ colossus suitable for combat with Kaiju-sized foes. The key inspiration is video games but the day is saved by capable performers in mostly amusing roles. Even though the show treats its fantasy halfway seriously, it’s still an infantile guns ‘n’ monsters romp, embellished with impressive visual effects.

For any of us who grew up with the Power Rangers (which is likely a majority seeing the number of years they have spanned) have either already seen the movie, or are looking to check it out upon its release on DVD. Below I will give an overview of the movie itself followed by a review of the special features included on the different DVD releases:
The Movie:
The film opens with a large exposition introducing the audience to the teenagers with attitude. Each individual fits some type of the cliche high school student, and while some have been put off by this, it actually is a strong reflection of the 1990's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which gave a nostalgic feel to a modern take. I did feel that there was a bit too much focus on the "attitude" of each individual. Yes, the original series...
